  1. OK, I never knew that. Thanks!! I should check YT again and see if anything from Jacquie's short-lived stint on Loving as a madam is there. It wasn't last time I checked. Did anyone see her on that show, playing against type?
  2. Hugh Marlowe's son Chris ended up on the very short-lived 1979 NBC sitcom Highcliffe Manor, starring Shelley Fabares (post-The Donna Reed Show and pre-Coach) and a couple of familiar faces from soaps - Gerald Gordon (TD, GH) and Audrey Landers (post-Somerset and pre-Dallas).
  3. Yes! Ilene once said on FB that she still has the blouse she wore in the cover photo.
  4. DramatistDreamer, thank you and I agree. She seems to be more like Althea than Lucinda as far as being laidback and enjoying life.
  5. Thank you, vetsoapfan. Did you ever tune in to see the brief later appearances JC (1984-85, 1989) and GR (1989) made on AW?
  6. The blurb about Ann Williams was pretty sad, because if she was pregnant in 1967 she would have had to lose the baby (her four children were born in 1965, 1969, 1971 and 1977).
  7. No, they divorced sometime in 1969 or 1970. He remarried years later to an actress/writer named Nancy McCormick, and they were together until his passing in 2001 (per his obit in the NY Times).
  8. Thank you for posting these, jam!! Ironically, I sent out the letter and photos to Liz in the same day's mail as the ones to Jennifer Houlton - April 14th. Both responded very quickly!!
  9. Yes, Gregory had his pick of rival network stars to dunk in the big water tank, and he picked Randi. Ahhh, true love. Anyway, while all these cable channels have a lot to offer - the days of just three networks (and in most houses, one TV) are just a bygone era now. Things seemed so simple then...but then again, I was a kid during the 80s, too. LOL
  10. Those are indeed great. Judith McConnell is ageless. Also loved the reunion with A, Nic and Robin M.
  11. I am so excited!!!! Guess whose autograph I got in the mail today - complete with a handwritten note? LIZ HUBBARD!!!! Hopefully we can have them up soon for everyone to see!!!!
  12. From many articles I've read from both the Google News Archives and soap mags of the day, plus Carolee herself via email - she chose to leave the show, and not too long after, quit show biz altogether. After leaving TD, she and David O'Brien were in a play together, and then she did a special called This is My Son, where she played the mother of a special needs child (and won an Emmy for it). The latter turned out to be her swan song to acting. She then began her own publishing company, which she has run for many years: http://www.ninjapressbooks.com/
  13. I also loved BOTNS - especially the dunk tank. Billy and Tracy were paired in one of the tandem bike races. Ironically, true love bloomed out of one of those specials. That's where Gregory Harrison (then on CBS' Trapper John, M.D.) met Randi Oakes (then on NBC's CHiPs). They've been married for many years now.
  14. Yes, I hope you don't mind - saynotoursoap. That was the only episode I could find her in. Yes, it was very sweet of her to sign them for me and add a thank you card and an additional picture. I sent the screencaps and a letter off on April 14th and got them back signed (with her additional goodies) on April 25th. Carl, I will ask those questions and see what she has to say. If she answers them, I will post them here right away.
  15. Thank you, vetsoapfan. Did you watch AW for its entire run?
  16. Didn't she also get into a beef with ABC about the length of her hair? It seems that Sarah was very vocal about her character and what she should look like, and I have to say she was right (and was certainly a classic Labine/Mayer character under her watch). Maybe ABC decided they just didn't want to deal with her anymore in 1980 when they bought the show from Labine/Mayer.
  17. Jennifer Runyon, who was playing Sally then, commented on those episodes on Facebook. "I was a baby!" LOL Of course, Brady fans got a kick out of seeing her with Chris Knight (as Leigh Hobson). She said he was the only person she knew when she took over for Susan Olsen in A Very Brady Christmas.
  18. Finally, FINALLY there is some momentum in the Liz/Townsend story - and Matt is seeing that Phillip is losing it. All I can say is - it's about freaking time. I had another email from Carolee, where she answered a couple of questions I and no doubt others watching have been wondering about - such as what the actors were saying in the scenes underneath the credits with the theme music drowning out their words, and also who her best friends in the cast were aside from David O'Brien: "Please forgive me for taking so long to return your email. I’ve been in New York where I got sick and brought the sickness home with me. I’m only now beginning to recover. It was lovely of you to forward Jami Fields’ letter. I never knew her very well. She was quite young when she was on the show with me and we didn’t have much in common. You ask if any cast members were close to me besides David. I was quite close to Sally Gracie. I adored her. I was also close to Jim Pritchett and his family. While it’s true that everyone spent a lot of time together while we were at work, our lives were quite divergent with different interests. Other than the cast, I was close to the sound man and one of the directors. We definitely staying in character during the crawl and ad libbed what the character might have continued to say. Why? Because of all the viewers who can read lips. Continuing fine regards to you, Carolee" Today, I had another TD autograph success, although this lady is not in the reruns we're seeing as she would join the cast later on. That would be Jennifer Houlton, who grew up onscreen as Greta. Not only did she sign the screen caps I had sent, she added another of her as Greta holding baby Lee Ann as well as a sweet handwritten note. What a doll. I will send the pictures to Carl or jam so they can display them here (one of these days I will have to start a Photobucket account so I can post pictures here myself). Speaking of Jennifer Houlton, here is an interview with her from 1980. Apparently, she was very close off-screen to her TV parents, Jim Pritchett and Lydia Bruce. https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1870&dat=19800316&id=_4sfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=NtMEAAAAIBAJ&pg=2646,426415&hl=en
  19. They could have easily passed for brothers, and I believe they were also in one or two of the same Battle of the Network Stars specials. I've seen a few of those on ESPN Classics, and Billy was one of the most gifted athletes of all the network stars assembled (same goes for Mark Harmon).
  20. She could act, sing, was gorgeous - and from everything I've read and heard, was just as beautiful on the inside. So sad that she went so young.
  21. It's a shame that Sarah Felder never did another soap again - or any other screen role. She was a force of nature.
  22. Great blog, Timmy, thank you for sharing!!
  23. Is it just me, or did Billy Moses look a lot like Dean Butler (LHOP) back then?
