I'd forgotten that kid even existed. That is a great idea. Austin can die offscreen in a horrible auto smelting accident, freeing Carrie up for non-bionic love.

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I've talked about this before, but I really do think they're de-prioritized in part because a) Frank is taking yet another run at making Eden/Joss the A-star in that age tier, after she took a considerable break in '24 per past failures and b) they are working overtime to put Jason and the Britt/Obrecht family saga over, after a similarly fallow year where Steve could not justify that expenditure. It's crazy how Gio/Emma are not being treated like an A-story youth couple. I won't go into my typical schtick about how much they'd play these two 20 years ago, let alone 30. Neither actor would get any sleep, you'd have to bring the Monty coke tables back.

He's 'dead' and Nikolas is gone, so there's not much to currently mention unless she and Laura get into a nauseating heart to heart or something. But I also always hated that relationship, much as I hate most things about Britt. Or as Spencer used to call her, 'Bwitt!'

That whole Carrie thing was probably the only thing that could ever interest me in Rafe lol. I gave it a chance but it didn't go anywhere. If DAYS was able to block-tape the same way GH does certain guests (like Emma Samms) you might be able to spread the wealth around re: Christie visiting over a long stretch of time to give the impression of Carrie having moved back home. But they have enough taping issues as is.

I think that would be good, though I would try to get her to hang around a bit more than Jennifer lol. It is too bad, I thought there was real opportunity in her last contract return.

I would kill to have Christie back on a regular basis but isn't she largely retired from acting at this point? They wasted their shot in the 2010s.

If you keep saying her name you're going to invoke her through the nearest mirrored surface, like Candyman!

Am I crazy or didn't several eps from '77-'78 resurface in the last few years? I know I saw some I thought were from around then. I remember an unbelievably interminable Thanksgiving sequence where Justin and Sara McIntyre cook dinner which seemed to be half-improvised and desperate to fill out the hour. It was like slow cinema.

I know you guys go over this a lot and I feel bad asking about the obvious things, but this still fascinates me. I know some of the story of course like losing Charita Bauer, Lisa Brown, etc. or cutting certain vets (like Roussel and Don Stewart I believe), but what left them up shít creek so fast?

I feel like B-story is increasingly generous there right now. They all abducted Ric and then did nothing for a month. At least unlike Kristina I still remember Ava is on the show when she's not in front of me onscreen. I would keep Ava around on contract and think she can but I don't fault people who don't lol. I would not necessarily hate it if she went off contract and started doing recurring stints as a villain, though the hue and cry online would be intense.

Oh, I'd play her out til the wheels fall off. I've said many times I think this Willow could run at least 2-4 more years if not longer as a Susan Moore/Katherine Bell hellraiser type. But I'd have her blackmail and marry Drew (who she ofc shot) for the Q name and power, and then be with a number of other men. I'd never have her get Michael back, though she would try. And maybe start a mommy vlogger cult of her own at one point lol.

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
They should already have her screwing with Michael's PTSD from the firebombing (which they played early on with Rory) and maybe drugging him a la Sonny and Ava last year to try to scheme and get custody, so there's always that.

The repositioning of the show is never more evident than whatever tf is going on with Hayley. Did she fake a pregnancy and miscarriage? Is she trying to put Tomas over as a fake affair? Is she just tired today? Who knows! I am sure she and Randy will get busted re: the baby sooner or later but it's just tedious watching her atm. Feels like an afterthought. Bring in stronger competition for Dani in Bill's life.

I would definitely have her bust Willow on something in public before her final, mostly happy exit.

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I got into a debate about this earlier on PTV. When GH hires a new woman on contract for Michael as opposed to having him float around with another dayplayer hooker, when they have him start making bigger money moves as opposed to letting Sonny/Carly/Jason cluck about his choices or make them for him, then I will buy that they are prepared to run the table with Rory Gibson in a new way. They're part of the way there (Michael prepping his own alibi with Jacinda) but they haven't gone far enough. I would not give Nina a new partner because I would ultimately write Nina out. I love Watros but the window closed when Mulcahey left and they abandoned Drew/Nina; it's time. She can visit or something, I wouldn't go scorched earth (though I would have Willow frame Nina for her crimes, for awhile). I would of course bring in a new man for Laura but I've been over that. The Liz situation is a mess. They clearly prefer her to be Nurse Jessie, but if I had my way I'd bring Lucky back yet again (any Lucky I could get at this point). I'd even bring Zander back from the grave as real competition for awhile. Chad Brannon is still hot enough to warrant that. Anna and uh, Alexis, I have a few ideas. I will say I stand by my thought of a crazy-ass criminal or bounty hunter type for Sonny in the short term, until you can secure Vanessa of course. Anything to get away from these animatronic law enforcement women where it's the same boring story. Maybe Mo's heart rate can climb again.

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
As I've said before, on paper or in a different time and place I'd have had no problem with them hooking up or even having a romance for awhile as a spoiler for LNL2. I think that could've worked and Jonathan and Kate looked okay together, provided they gave Becky someone to be a strong spoiler on the other end of the quad, with Lucky and Liz being the prioritized endgame. But the onscreen execution they went with and what Frank was doing was so messy. He was playing the long game hoping to put KM/Kristina over with Lucky big time while trying to marginalize Elizabeth/Becky and writing Kristina unbelievably poorly to the point that she was unwatchable. And Jonathan has been clear for almost 20 years on what he wanted from the show there and has been cheated out of it before. So I am almost glad he dipped there. It's too bad all around.

I feel like it's a matter of time at this point. There have been rumors circling for awhile but Mansi is literally an afterthought onscreen now. You can tell Frank had pinned everything on putting her with JJ and Jonathan was not having it, lol. It's too bad as I think she could still do well as Kristina with a major reset. But what a waste. I'm not familiar with what went down at DAYS with her and Ron?

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
It is, but I am beginning to really appreciate having a genuinely (let's say it) flamboyant and overtly gay Lucas lol. I wouldn't necessarily weep if RC returned, but given his alleged antivaxx stuff I'm not exactly angling for it anymore. I'd let Van run and see if he can handle more active story. If at least 50% of it doesn't turn into material for the late and lamented The Soup, I'm calling that a win.

GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I think PM might've had Ava drag a drugged-out Sonny to the altar for another mob marriage, whether she ended up surviving the story or not. I suspected that from the beginning. Now she's got these B/C-stories with Ric while they seemingly are on the verge of dumping Kate Mansi. That whole storyline is a dumping ground for characters they either don't care about or have no idea what to currently do with.

I think they are clearly repositioning a lot of stuff on the show right now, but frankly that's a good thing IMO. Dani and Andre marrying was a big step away from stasis, as are Martin and Smitty trying to turn the page, Donnell arriving and Nicole likely moving forward I just hope they don't throw Vanessa out with the bathwater. I would like to see more focus on businesses - not just Dani's constantly liminal new business venture, but ChelseaKat and its competition.

DAYS: October 2025 Discussion Thread
Hey, I'll never claim to be well-versed in the current youth set on this show. I just know when I try to keep track of them or what they do when I do watch a lot of it just blurs together in my mind. I do quite like Linsey Godfrey but I was under the impression at least half the audience hated her and Sarah at this point. I'm very skeptical of Carson Boatman's skills below the level of his pecs and nipples, but maybe he can surprise me. I do think Jason Cook should be begged to return. The level-up was glaring when he did briefly right before or after Bo's "death" in the 2010s. And I think bringing back Jeremy (I haven't seen the actor) and Theo are a step in the right direction. Maybe Tate and Holly are great, who knows. I just think they have to make a lot of these young characters as individuals pop more beyond just musical partners. That would be a start. (And however good Ari is I still can't get over Will and Gabi now being positioned to be very young grandparents for this YA daughter - I mean, come on.)

Van is not in that department. I do think he is working hard though and has done fairly well, and it helps that they hired a hot guy for him (even if I wonder if ol' Marco is doomed, as he's now complicit in Baldo's murders). The intimacy level and overall authenticity of his playing a gay man - even if Carnes presented a different side - helps a lot.

I don't think Mulcahey was teasing Sonny and Nina at all. They had next to zero interaction if not zero. It was very abrupt, lol. Whereas Drew and Nina (and Willow) was being built. I don't care about Sonny and Nina at all and it's never made much sense to me but it would at least be more watchable than Sidwell's wife.
