  1. I will say Jack singing All I Need was one for the books; that was the best part of his doomed return, he was amazing onstage. Even if Kristina looked ready to collapse during the entire song, poor thing. I had an old stupid joke in those days about deadbeat dad Frisco; how any time Maxie would call him for help she'd get a voicemail msg that would be him singing to the tune of All I Need: "Calling you is not what I have planned..."
  2. I think that was the case until BA decided to leave. Once they committed to the alternative with Ellie I really liked those two together. Spinelli matured with Ellie and this is all a major step back. I could say so much about KS and how she's weathered the recent years but I've said it all before. She's spent. She needs to be gone for a long time, for her sake and the show's.
  3. Any chance you have a rough timestamp on where Bryce discusses the later years? It's a very long interview. If not, no worries. Scott Bryce is one of the smartest, slyest performers around but he's aged (well!) into a conventional-looking older man that I don't think I could see him cast in one of the Craig-like roles I'd love to see him play on a soap today. You'd have to go for a man who is more obviously smoldering and sexy, which is a shame bc I think he's still amazing.
  4. Kirsten and Maxie have needed a "rest" for over 10 years. And yes, it is insane that Maxie has any kids at all. It gives credence to the claim that the soaps keep doing baby stories now for young people bc it is one of the few stories the networks are guaranteed to greenlight to a conservative audience. It is pathetic that she has children; she needs none. Spinelli should've stayed with Ellie and it makes him look like a complete chud to have dumped her for the mob after she raised his child and kept his home for close to ten years.
  5. Everyone thought it and she talked about how difficult it was. It was painful to watch which added to the drama. I love JW on MP but Frisco is in no way needed. Brenda should be on contract.
  6. Wagner was awful last time and Kristina looked physically ill having to play their romantic scenes. They get along well IRL today, I believe, but a reunion of those two characters should never happen for so many reasons both onscreen and off. Felicia chose Mac, she's happy with Mac and it's redeemed the character.
  7. That's my assumption. Frank doesn't put anyone over 50 on contract if he can help it. Still, I'm always glad to have more KW and she's a welcome regular presence.
  8. Kirsten had a heyday on the show and it is long past. She has been burnt out since 2012 minimum. She needs a long break. Sam had times I would get behind the character's possibilities. Those are gone. She has nothing left, write her out.
  9. Please write him off tomorrow. For the love of God. Speaking of writing off, Sam is spent and should be gone for good and both KS and Maxie need at least 3-5 years off, minimum.
  10. Yeah, 'deviant moves' cracked me up. I can't believe Chelsea is still on this show.
  11. Wayne should be back or John should be Roman. It's as simple as that.
  12. Are they insinuating Noah is finally gay? Because nothing else interests me.
  13. No, no, it's all good. But if you could keep the full size pix from your 40 year old spank bank to one thread and not fifty that'd be great.
  14. I thought that was what some of the OT threads before, but in almost 20 years here I've learned it simply doesn't matter.
  15. I think they wanted it to be much more, but the actors being in college has hamstrung that. Whether that changes much for the non-blonde actors remains to be seen.
  16. Who cares what Newsmax says?
  17. There's also the unavoidable possibility which I posited from the beginning: That Frank sees Spencer/Trina as the off-white B-couple to the main event of Joss and Cameron, which is exactly how Nikolas and Gia were positioned before them (though they did get a bit bigger, for a little while). Langston and Markko at OLTL also never truly rose before the white couple's sidekicks. Time will tell, but it's still what I suspect is this show's priority, always.
  18. Oh, they're very smart to diversify. Doesn't mean it's not the show's responsibility to try to lock them in as long as possible for the good of the show, which is not always the best thing for the actors. But if I was the EP, I'd try to secure as much commitment as humanly possible. I don't blame the actors for going recurring; I blame the show for not locking them into contracts.
  19. All I'm saying is that when I pointed out months ago that being that young and talented and only on recurring meant they could lose her sooner than GH was acting like they will, a couple people (and I'm not talking about you) lost it and insisted she'd be here for the long haul just because GH said they would in press. But "working with her schedule" always means they're the mercy of the talent's demand. The PR is always the same: "Oh, they're not going anywhere, they'll do both!" Then they get a pilot and it's byebye. I hope she stays longer. And I agree with Chit that in case she isn't, they should be block taping her. Yet somehow I don't think Frank is missing a chance to maximize his Roger Howarth or JPS output. Foolish.
  20. He had COVID, lol. He also lost the election weeks later, so it wasn't exactly a smash success.
  21. I think DZ is excellent and can help carry the show with good writing. He just hasn't had any in at least 10 years. The Sam thing is a B or C pairing at best. They have chemistry in the abstract, but the material - wearing stupid outfits, her yowling at him, etc. - is terrible. It could've been something deeper but now it is a place to park them. KM is completely spent on the show IMO, even more spent physically (the work or whatever she and Steve did to themselves destroyed both of their looks), and she should be gone for good. And I say that as someone who could've found purpose for her in most of the last decade despite often hating Sam in her heyday. There are plenty of dynamic possibilities for Dante, though. I told people Mikayla would not last while still off-contract and they threw a tantrum. It's the truth. I think they should lock down all three of those kids (her, Lipton, Chavez) for as long as possible, but I agree the stories aren't much to write home about. This is easily the strongest youth scene they've had since maybe the mid-2000s though, so they need to work it. The couple is cute even if I'll never buy Spencer is 100% str8, and Esme probably should've been a dude. That's an angle they can work with some other guy another day, I suppose. They could add kids from the Asian Quarter, they could do any number of things while writing off Joss for awhile.
  22. I have no idea what purpose poor Alexis/NLG could possibly still serve on this show or who she could be paired with (her daughters are all a wash at this point and need breaks or to be written out of town for awhile, IMO - Sam permanently) but those scenes were a lot of fun. And Charles Shaughnessy, against long odds IMO, is a hoot as Victor. I love Thaao Penghlis on DAYS for all his camp and pomp but this is very different from Thaao's last very rickety stint as Victor. They could really make this last for some time with the new Victor if they were smart, which they aren't, but he is so much more compelling than Wes Ramsey or ol' hickory ham Cyrus (I love Jeff Kober in his many classic movie and TV roles but this Cyrus mess has been a debacle every time I tune in). UO: Esme should [!@#$%^&*] Papa Nikolas for the bag and scandalize all involved.
  23. Rough time to have a midlife crisis, Spinelli!
