  1. Thanks for posting that - that was the episode that won him the Emmy in 1989. To think that Pat and Vanna are still on WHEEL after all these years - and they don't look all that different!!
  2. A Martinez will be starring for the next two months in an LA-based production of Othello, in the title role: http://shakespeareinla.com/2014/09/16/a-martinez-and-jack-stehlin-to-star-in-othello-directed-by-john-perrin-flynn/
  3. A Martinez (SB, GH, B&B, OLTL) will be starring for the next two months in an LA-based production of Othello, in the title role: http://shakespeareinla.com/2014/09/16/a-martinez-and-jack-stehlin-to-star-in-othello-directed-by-john-perrin-flynn/
  4. Here's a 1982 article about SFT's move to NBC and the stars' travels to different cities to promote it: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=266&dat=19820327&id=6NYwAAAAIBAJ&sjid=v-AFAAAAIBAJ&pg=1190,3580079
  5. Wrapping a tricycle with crepe paper! Too funny. I love little scenes like that.
  6. I was trying to think of who she reminded me of, and yes - she does really resemble Susan Walters both in looks and mannerisms. I wonder whatever happened to Pamela Toll.
  7. They didn't put Kelly into Kevin's orbit until Tim Gibbs played him, right? I always felt that was another case of JFP-propping.
  8. They'd boycott the studios!!!
  9. Didn't she have a baby IRL around that time?
  10. Great article - I always love the BTS/on the set photos.
  11. Yeah, I heard he had a small role on SFT, but I'm thinking it was maybe as an under-5 or something like that. I can't find a character name for him.
  12. I'll have to read that book again - my library has it. He seemed to fit in much better on SB as Lionel Lockridge, who seemed to have the same sense of fun and adventure as his portrayer.
  13. I mean, who doesn't miss the shoulder pads big enough to fit on an NFL player and all the sequins, glitter, and (GASP) real furs?
  14. Thanks!! That is indeed a wonderful find.
  15. Thank goodness it didn't take long at all for David Canary to find the perfect role(s) for him after his AW stint. I think he got AMC the same year he got cut from AW...and the rest is history.
  16. I'm sure they had to know it was a strong possibility.
  17. I love this show and Carolee Campbell's cheerfulness and humor is a welcome break from the Althea/Nick/Liz drama. Loved her first meeting with Steve!! I can't wait until he begins to get more screen time.
  18. Kelly Wood's character was the birth mother of Eric, right? Then she died and it was up to Scott and Kathy to raise him?
  19. Here is a 1976 review of a musical version of Gone With the Wind, starring Sherry Mathis as Scarlett and a pre-AMC David Canary as Rhett: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2206&dat=19760721&id=U2MzAAAAIBAJ&sjid=aOoFAAAAIBAJ&pg=652,263800
  20. I remember her - so sorry to hear. May she RIP.
  21. I found the story of Althea's pregnancy and the morals clause fascinating. I wanted to know more about it and didn't have to go further than the living room to find out from someone who would know firsthand. My mother is a retired RN. She graduated from nursing school (a Lutheran nursing school) in 1964, worked for a couple of years and by 1967 (when these episodes were airing) went back to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland for post-graduate studies. I asked her about the morality clause. She said that yes - the nurses and the nurses-in-training had to be above reproach, couldn't be pregnant when unmarried and were not allowed to date doctors - interns or residents. She said that the medical community at large was very strict about the morals clause. Mom also said that she's not sure when the morals clause fell by the boards because she spent the majority of her nursing career in home health care. She didn't work in a hospital or doctor's office once she was done with her training - though she worked one year as a school nurse at an elementary school, and often went to clinics to give flu shots and such. Anyway, just thought I'd give you the firsthand word of someone in the medical field who was in nursing at the time of this show and who knew about the morals clause.
  22. I don't know how true that is, either, but Nic Coster once said on FB that he and Considine were both the pranksters of AW, and that they would sometimes get it from Rauch. Coster likened it to being sent to the principal's office!!
  23. I never knew they had starred in a project before he came to AMC. Nice find.
