It would have been interesting had they kept Linda Gibboney on as Gina, maybe they could have cast Robin Mattson as her sister (there were said at one point to be several Blake siblings, including Summer and Mack). Interesting that they both played vixens on AMC (albeit at different times) as well. SantaBarbaraNBC, have you found Episode 152 yet? (Sorry to be a nag - just curious.)

According to Retro TV, no episode was skipped. I guess the making up and Penny guilting Nick into the formal wedding all took place off-screen. However, today we only got one "new" episode as they reran yesterday's second episode as today's first. GRRRR...

Apparently the Richard Roundtree episode won't be on next week after all. My DVR instead shows that TV One will be rerunning the Cooley High episode.

Steve Bassett was SCARY. Rape or no, it's no wonder Christie was terrified of him. Every time he yelled and screamed, he even scared me a little. LOL Ashby Adams made a fantastic villain. Ironically, his real-life wife has the screen persona as one of the sweetest gals on classic TV - Linda Kaye Henning aka Petticoat Junction's Betty Jo Bradley.

Why exactly did Bev McKinsey leave? Was it fatigue, the de-clawing of Iris, something else or a combination of things?

Not to mention it could be confusing for viewers as well, trying to keep up with two different eras of the show. Penny, your well-intentioned though unwelcome plans have really come back to bite you this time! I wonder how Nick will come around. Another sign of the times, but it was disturbing to see Maggie give pregnant Karen a drink - as it was to know that the fellas, who were out tying one on, were driving as well. Here's a 1977 article about Carolee Campbell and David O'Brien. She had already left the show by then, but the two had reunited to act in a play. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1961&dat=19770319&id=FxYvAAAAIBAJ&sjid=towFAAAAIBAJ&pg=1228,4325520

Yes, the tunnel collapse gave everyone involved great material to work with, in particular Louise Sorel. That was the catalyst to bring in Julia. I got a kick out of neither Lionel nor Warren recognizing Julia because she used to be very fat!!!

I believe by this point Lydia was a permanent member of the cast. I believe it was August of 1968 that the announcement came that Bethel wouldn't be returning. How great is the bridal shower thus far? Can't wait to see Nick's bachelor party with he, Matt and Ed barhopping.

Peter Burnell's real name was Burnell Sitterly, and yes, he did take his own life in early 1987: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1987-01-09/news/0100090252_1_sitterly-acting-career-burnell

Every picture I've seen of Laryssa as Karen in the 70s, she still has the short brunette wig.

I really don't think SB truly came together until the Duvall rape trial, which introduced Harley Kozak as the unforgettable Mary Duvall, there in support of her sister Christie. It finally gave Lane Davies a truly meaty story. With great couplings like Eden/Cruz, Amy/Brick and then Mason/Mary, everything just gelled in the summer of 1985.
