  1. I believe he said he drew the bad guys to him to keep them away from Laura and Lucky, fleeing out of Argentina to Singapore (because of the art scheme he himself embarked on, good job) where he got shot and ended up running across Holly. But still, it's so unnecessary. I think others have said the only period this could have happened is maybe in late '86 or early '87, when Robert was back in Port Charles for a short stint before returning on contract later in '87. What on Earth was Holly getting up to? Was she that bored lol? And of course it doesn't account for Holly's fake 'death' not long after.
  2. On a better note, this is one of TG's last scenes as Bill with Sly shortly before Bill's death (timestamped). I have a vague memory of this stuff from when I first started watching at about Lucky and Sly's ages here, and this has always stuck with me. I mentioned it not long ago when Tony died. I had always thought this was Labine and I was right; it's from November '93. I think it's quite good, with Sly challenging Bill's nihilistic view on the world. This scene and the beautiful scenes with Luke and Sly after Bill's death, where Luke puts Bill's glasses on the boy, were kind of the new team's lovely finishing note on that character.
  3. Not that it may matter to anyone other than me for completionism's sake, but I managed to finally track down the episode (as well as an old TV Megasite transcript) where Luke explains the whole Ethan retcon backstory re: Singapore. May 14th, 2009. I think @carolineg and I went hunting for it a few years ago and had real difficulty doing so, but if I'm wrong my apologies to her. The episode itself is not readily on YT as far as I can tell, but I did find the clip. I still don't like anything about this story or retcon and Luke cheating on Laura, but I always wanted to revisit the details.
  4. My preferred Super Bowl remains Oliver Stone's demented sportball opus Any Given Sunday, which I love excess and all. But my mom is watching. She wants to see Bad Bunny!
  5. I think they may toy with it, and have deliberately kept Alexa's Lulu away from reuniting with Dante to keep him in reserve for any development with BLQ (which is stupid, but anyway). I assume Chase will misinterpret something between them and sleep with Willow, which will then give Dante and BLQ the go-ahead should anything happen; FV will never allow Brook to be seen as more than largely innocent and the party injured first. But if something does happen between her and Dante I doubt it will last or be much more than one night, which renders this whole long hold kind of silly. I think Mulcahey's evolution of Drew into a cad and political wheeler and dealer made sense (though it needed more insight) as Billy Miller's Drew and Cameron's had already had that businessman side and Aurora, but where he's gone since was more extreme and has had much less explanation and depth. I enjoy the changed character but we've all talked about it needing exploration.
  6. What I've never understood is why Jessie and Dan Rooney never went anywhere. Or him and Ruby for that matter. I figured it was Emily McLaughlin's BTS issues in the first case, but who knows.
  7. How long was Jackie gone in this period?
  8. It would be insane to go there again now, let alone so soon after John. I don't think Marlena ever needs another romance tbqh. You don't top John Black. What exactly is the explanation re: Stefano's demise this time? I thought he died years ago.
  9. God, I remember watching that special when it aired too.
  10. Yeah, I suspect Grayson is either a red herring or an unwilling accomplice. I would hope he continues on regardless because I do think Jordi is doing solid work and actually has chemistry with Ashley. Chelsea and Madison's insta-romance grew on me a bit during and then following the kidnapping, after which it was more low-key and they had some more natural material. Now it just seems like a recipe for future disaster, but that can be good drama. I wonder if the mother angle will be picked up again. I still think Derek is turning psycho.
  11. Didn't John Colicos also come back briefly as either another Cassadine or a random guy who was a Mikkos ringer? Or am I mixing him up with this dude? Like Franko, I also have always wanted to see them use Rick Webber Jr., and sort of try to play off that name brand fame (as DAYS tried and failed to do with Doug III recently, but I think that was a fault of the writing and having him scam widow Julie as opposed to a problem with another young troublemaker like Doug Sr.). I remember silly rumors in the early '00s that Zander would turn out to be Rick Jr. which of course did not happen.
  12. Hudson West (Jake Webber, GH) stars in the new horror film The Arborist. (For work reasons I have seen it; it is not great but he is quite good in it.)
  13. Port Charles' own Demi Moore (Jackie Templeton, GH) costars in I Love Boosters with Keke Palmer.
  14. A favorite of Stuart Damon's, and reportedly only up for a few days. Alan and Monica are in rare form. Luke has just dispatched David Grey with his psychic powers and is about to head off on his camping trip where he will meet Holly Sutton and her mullet. Quick question re: these recent classic 1982 episodes. Am I mistaken or was Demi Moore's Jackie originally intended for Luke before they quickly pivoted her to Robert? That would at least be some variety after LNL. It seems insane to me that even Monty at the height of her powers and ego would've seriously believed she could put over a same-name Laura doppelgänger (Laura Templeton) with Tony Geary. Just looking at her in this episode feels wrong. I have no idea what became of Laura #2. Losing Denise Alexander in a couple years really was such a huge unforced error. Not unlike how Monty ultimately x'ed herself out by taking punitive measures against Finola in '91, which brought the whole empire down.
  15. Katelyn MacMullen talks Willow's latest crime spree.
  16. I don't believe it either. They were also shutting down material for Aiden well before JJ returned, during the Mulcahey period. And again, the previous young Aidens cannot act. They are not an option. If this "source" is who I think it is we should all know better than to give them the time of day.
  17. No Willow or Drew in the spoilers again? Really, Frank?
  18. Enzo de Angelis also couldn't act, so there's that.
  19. I suspect they have begun to internalize the relentless online mockery of BLQ's wardrobe. She's been in two or three open-necked tops in the last few eps that are considerably more stylish and loose than her usual North Korean/widow's weeds couture. It's an improvement at least.
  20. Solo scenes between Jordan and DA Sidwell's Wife are not advisable, breakdown writers. Another suicide gut check for the daily viewer.
  21. Kismet moment of the day: Ric looking at Molly rambling on about her idiotic book tiff with Cody and thinking about how his marital problems at her age were locking women in secret birthing dungeons behind the TV.
  22. Llanview's own Laurence Fishburne (OLTL) will co-star with Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Diane Lane in Mike Flanagan's new Exorcist film.
  23. All that being said: Yesterday's ending with Emma being dragged out screaming and sobbing by Mac and Felicia proves they should be playing BB five days a week. If Frank still can't see that over Eden he's certifiable. She's the young Brenda here (provided they don't clean her up too much).
  24. I am so tired of her being weak, dependent on Jason/Sonny, crying and struggling for months or years over Valentin or Charlolte or whatever else. I am tired of Finola leaping into this stuff just to show her range. They've all done wonderful work, particularly BB and Finola with Kristina. That bond between them is still so strong after all these decades, and the show has been wise to lean into it with them in recent years as well as with JJY and previously Jon Lindstrom before he decamped to BTG. But I am ready for Anna to be strong, in charge and imperious again. And with a man worthy of her. I just dunno if it'll ever happen. The offscreen rescue of Anna I was expecting given the drop-in taping of her imprisonment and the goofy cliffhanger they left it on with the fake Faison approaching her in the dark. They've done that shít a lot with that kind of block-taped stuff in recent times. But everything with Jason and Britt during the storm has been a debacle. Again, I suspect pulling back on the physical intimacy again will seal her fate. What else is there with them?
