  1. As someone here posted upthread, it would have been great if ATWT had been able to get Gerald Gordon - even in a short-term role - and reteam him with his love interest on The Doctors, Liz Hubbard. There could have been a love triangle with him caught between Lucinda and Lisa. Or - Lucinda could have been torn between a GG character and John Dixon. Better still, a love quadrangle involving all of these four could have been created. Oh, the possibilities!!
  2. Thanks! Yes, it is. In the same week, I had successes from both him and his The Doctors co-star, Liz Hubbard - both of them still going strong in their 80s.
  3. Are there any vintage soap magazines that have interviews with Paul Michael Glaser (who was on both this show and on LOL) in his pre-Starsky days?
  4. Love Susan Brown (and Peter Hansen)!! Great photo.
  5. Good ol' Ted McGinley, the patron saint of jumping the shark. LOL
  6. Liz was also engaged at one point to actor Brian Avery, who played the groom that Elaine Robinson (Katharine Ross) dumped at the altar to run away with Ben Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) in The Graduate. Jeremy Bennett accompanied his mom to the event for Martha Byrne's Weight, back in October 2014. He was an adorable little boy in the pictures in the vintage articles and grew up to become a VERY good-looking young man. Does anyone know if David Bennett is still alive? Does anyone know what happened to his fur business - in light of the anti-fur movement in the form of groups like PETA? I got another autograph success through the mail today from an actor who is not in the reruns we're seeing yet but would become the show's villain du joir in the early 70s - Patrick Horgan (Dr. John Morrison). He also appeared on EON, RH and several other soaps in short-term roles. I also got the autograph of his wife, Susie Bedsow-Horgan, best known for her stint as EP of OLTL in the mid-90s.
  7. Today I had a through-the-mail autograph success from both Patrick Horgan (Thatcher Ross) and his wife, Susie Bedsow-Horgan, best known for her stint as EP of OLTL in the mid-90s. I liked the character of Thatcher Ross and felt more could have been done with him. He really did work well with Nikki Goulet.
  8. I recall reading (I believe it was in Gerry Waggett's AW Trivia Book) that when the show wanted to celebrate Vicky Wyndham's 25th anniversary on the show in 1997, neither NBC nor P&G had saved any tapes of the show prior to 1980 and had to make a request to fans via the internet to see if they had any of her key moments as Rachel pre-1980 in their own personal collections. They got enough footage from fans to use in that episode. When was the fire that destroyed a lot of tapes of NBC shows? I'm wondering if any of those lost were the three The First Ladies Diaries specials that aired in 1975-76 in conjunction with the Bicentennial (and the Martha Washington one featured AW's James Luisi and garnered him an Emmy), and 1977's This is My Son, which starred TD's Carolee Campbell as the mother of a special needs child and won her an Emmy. I would LOVE to see them all and wonder if they exist anywhere anymore. No luck on YT, eBay or iOffer.
  9. At long, LONG last, Liz has been rescued and Townsend has gone completely off the deep end. I guess now that this story is finally coming to an end, the next will revolve around the birth of the Aldrich baby.
  10. OK, I never knew that. Thanks!! I should check YT again and see if anything from Jacquie's short-lived stint on Loving as a madam is there. It wasn't last time I checked. Did anyone see her on that show, playing against type?
  11. Hugh Marlowe's son Chris ended up on the very short-lived 1979 NBC sitcom Highcliffe Manor, starring Shelley Fabares (post-The Donna Reed Show and pre-Coach) and a couple of familiar faces from soaps - Gerald Gordon (TD, GH) and Audrey Landers (post-Somerset and pre-Dallas).
  12. Yes! Ilene once said on FB that she still has the blouse she wore in the cover photo.
  13. DramatistDreamer, thank you and I agree. She seems to be more like Althea than Lucinda as far as being laidback and enjoying life.
  14. Thank you, vetsoapfan. Did you ever tune in to see the brief later appearances JC (1984-85, 1989) and GR (1989) made on AW?
  15. The blurb about Ann Williams was pretty sad, because if she was pregnant in 1967 she would have had to lose the baby (her four children were born in 1965, 1969, 1971 and 1977).
  16. No, they divorced sometime in 1969 or 1970. He remarried years later to an actress/writer named Nancy McCormick, and they were together until his passing in 2001 (per his obit in the NY Times).
  17. Thank you for posting these, jam!! Ironically, I sent out the letter and photos to Liz in the same day's mail as the ones to Jennifer Houlton - April 14th. Both responded very quickly!!
  18. Yes, Gregory had his pick of rival network stars to dunk in the big water tank, and he picked Randi. Ahhh, true love. Anyway, while all these cable channels have a lot to offer - the days of just three networks (and in most houses, one TV) are just a bygone era now. Things seemed so simple then...but then again, I was a kid during the 80s, too. LOL
  19. Those are indeed great. Judith McConnell is ageless. Also loved the reunion with A, Nic and Robin M.
  20. I am so excited!!!! Guess whose autograph I got in the mail today - complete with a handwritten note? LIZ HUBBARD!!!! Hopefully we can have them up soon for everyone to see!!!!
  21. From many articles I've read from both the Google News Archives and soap mags of the day, plus Carolee herself via email - she chose to leave the show, and not too long after, quit show biz altogether. After leaving TD, she and David O'Brien were in a play together, and then she did a special called This is My Son, where she played the mother of a special needs child (and won an Emmy for it). The latter turned out to be her swan song to acting. She then began her own publishing company, which she has run for many years: http://www.ninjapressbooks.com/
  22. I also loved BOTNS - especially the dunk tank. Billy and Tracy were paired in one of the tandem bike races. Ironically, true love bloomed out of one of those specials. That's where Gregory Harrison (then on CBS' Trapper John, M.D.) met Randi Oakes (then on NBC's CHiPs). They've been married for many years now.
  23. Yes, I hope you don't mind - saynotoursoap. That was the only episode I could find her in. Yes, it was very sweet of her to sign them for me and add a thank you card and an additional picture. I sent the screencaps and a letter off on April 14th and got them back signed (with her additional goodies) on April 25th. Carl, I will ask those questions and see what she has to say. If she answers them, I will post them here right away.
  24. Thank you, vetsoapfan. Did you watch AW for its entire run?
