Sonny's abuse of Karen would have seen pushback from him becoming a leading man that's a "good" mobster. OLTL: Roger Howarth's Todd's reform and faking sexual abuse triggered DID to escape charges. TSJ Todd's abusive behavior to Starr & Cole as well as his "re-rape" of Marty by romancing her when she lost her memory may have been cut or changed due to social media pushback.

thank you!!! ill see if the RR youtube channel has a decent amount of 2008 episodes posted to watch some of this. i like storylines where nikki gets to be independent of victor which happened a lot during the MAB era. it feels like she lost some of that independence in recent years.

I didnt think Cobb's acting was all that great on Y&R. On the flip side, along with RJ on OLTL it was cool to a character with locks! The character of Neil never recovered after Drews death. He became boring, and the black storylines on the show never had the same strength as when Dru and Shemar Moore's Malcom were on.

She would have definitely worked as Lois or even Tea Delgado! It just dawned on me that they may be trying to recreate Ned/Lois with Olivia and Ned with the whole preppy WASP marries Brooklyn Italian aspect.

Definitely Pam and Bobby on Dallas! Neil & Drucilla Y&R: It's disappointing that she never came back after she was killed off so that the couple could reunite before Kristoff St John died. At least they were "reunited" in another universe in that UPtv movie.

I'd put 2012 (MAB's last year) as the least time Y&R was interesting. There was some juice around Delia's death but otherwise Y&R has been loosing steam for the better part of the last decade.

B&B currently has weak storytelling but it's far more entertaining than Mal Young or Josh Griffith's Y&R. At least things happen on B&B whereas 2010s & 20s Y&R is lifeless and dull.

I agree with you about the oddity of her over the top loyalty to Roman. I second that Roman was too soft when it came to Sami, forgiving her for the kidnapping, which was before he even knew Sami witnessed John & Marlena's tryst at Titan. He also seemed to let switching Belle's paternity test slide. It's also interesting to see John bounce back and forth between Marlena and Kristen in '93-'94.

I appeciate Sami's loyalty. In other soap storylines I've seen the kids side with the person that raised them not considering the parent that was denied the opportunity. But Sammy's complete disdain for John is odd and perhaps unrealistic. But the storylines wouldn't have been juicy if everything was kumbaya.

I was surprised by that too. There are a hundred bars on GH: The Tan O, Kellys, The Haunted Star, The Floating Rib, the Metro Court bar, The Savoy, and so many apartment sets. Meanwhile Y&R just has that hotel lobby and I question if they still have the GC athletic club. Add to that a bloated cast.

Good analysis @carolineg. It also surprised me how much vitriol Sammy had towards John considering that he raised her solo during the "Roman" years when Marlena was presumed dead. After the affair she turned and went full blown villain (which I'm enjoying). This D.Goldenson YouTube channel is everything!

GH : Luke & Laura were severley shat upon. I cannot understand Tony Geary's resistance to the insanely popular pairing that launched him into the soap stratosphere. GH Robert & Ana: I'm surprised the show hasn't really flirted with a Robert & Ana reunion especially since they surprisingly killed of Duke, a classic charachter. Y&R: Nick and Sharon are really still not together after 2 failed wedding attempts! As much as Nick and Sharon were pushed as a supercouple, they've just been broken up and split apart too many times for me to care. Have they ever had a longer-term stable period of happiness? --side note: It's amazing that they Victor and Nikki didn't get remarried for 10 years (88-98) only for that remarriage to be considered invalid with the legit knot tying occuring four years later.

In rewatching the John & Marlena affair story from '94 I noticed Roman was catching alot of flack for his harshness toward Marlena in the aftermath in the YouTube comments . I understand why the affair happened now, but from Roman's perspective he involuntarily had years of his life stolen from him only to have another man living in his place and his wife now more in love with that man than him. To top it off she cheats on him and has the other man's baby🥶.

At 0:11, this 2000s rebroadcast of Todd & Blair's 1995 wedding features the modern OLTL theme dubbed over the champagne opening. I remember seeing this during the OLTL finale marathon on SoapNet in 2012. I can't seem to find any other episodes on the YouTube that use this intro variation, so what is this done for copyright/royalties purposes during the re-broadcast?

RIP to a legend, Betty White. I was getting nervous when I saw all the press coverage hyping up her upcoming 100th birthday, thinking to myself "don't jinx it!". This reminds me of Cecily Tysons passing where there was so much press coverage around her new book and she suddenly just passed on.

Jason and Britt anticipation built up then squashed. The complication with the Carly marriage (if better written) would have worked as a way to break them up --and eventually recouple him and Britt -- later on in their relationship. Laura has security, never knew!

Gearing up for a Brook/Ridge/Taylor repeat. I wonder if 30 years ago the actors would've thought they'd be playing the same stories today! We might even get Brooke and Deacon messing around again, which I feel may result in something between Finn and Hope.

Why doesn't Laura Wright wear her natural curls on the show anymore. They look so much better when she does interviews. She looked really great around 2013/2014ish when she had a Maura West type haircut. As much as I like the Jason character the praise especially from Epiphany and Jocelyn was a bit much. Sounding like a broken record but it makes no semse that known criminals are integrated members of the community😂.
