  1. The anti-Semitic dog whistles around the misinformation being spread on social media about the LA fires is disturbing, if not predictable. Stewart and Lynda Resnick have spent a fortune donating to the arts and cultural institutions around Los Angeles. They own Wonderful Pistachios, Pom Pomegranate Juice, and other agricultural endeavors. As a result, their businesses use a ton of water. However, none of the water has been misused to prevent the firefighters. Their farms are hundreds of miles away. On the news, we've watched helicopters grab water from the Encino reservoir, and planes grab water from the ocean to drop on the fire every 30 seconds since last Wednesday. However, the concept of Jews hoarding resources during a time of national crisis is the same rhetoric that has been used historically time and again, and I am disgusted. I don't pretend to know the intentions of those gossiping about the Resnicks, nor do I assume that they are aware of the historical references. But, it is awful, and it makes me so sad that our culture succumbs to these conspiracies during times of national loss.
  2. What I propose is a way to memorialize the actor, while maintaining the character. Because the losses are going to keep on coming; inevitably. The average age of the actors on DAYS keeps creeping upward. So, who gets a special episode, and who doesn't, are the real challenges that lay ahead. And, perhaps there are creative ways of dealing with these deaths that doesn't involve protracted stories that linger on for a year? I know that my lack of commemorative values are unpopular, yet valid. I don't attach merit to tombstones, benches, and memorial parks, unlike many. But, it does become exhausting over time.
  3. I was thinking, with the recent actor passing on GH, that the audience may get “grief fatigue”. As much as it is instinctive to want to honor the death of a cherished actor, we went from Victor, to Doug, and next John's funeral. Which is why I like the idea of John being permanently away on assignment. There must be a way to memorialize the actor, while maintaining some romance and levity within the story universe. This much loss can be overwhelming. And, I am concerned about how it will affect the tone of the show.
  4. Marie is an example of my least liked form of soap character, an older seemingly innocent character, who has a puritanical reputation, but is actually more sexually experienced than her rivals. We've seen many of these over the years. And while it may be ageist, I can tolerate a virginal ingénue more than a prude in her forties. I mean, at least Liz married most of her lovers. 🫣
  5. You'll have to forgive a bit of hyperbole, it's been a looooong week
  6. Did Cat say that Aaron had enough credits to graduate early, or was she referencing Mark? Because (a) what med school would allow Mark to earn a degree if he committed fraud while on residency? and (b) are they keeping Aaron away for storyline purposes? I am glad that Doc is hiring an assistant. Between Leo and Alex, her clients tend to just barge in when they need to see her rather than making an appointment. Julie is great with both Chad AND Doug III. I appreciate that she is a much more modern figure than Alice ever was. And much of her wisdom is based upon her own mistakes. However, I think it is a missed opportunity for her not to mention how she coped with the loss of Scott and David. Because she is truly alone in the world, especially given how she was raised with such an extensive family.
  7. @AbcNbc247 I am eager to see today's episode to understand why the Greene kids are back in Salem so soon. Are we never going to see the Mother again? And, (my eternal question), does this mean that Katherina was living in Salem for a while and never got in touch with John or his family to thank them? I mean Doug III's mobster found him in a week, why didn't John and Katherina ever run into each other at the market?
  8. I actually think the bigger plothole is how did Doug III's gambling debtors find him in Salem? He's changed his name. He was in another city while in jail. And Salem is a small town. Did they just happen to run into him? I guess there are people who fence stolen jewels in Salem? So there is an unsavory crowd by the docks, but still...
  9. If memory serves, the whole thing happened due to a donation to the Carousel of Hope Ball which benefits juvenile diabetes, and it was filmed on location at the ball in Colorado. Fun fact, it was Barbara Davis (widow of Marvin Davis), the inspo for the Colbys, and grandmother to Brandon (greasybear) Davis and Jason (RIP, gummybear) Davis, who chaired the event for years.
  10. I saw this on the news, but I never would've recognized him if it had not been pointed out.
  11. Agreed, which is why it makes sense for Johnny to quit. Although, who is running the bakery now that Felicity is off to Canada? I thought Chanel would go straight to EJ after learning he tried to pay off Joy. I look forward to that confrontation.
  12. How did Chanel refer to Paulina? Big Momma? And when did she start speaking like that? Allie is dating a man? This writer has a weird fixation on fluidity, but only when it comes to women. Also, I totally agree with @Antoyne, Chanel and Johnny aren't breaking up because he kissed Joy. They are splitting because there is no trust left in that relationship. They've been lying to each other ever since Chanel became radioactive. They aren't partners, and they jumped into marriage too quickly after being on the rebound.
  13. I thought today was cute 6/10 I am intrigue by EJ and Rafe working together. It is nice to see Rafe compromising his morals a little, now that he's not a cop. Speaking of which, where's JJ, and why hasn't he showed up for his first day of work? Also, Shawn's excuse to see Belle was lame, given his position on the force. But, I like the Marlena/Belle energy. Marlena treats Belle like more of an adult than she ever did with Sami. Perhaps that's because Belle is thought of as less of a screw-up. Although arguably, Sami is more accomplished. We also need more than vibes for Jada to suspect something is wrong with Rafe. She needs to do a little detective work. I want to see her process when solving a crime. I wish that they would write more about her training, and make her ability to see things others can't see due to her cultural upbringing, and her intelligence.
  14. I thought this was amusing given this week's promo featuring Derek Yates aka Kerry. That episode was filmed so long ago that the actor has gone gray, and cut his hair. 😎💇‍♂️
  15. Count me in as a fan of Carson. I think he's a charming and likable presence. However, much like Alex, I'm not certain the accent fits the character's background.
  16. I'm of two minds on this issue. Because while I think anyone would stare at Casey Moss if he was walking around in his drawers, there's something unempowering about gay characters always wanting what they cannot have. Javi's young and cute. He's got options other than the dude who just boffed his cousin.
  17. The uncomfortable truth is that they wear Calvin Klein underwear inside out to obscure the logo. Given the budgetary constraints, the larger question may be, did they buy a multi-pack, or make them share? 🫣
  18. Also, lil'Allie was the first one to suspect that Arnold was masquerading as Rafe last time, so she'd be useful, especially given that the Chief of Police can't id her own fiancé.
  19. I wonder if the hook is going to be the father? Since Amy and Sophia seem fearful of him. Because, I agree it is 2025, Tate is wealthy, and his family already has a lot of scandals (I mean his Mom is in jail). So, there is zero motive for Tate to marry Sophia simply to please her mother, who he just met yesterday.
  20. The Alex/Philip stuff really highlights RSW's weakness as an actor. Say what you will about JPL, he can play “to the manor born” and seems natural in a mansion setting. But, RSW's thick Bostonian accent always takes me out of the scene, as I expect that he'll yell “wicked pissah” in every argument. Also, almost every party in Salem has either the worst music, or none at all, so they never seem fun. In fact, given that something awful happens almost every New Years in Salem, you'd think they wouldn't look forward to it as much. It's like if you're invited to one of Sami's wedding, you need to be sure to keep the gift receipt in case you need to return it.
  21. Thank you for your service. 🙏 😉 That was a much more complete answer than I ever expected.
  22. Did Ava ever resolve the ownership of the Bistro with Stefan being gone? Remember right after he left, she was worried about who would sign the paychecks? Has she resigned to only using Sophia, and providing her with high school credit in lieu of payment?😉
  23. I randomly follow Michael Dietz on Instagram and he's gone completely white haired, like Christian LeBlanc
