  1. A viewer who attended a recent taping says I'm actually surprised and pleased. That's a risky story to tell given her existing storyline.
  2. Re: Gillum, I'd love it if he somehow makes up the deficit but even if he doesn't, we need to talk about what appears to be the possible return of the Bradley effect with the earlier polling.
  3. I will never forget the John Edwards sections of Game Change. Absolutely stunning. I thought the world of that man at one point and believed he'd be President, but who he was off-camera was utterly different. He destroyed himself. I think it was Aaron Sorkin who had an Edwards film in development at one point - I hope that happens, because it's just an unbelievable story.
  4. Trump is going to do and say what he likes. What matters is keeping stuff in the House and out of the Senate, investigating him, jamming him up and making his life hell.
  5. We have the House. Anything else is gravy AFAIC.
  6. Mueller doesn't leak. I'll believe it when I see it.
  7. Acosta does good work. Important thread:
  8. That's my point, yes.
  9. He can try to shut down Mueller, but the House will bring him in and put any subsequent hearings on TV. Say hello to 2006.
  10. It is a wave with some major gains in the House - but of course the media is scrambling to call it not that, as they always do with Dems. They attempt to handicap any Democratic victory, but thanks to (of all things) social media that's less possible now than it has been at any point in recent history.
  11. He came very close. And I think he'll run in 2020, and he sets a huge precedent for Texas - and Abrams in Georgia, though.
  12. NBC projects we take the House. I honestly don't care about the superstar races; those folks (like Beto) will be back, and they ran very tough races which bode well for those states in future. I care about the House. That's victory. That's what it looks like. It's grueling and it's tough and it's incremental and it saves our fùcking country. That's the lesson I learned in the 2000s.
  13. Sharice Davids wins!
  14. All I want is the House. This is not the end of Gillum, Abrams or O'Rourke politically no matter what happens - and the fact that they have fought so hard against terrible odds in formerly solid red/purple areas is impressive and an omen for the future. Whatever happens was always going to require more hard work and heartache.
