Random thoughts from today's episode: Weren't they going to shoot B&S at the Pub? That set is being used for the most random scenes. Because there is no teenaged girl who would find a smelly old pub by the docks romantic. Shouldn't Marie be informed about the stolen necklace? As Alice's only living child, she's more entitled to it than Julie. In fact, IIRC, Jen inherited the Horton House, while Julie and Chad are merely guests. So, legally, any property on the grounds should be Jen's. Chad is randomly missing because he is in “Orlando” with the kids? I get that they can't reference Disney, but I wonder why they don't plug Universal Florida? Goodness knows, they plug every other NBC-U product any chance that they get. So, it has been established that Holly is 18. Did she and Tate flunk last year because they missed so much school? It also brings into question Sophia's age, and when she'll be old enough to consent for her own medical procedures? Does Maggie need another portrait of her and Vic? Isn't anyone else hiring besides the Salem PD?

Although it feels natural for any teen guy to lie under these circumstances, there really is no motivation. Holly knows they had sex. It was a mistake. And they could use her support. Happy Hanukkah to all, and thank you @AbcNbc247 for making it such a fun year to interact and share ideas. And a special shout out to @carolineg for putting up with all my memory lapses.

While we're wishing, I wish we got more of the backstory of Carl and Donna. The idea of PS's Donna having no agency when Reginald returned made me think about what must have initially attracted Donna to Carl. I assume, he was her way of getting out from under her father's thumb. She learned to be a woman, a hostess, and a mother to Perry. So, it would've been fun to have Carl return and create a Carl/Donna/Michael triangle. Michael reminded her of forgotten dreams, while Carl made her think about possibilities. Michael wanted to turn her into a traditional/responsible mother. And, Carl loved her appreciation for aesthetics. In the end, Carl would be using her to gain intel in order to take over the company from Reginald, enabling her to get back to Michael. But, I just want to know more about the part of her life when she was Mrs. Hutchins.

Dallas Discussion Thread
The exterior shot looks suspiciously like the building that Mark Jennings fell from on Dynasty. At the very least, they both appear to be on the Wilshire corridor in LA and neither in Dallas nor Denver. How did they explain JR surviving being shot? After Kristen, did he wear a bulletproof vest whenever he was around the Sheppard women?

Dallas Discussion Thread
Can someone remind me? How was the 1988 season finale resolved when Nicholas Pearce (aka Jack Scalia) fell to his death after being pushed from a balcony during a fight with JR, and then Sue Ellen shot JR with her gun? I just saw the scene on TikTok, and it feels as if they wrote themselves into a corner. However, one assumes they found a way out of it with a single episode.

On streaming, do we no longer get the breaking of the fourth wall to wish the audience a Merry Christmas? Or, did I just turn it off before the credits? “From all of us at Days of Our Lives to all of you, Merry Christmas!” - in the olden days, it sent a chill of excitement up my spine, and I'm Jewish.

from SOD Arnold confessed to murdering Fay (Nicole's mother). Cornered, he agreed to go into Witness Protection and testify against the DiMeras, but while he was in jail, another inmate killed him — or so everyone thought until he returned to Salem some 13 years later and knocked on EJ’s door…. I thought this was intriguing, given how little contact Johnny and Rafe have had: EJ was fuming over the possibility of losing his kids, and how much the children adored their stepfather only enraged him further. Personally, what I find funny is that I recall Carolyn Hinsey writing about him in her terribly written memoir. In my Amazon review from 2011 I wrote, “It also reads as if it were written last week. I'm sure that if I go back to read this book in a year, I won't remember Rafe-2, but the story is referenced without any context.” But now I realize at least one person unfortunately remembered that plot.

But, Hattie didn't do anything. And, Rafe's a dick for trying to get a person arrested without any probable cause. While Jada has enough wisdom to know that the Salem PD is not the local gestapo, and you can't jail your enemies without evidence in order to charge them with a crime. And she definitely wouldn't screw up an investigation by have the complainant interrogate the criminal prior to their arrest.

Is there a bat signal in Salem every time someone needs Belle's legal expertise? How does she instantly appear at the police station? And why would she agree to represent Hattie? I agree with the prediction that Ava's stalker is totally Rachel (love that devilish kid, and I hope they don't age her too soon). Interesting that Gabi would go on a date at Small Bistro, given (a) that's where she was shot by Dimitri, and (b) there's a good chance that she would've run into Ava on her date. I also find their cocktail menu intriguing in that there are so many Latin American drinks. Is there any hope that JJ won't become a cop again? I'd like him to go back to being a little less straight laced, and a little more morally ambivalent.

If it is Rafe II, I will throw hands (although, I think his doppelgänger was created by another writer). 🤪✍🏼️😠 Although if it was a character played by another actor, I'd think we would get a casting announcement in advance. And I don't think the nutty nurse kidnapper had any interactions with Rafe (did she?)

All My Children Tribute Thread
I hadn't recalled, but I checked the wiki, and the irony is that RB only returned for a year! Of course, she returned again, but that's a lot of hoopla for a year. Greenlee Smythe is a character from the soap opera All My Children, portrayed by Rebecca Budig from August 11, 1999 to November 30, 2005, and was portrayed by actress Sabine Singh from April 20, 2007 to January 15, 2008. On December 14, 2007, it was announced that Budig accepted the offer to reprise the role, and would continue her portrayal of the character. Episodes with Budig began airing again January 16, 2008. Budig again departed the role on February 17, 2009, the day the character was killed off. In the June 29, 2009 issue of ABC Soaps in Depth magazine, head writer Charles Pratt, Jr. confirmed they had written Greenlee to remain alive, but that Budig would be making no immediate plans to return to the show. On October 8, 2009, it was confirmed that Budig would return to the show in December. Budig returned on December 23, 2009 and remained with the series until its finale on September 23, 2011.

DAYS: December 2024 Spoilers
The citizens of Salem are literally tripping over themselves to forgive Xander. Who arguably is only slightly worse than Clyde. Yes, he hasn't killed anyone. But, not for lack of trying. I mean, he blackmailed Jack for The Spectator, which was his lifelong passion. But, one kid and a little hair gel later, they're friends? I don't get the charm trumping poor behavior.

Today's episode 6/10 I sort of like these episodes when people just catch up and talk, but I still wish that they'd edit it so that we could see a full conversation rather than two lines of dialogue at a time. I am immune to Brady's charm. The guy went from pining over Theresa for two minutes, to Fiona, then Ava, and we're supposed to think he's just a romantic softie. He's a 53-year-old homeless due with a poorly dyed beard. Where's the sophistication of an Anna/Tony romance? However, I'm glad that Holly's not stupid. She's read the room, she's got Sophia's number, and she's smart about sex. The highlight for me was the rather frank discussion about abortion. Soaps usually just sweep the option under the rug. But, here we got an actual social issue that is messing with these kids that we like. Good for them. Although, I know it is the natural inclination of most teens to keep this information from their fathers. You'd think, after recent events, that Tate might confide in Brady.

In a convoluted soap opera way, it might've made more sense if Cody was an embryo that was made at the same time as Serena, and later implanted by Rex into another woman to hold onto the family fortune. But, that would've made him Scotty's son, and goodness knows, Scotty's already had too many long-lost kids come out of the woodwork.

Wasn't that her exit story, after she returned from being kidnapped by Lucas? She came back, there was a brief rapprochement, then Belle and EJ banged to the boogie, Sami found out, told Shawn, and went back to wherever (Los Angeles?). But apparently did not spend much time with Johnny, who IIRC came to town after she left, and hasn't talked to her once since then… I hope Chanel grows a backbone before Sami returns. I'd love her as the mother-in-law from hell.
