  1. Boy, that Robert story sure had everyone in a tizzy, didn't it? I'm surprised Eden didn't go all the way with him - in a good way. She didn't cheat on Cruz, at least physically. But it sure was a big emotional entanglement that took up a good portion of story for 1989 and 1990.
  2. OK, I will spill one detail - a pre-RH Bernie Barrow (credited as Bernard E. Barrow) appears in the second episode as a news reporter. Anyone familiar with him will recognize the voice immediately - he's in a trench coat and wearing glasses - and no hairpiece.
  3. Thanks!! It could be both, but I'm guessing probably the mellowing of years. The two ladies were barely out of their teens at the outset of AMC, and with age comes maturity (most of the time, anyway).
  4. The most recent episodes posted today (2/1 and 2/2/1968) are a double whammy!! I won't spoil anything, but they are truly must-see!!
  5. Congrats to Sharon Gabet - "Raven" just became the grandmother of twin girls!! The mother is her oldest child, Jasmine - whom Sharon was pregnant with in 1984 just as EON was winding down.
  6. I wonder what Karen Gorney thinks of Susan Lucci now!!!
  7. I, too, get a kick out of Gloria Monty's facial expression. She probably already knew the stunt casting was a bad idea!!
  8. Thanks for posting these interviews!! Very cool.
  9. Yes, Liz was in both episodes. Yes, her neighbor/stalker is seriously creepy. He has that Ted Bundy/John Lennon assassin (who I refuse to mention by name) look to him. I like Martha already - and even Nick didn't chew her out that much. Sadly, Sally Gracie and Gerald Gordon passed away the same week - she on August 13, 2001, and he went four days later on the 17th. Thank you, Maggie, for verbalizing what we all want to hear - "I want Karen out of my house - NOW!!!" Too bad Matt was out of his office when she said that. Honestly, if Karen came parading up to Matt in a negligee and was purring about how much she admires him, he still wouldn't have a clue!! I also can't wait for Althea to be back, which sounds like it will be soon. The sooner Dr. Davis and Liz Wilson are back at Hope Memorial, the better - and with the embittered reporter Nathan Bunker lurking around, the fireworks should be fun to watch.
  10. I look forward to seeing these new characters.
  11. Is there any more romantic place to have a tryst than a treehouse? They couldn't even spring for a hotel??
  12. Did Susan Lucci and Karen Gorney have a lot of scenes together? How did they play off each other? I know that when the show was casting the parts, they had originally auditioned for each other's roles.
  13. I never thought of Tracy Scoggins as a Fallon recast, but she had the look and the ferocious screen presence that PSM projected in the role. Good catch.
  14. Interesting! Didn't Lisa Peluso also do one of those reading PSAs when she was on Loving?
  15. In profile, she looks a bit like Eileen Fulton!! From OLTL, here is Judith Light reuniting with her Who's the Boss? leading man, Tony Danza. It was at a Broadway event this past week (10/23). Here is the article and photo: https://celebrity.yahoo.com/news/whos-boss-stars-tony-danza-judith-light-reunite-154500114-us-weekly.html
  16. Was it Terry's Jack who coined the phrase "The Mustache", or was it Peter's?
  17. Split season DVDs are one of the STUPIDEST ideas ever!!!
  18. The Yanni comment just has me ROFL!!!!
  19. I can see all of them waiting in line with baseball bats, wrenches, boxing gloves, etc., just like one of my favorite scenes in Airplane!! LOL Seriously, of course, at the top of the list of suspects would be Nick. Whatever he dished out on John Rice would be a million times worse for Mr. Bunker!!! Here's another TD anecdote from Inside the Soaps: An established actor on The Doctors for a single day's work, playing a visiting doctor, had a big scene with Dr. Matt Powers (James Pritchett). The actor blanked out and Pritchett began to repeat the other actor's lines and then ask, "Isn't that true?" The actor stumbled through the scene, unable to recall a single line. Then, when the scene was finally over, he rushed out of the studio, walked out of the NBC building...and never came back.
  20. Even though he was so often overshadowed by that firecracker Kim Zimmer, I don't think Robert Newman ever got enough credit for his portrayal of Josh. I think his low-key approach meshed very well with her super energy - and when he was given decent material he always ran with it. Too bad most of the stories he was given in the last years were turkeys, but then we can say that for most of the vets.
  21. LOL at the Publisher's Clearinghouse comment. It would have been great - even greater if they had gotten Dick Clark and Ed McMahon to cameo!!
  22. Some of those commercials sure haven't dated well, have they? Yikes!!
  23. First off, I LOVED Maggie's gown - the light green Grecian design is so similar to some of the gowns Elizabeth Montgomery wore on Bewitched, which of course was also still going strong in 1968. What a happy dinner party, huh? I've had dates more comfortable than that (which isn't saying much, LOL). It's interesting in light of what happens in future story, too. Thankfully Maggie has confronted Matt about Karen's designs on him, which are so blatantly obvious to everyone except him. It's well past time someone did. I also like that the wife is clearly aware of what is going on, which of course would not be the case on a soap today. One-way phone calls from Althea and Liz. Liz still doesn't know that Althea is no longer pregnant, and Althea knows nothing about Liz running off. I hope both will come back on-screen soon!!! The canvas isn't nearly as interesting without them - especially that force of nature known as Liz Hubbard.
  24. From the 1984 book Inside the Soaps by Paul Denis: Often, actors who are "heavy" on a soap (being used three or four times a week) become so confused learning and then forgetting their lines, that they get foggy even away from the TV studio. Jason Bonderoff, editor of Daytime TV magazine, recalls the story about David O'Brien (who played Dr. Steve Aldrich on The Doctors) walking down Eighth Avenue in New York and being stopped by a stranger. The stranger cornered him, held him and complained, "Hey, David, don't you remember me?" David couldn't remember him at all. The "stranger" was his agent!!
