  1. Wow this list is bad! Top 5 easily: 1. Katherine 2 Victor 3 Jill 4 Nikki 5 (someone from the 70s) Lori perhaps. My personal favorites: 1 Victor, 2 Katherine, 3 Sheila, 4 Nikki 5 Malcolm 6 Drucilla
  2. Steve Burton is Jason, even attempting to recast him again would be ineffective. They should have just said Jason was missing not presumed dead after the tunnel collapse.
  3. Well at least they're enjoying the show lol. Ignorance is bliss in a sense, you wouldn't know how terrible the current show is if you haven't watched earlier material. I loved Y&R having began watching in the mid 00, until I realized how much better it was in the 80s and 90s from seeing oldies on youtube.
  4. I sometimes have that "I've-seen-it -already" attitude about rewatching night time soap episodes. But as for daytime, I wouldn't mind rewatching stuff that aired about once 25+ years ago. Given all shows crap state, I wouldn't be so eager to see the new content.
  5. The fans complaining about Diane's return must be newer viewers who aren't too knowledgeable on past history. Might be the same who kept complaining about the show not running new episodes during lockdown.
  6. What are some roles that you think just wouldn't work with a recast? Who comes to mind for me: Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester, Eric Braden as Victor Newman, Susan Lucci as Erica Kane. The aforementioned owned their roles to a point it'd be hard to accept anyone else playing that part. (or) Are there any roles that have been recasted that you feel cannot be recasted ever again? My choise: MTS as Nikki Newman, Erika Slezak as Viki Lord, Don Hastings as Bob Hughes. Reasoning: I think all of the previous actors listed were in their roles for far to long, and played their parts too exceptionally for the audience to be accepting of anyone newer in the role.
  7. Material from the 2000s looks gold in comparison to what we get today. The lesser of yesterday is better than the best of today where soaps are concerned. 7 Divas on a bus , 2007 interview from CBS' Early Show. https://youtu.be/eWW83rm4cKM
  8. End of another face from a bygone era. RIP Kathryn! And I was just rewatching the Bob/Susan/Kim story from the early 90s. It was the epitome of mature charachters still being utilized! The multi generational community is what makes me love World Turns. Loved her short haircut and she was always well dressed! Glad we got to see her on the Locher room last year.
  9. Just exactly where does Sonny get income from? I haven't really come across scenes of him shaking down small businesses for "protections".
  10. I need Diane to be a villain and not soft to stir some action. would love to see her interact with Phyliss, victor and Nikki again.
  11. I never found Sheila to be sympathetic, more so a pot stirrer. The hype around Sheila IMO is warrented. The baby switch was one of Y&R's greatest structured plots ever with one of the best payoffs: 5 days of the firehouse, plus 6 more years of drama on another soap. Moreover, Sheila was the only charachter that really intimidated Stephanie Forrester! Lauren did not deserve the baby switch. It was however was karma for how she treated people like Tracy in the 80s. Not to mention that she cheated on Scott afterwards. The problem is everything after 2002 has has been cartonish, and the litany of random children was ridiculous. They could have brought Diana back at had her get attached to one of the Forrester men. Yes! The Marones and Soectras were more entertaining than the Spencers (and Logans after about 2012).
  12. Lauren doesnt have much to do on Y&R so I wish they'd bring her to B&B or send Sheila to Y&R for some material. I dont see how Sheila can continue roaming free in LA after this. (But the writers will find a far fetched way).
  13. Sheila doing low key mischeif like switching wine bottles, stealing Forrester stock and comiserating with Decon or something is what she needs to be doing to last long term. Shooting 2 people -- and being the clear suspect -- should be the climax after years of tension. Not something she does shortly after returning to town. Hence her 1992, 98, and 02 exit stories. Her 2005 return to Y&R, despite it's flaws, was her most decently written stoyline since shooting Taylor.
  14. Didnt realize Diane was on the show as late as 2004, or that she ever interacted woth Dru. By 2005 alot of charachter orbit bubbles burst and we started seeing fresh interactions like Jack and Dru or Malcolm & Sharon.
  15. Lol! Since we're bringing back people who died on screen can we get Brad back, or at least bring Dollar Bill over from B&B. Bill would probably be more interesting as an adversary for Victor.
  16. Nikki absolved of self defence killings twice! JT & now Diane.
  17. That awkward Smoltz guy would be a decent Spinelli recast if needed. Not sure about revenge porn laws, but if Joss & Cam say Trina didn't do it and didn't press charges, does the case need to be procecuted? It's not like a murder where it's the state vs the suspect, and the victims aren't minors.
  18. Susan had a near death experience twice and now her husband passes before her. RIP.
  19. Joss calling Esme Nelle 2.0, loved the show's self-awareness in that. I want to see Cam fall for Esme and help her through the pregnancy (Carly/Jason 3.0 , 2.0 being Michael and Nelle). It surprises me that Porsche is so anti-Spencer but she's perfectly fine with either mentoring her daughter. But as someone posted, it wasn't always that way.
  20. Exactly keept whatever business you can private. They've spoke alot publicly, especially Jada and resultantly people have had something to say. IMO, Will's reaction as evidenced by his speech, was about the years of jokes not just Chris' comment. This begs the question, if you cant make mild jabs like this anymore, exactly what can you joke about?
  21. I think Will reaction was less about Jada's hair condition and more his breaking point after months of "Entanglement" jokes. I can't tell someone what they should feel offended by, but did the joke really warrant Will's reaction? It was rather mild and GI Jane was a female badass in her movies apparently. Other comedians have said worse about their relationship, Chris was just Infront of Will at the moment. Plus several other people or their movies were the butt of jokes last night. This was basically a bar fight between Will and Chris. Hopefully this isn't blown out of proportion and Will (or even Chris) doesn't suffere a career lull after this.
  22. I suspected Esme would either get pregnant or fake a pregnancy by Cam or Spencer. Didn't see the Nik flirtation coming, but definitely it's headed there.
  23. I will say constantly giving the same charachters the lead is why I find Y&R's history easier to manage than for example ATWT, with it's bloated cast back in the days. It has backfired in the long run because of the show has a poorly developed , boring newer generation and the veteran actors are quite nearly played out. The separation of charachters and storylines occuring in spheres also made backstories and charachter connections easier to follow. The orbits, especially in the 90s: Victor/Jack, Kay/Jill, Drucilla, Christine, & Lauren, made following stories relatively easier than other big soaps. I agree that loosing side charachters like the secretaries and maids (Carol, Mamie, Miguel, Lynne, John Silva) was a bad move. I wonder why we haven't gotten to see Lynne or at least Mamie in years. I love how Y&R always brough back the same actors for small roles like Glen Richards the district attorney or Detective Selena Wylie.
  24. 2005 is often cited as the last classic year, but there was a marked decline after 2001. The camera angles became less ornate, the clothes and sets became even less glamourus, and the storylines started going off track. 97-01 was the Silver age, with 02-05/ early 06, being the bronze age of the show for me. 2001 was solid with Matt Clark & Tricia, Diane, Isabella, the Walnut Grove teens, and others.
  25. This storyline with Keemo actually would have been a good opportunity to bring Mary Jo back, perhaps in addition to Diane.
