  1. Wa Wa We Wa - nobody told me that we were getting shirtless Shawn-D today! That's enough for me to tune in. Instant blackouts, are so soapy. When was the last time you knew someone who was able to change for bed, get under the covers, keep their hair nice, but still have no memory of the night before. Nobody throws up, or has puffy eyes. They just arise, fresh as a daisy, wondering about the night before. Yes, they drank a lot of shots, but they were hardly blackout drunk. Also, why isn't anyone getting ready for the wedding?
  2. Xander and Sarah live with Maggie. And even Julie lives in her mother/grandmother's house.
  3. Assuming Shawn still lives at Hope's house, are Alex and Stephanie currently the only adults, with parents living in Salem, who don't live within their parents home?
  4. NAC was paid to attend the men's fashion shows in Paris and Milan for the last month. That is part of his job. I'm sure it seems frivolous, but that's just a basic misunderstanding of the economic opportunities for a young actor.
  5. I wonder if we should give him more of a pass because of his mental illness? An exaggerated sense of self, along with delusions of grandeur, are common symptoms of the bipolar experience. So, as much as I find MB's ego grating, I also dismiss it as part of the illness that has brought him a great amount of suffering. I am not trying to condemn anyone for criticizing his poor interviewing style. It is just that my first thought always assumes that it is a byproduct of his disorder. Which is not an excuse, but more of an insight into how hard it must be to work and act beside him.
  6. Now that Javi knows Leo fenced Alice's necklace, I keep going back to my question from last week. Javi and Kerry really cared for each other. They seem well suited, and his family liked him. So, why is his job as LadyWhistleblower an offense worth breaking up over, while Leo selling Alice's necklace gets a pass? Selling a stolen family heirloom seems much worse, considering Javi came to Salem coveting the heirloom that his mother left Rafe in her will. Is it just me, or does Arnold seem to leave his brows natural, unlike Rafe who dyes them with black shoe polish? Also, I wonder if they only have to pay the actor twice for playing two character if they both appear on-screen? Maybe that's why we've only seen Arnold and Rafe together once?
  7. To be fair, that would require building a whole new set, and so far "Aremid" is just a bunch of muslin curtains that were probably repurposed dust covers.๐Ÿ˜‰
  8. I think we need to stop letting them get away with calling it DEI, and make them use the full name. I want to see some GOP donkey say that โ€œdiversity, equity, and inclusionโ€ is bad for business. Or, make the CEO of Target get on TV and say that โ€œdiversity, equity, and inclusionโ€ is tearing the culture apart. They would sound like fools. We let them get away with saying BLM, rather than Black Lives Matter and CRT rather than Critical Race Theory. So, this time, rather than boycotting for two months, or some other performative gesture, when a billionaire tries to vilify the idea, let's make them say the words so they sound as idiotic as their beliefs. Imagine the next time VP Vance is on a Sunday news show and tries to repeat his statement, โ€œThe DEI agenda is a destructive ideology that breeds hatred and racial divisionโ€ and in response Margaret Brennan just repeated back, โ€œso, you think ideas of diversity, equity, and inclusion cause racial division?โ€ It would be absurd. Make them spew their racist beliefs out loud, and don't allow them to hide behind acronyms.
  9. Let me just say this, if it turns out that Chanel slept in Shawn's bed, but they didn't have sex, then I say that she and Johnny deserve each other, because they are relentless teases! All talk, no action Also, very excited to read this in SOD #justiceforRita
  10. On Friday, I thought for sure that the Woman in White was a ghost/apparition/hallucination. She needed Rachel to dial the phone, and help hold the candlestick. So, it made sense that she was not a corporeal being. But, today, I'm not as sure, because she seemed to be able to move Ava in the chair (at least they got a new wheelchair from the one used by Sarah). Also, given her past, I'm not sure why Ava continues to investigate things on her own. Just a few months ago, her friend Melinda was being held hostage. Before that, she was assaulted in her apartment, rather than waiting for Stefan. And she almost got shot looking for Clyde. Girl, get some backup! (and remember that Stefan owns the Bistro). Small Bar got bigger, which is ironic. But, that means it is time for my favorite game: What time is it in Salem? It is the same day that Rachel ran away. But, Holly, Tate, and Sophia are out of school. Yet, Leo and Javi are having drinks. Is it cocktail time? Is it later? Is this still the same day that Bonnie fell down the elevator shaft? Who knows?
  11. Spoiler Alert: KNBC kept Santa Barbara on at 2pm, until it was cancelled
  12. I've got it!!! Maybe RonC resigned, because there was nothing left of DAYS history to mine for new stories (the possession, Aremid, Renee, masks, etc...)?๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿฅต
  13. @carolineg, @AbcNbc247 it's simple, John was an adopted, almost drowned, jewel thieving, ninja warrior, Catholic priest, who was hypnotized into going to Greece to fake the killing of a woman's child, and then assumed the identity of a small-town cop. I don't know why we think anyone messed up the continuity? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. It's kind of a scam if Marlena charges Julie for therapy. It wasn't like she used her specialized hypnosis powers, or prescribed meds. She is just talking like they would if Marlena went over to the Horton House for tea. And considering Marlena got Doug possessed by the devil, you'd think she would offer her services gratis. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿฅต Note: I know Doug was possessed first, but the devil wouldn't have been in Salem if it wasn't looking for Marlena...
  15. Perhaps this was the Instagram reel that the actor shared, showing him talking about interrupting a wedding?
  16. As I noted in Errol's article, I hope someone will address the misogyny involved in devaluing soaps as an American art form. The idea that melodrama geared toward entertaining women (and gay men), is inferior to gritty violent dramas endeared by men is an issue that needs critical re-evaluation. Similar to how disco was ridiculed in its time. Only to later be contextualized as music that was dismissed by straight DJ's because it represented the liberated anthems of Gay men and Black women. Soaps need to be honored beyond just a training ground for future famous actors.
  17. Didn't they meet on New Year's Eve? How much reminiscing could they do about the last month?
  18. Two more ideas: I wonder if Cat's mention of having a similar past to John's indicates some connection to either to Aremid or John (I hope not). Also from the Aremid wiki, I laughed at this detail: Rachel called John, who was a young priest, over to her house to talk about Stefano. Stefano eventually planted a bomb in Rachel's husband's car, but Rachel was also in the car when the bomb went off. Rachel lived, but was badly scarred. Stefano believed that Rachel was dead and he kidnapped and brainwashed John because John knew that Stefano killed the Blake's. One of the thousand retcons of John's origin story with Stefano.
  19. I love/hate episodes like this one. My first instinct is that the Woman in White is Rachel's hallucination rather than being real. For me, the clues were in the details. She couldn't dial the phone, or hold the candlestick. So, I think she'll wind up being a figment of Rachel's imagination. Also, they made a point that Rachel had $100.00, so maybe she ubered to Aremid? It is so soapy that characters are in the middle of a crisis, but stop to tell each other long bits of exposition about their history. I was waiting for Kristin to tell EJ, that right after her visit to Aremid is when she decided to entrap John with a fake pregnancy which lead to his birth! (it is so weird that they continue to only interact as siblings). My one quibble was EJ telling Kristen that he has employed Stefano's resources to find Rachel. Meanwhile, Kristen is the CEO. Why isn't she doing that? It felt sexist, as opposed to helpful. Also, I like the idea of a Kristen/Arnold romance, which is where I thought they were headed today with the tunnels, but didn't. On the other hand, Julie's grief is being written with surprising sensitivity. Except for the unnecessary Cat sighting. I really liked that Julie is more focused on her mourning than the mystery of the necklace, or whatever is happening with Doug3. It feels more organic, and DAYS always shocks me when they are able to balance the absurd with human drama. That mix is definitively DAYS for me.
  20. It is ironic that on GH Anna just had a scene with Joss where she admonished her for making them bring Cyrus in too soon, without sufficient evidence, and thereby allowing him to cover his tracks. Which felt organic and dramatic. Meanwhile, Jada is questioning Kerry and Hattie, while having zero evidence and no means of even charging them with a crime. It doesn't make Jada seem very clever. In fact, it seems very stereotypic that the female cop is being led by instinct rather than facts. Given Jada's excellent training, one would think that she could avoid the same pitfalls that undermined Rafe. Meanwhile, there are no consequences for Mayor Paulina as she goes through three DA's and two Police Commissioners in a year, and winds up hiring the daughter of her husband's best friend as the new DA. And, here's an odd coincidence, courtesy of WornOnTV, Kayla on DAYS wore the same Blouse/sweater as Natalia on GH (fyi, it was recycled from Lois's closet)
  21. That is a brilliant quote, and I look forward to cribbing it from both you and Mr. Canby.
  22. Couldn't also be that people grow and change creatively, and the way Mr. Bell felt about weddings in the 1976, was not the same way that he felt in 1986? โ€œA foolish adherence to consistency is the hobgoblin of little mindsโ€ Ralph Waldo Emerson
  23. I am honestly relieved that you took my retort with a sense of humor, as I intended. To me, when I hear about characters named Sally and Billy, it evokes a children's cartoon rather than an adult romance.
  24. @edgeofnik& @Liberty City So it's not in a creative lull and you guys love the current writing? I would not have assumed that from your postings ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜
