I agree that there's a lot of pressure on the person in that 'slot' so to speak.

Today was SO nice without Meghan. Of course she had to be in the pre-taped Giuliana interview but she took a backseat. Just so nice not having her screeching. She's terrible at interviews, too. She needs to be better trained to not be so stand-offish, bitchy and confrontational. She's very hard to get a read on sometimes. There's glimmers of times I don't hate her but then she gets on her soapbox and plays the victim and screeches ...

YES! She does. You can always tell from her facial expression walking out if she's ready to fight. It's just about every day. I'm glad she'll be off for a few days too. She's exhausting.

I miss her too. She does seemed missed by viewers on twitter who hate that shrew Meghan.

Exactly. Bev is a closet freak. That's the whole point, the whole joke. A prude stuck up woman is a nasty freak. People take sitcoms too seriously sometimes, lol Estelle Parsons looked fantastic. She's in next week's episode too (with a boyfriend) and it looks like we'll finally see Crystal and Nancy. Has the show forgotten about DJ? At least his daughter was on. I think Johnny was a tad rusty as David, at times, and I hated he looked like a slob, but he was overall pretty much in character, but I can't help but also see his Big Bang character. I bought it overall. I liked it enough I guess. I'm guessing David will be in town we just don't see him unless Johnny can film. I think he was only in this episode. I just feel like there's not enough time to really deal with anything and there's a lot of characters to service. I liked the episode. I can't say I overly loved it. I don't know why though. I thought Jackie and Bev was on point. So is Becky's journey over? She's a drunk like Jackie was I suppose ...

Meghan just ruins every interview. She's so confrontational, aggressive, nasty, petty, bitchy ... lawd. I'm so tired of her. I had to turn off last Thursday because of her screeching and I completely forgot to watch on Friday. She comes across as wanting to 'call people out'. I get she has an agenda to push but she's terrible. How can they be happy with her? I know her last name is likely what saves her behind but lawd .... muzzle her please.

Estelle will appear as Bev in the upcoming episode also featuring Galecki as David. I just hate Galecki channeled himself and he looks like a homeless person in desperate need of a bath.

Roseanne is a bit stiff. I also think some of it is her being in pain from her knee.

I agree that the fans likely helped with the Season 3 renewal. One of the problems emerging, IMO, with Netflix, is that they're doing a LOT of original content and some shows are getting lost in the shuffle, so to speak. It's like network television, where good shows sometimes don't always find the audience and get sort of 'missed'. The pool of shows is getting muddied. But also with ODAAT, I can't find where I read this, but it wasn't actually that much of a delay with renewing it from when they renewed it for Season 2, I believe. But the writers and producers and cast were kinda clear on Twitter that it could be in danger. It's a quality show.

ODAAT is hilarious and full of heart. I love the topics they tackle.

I went to a Friday taping last year and it was a lot of fun, but it was Friday so it was more fluffy than usual. I'm anxious to do it again when Whoopi is there and they're not talking about fluff topics. Have fun!! And can Meghan grow up please? Lawd. All she does is act offended and throw a tantrum when people disagree. I do sometimes think they take her talking about things as her opinion when she's just explaining things, but man she's so wound up. You can always tell when she's pressed or not when they walk out. Some days I can tolerate and almost like her but then she falls back into the martyr/victim routine and shouts and pouts. I loved Madam Secretary Albright shutting her down when Meghan tried to have her 'aha, gotcha' with the 'women not supporting women' thing. Meghan, have a [!@#$%^&*] seat. I saw 'The View' was trending today so I went and read some of the tweets and most of them are coming for Meghan (and a lot has nothing to do with her political stance/opinion). It's a pretty fun read.

Tonight's episode was far better than last weeks. I laughed a lot. I kind of LOL that they give adult DJ a line or two like they use to give kid DJ. I liked it was Becky centric. Lecy was good. I liked the Becky/Darlene scenes. Becky was always a character who wanted more for herself so I liked how Darlene basically pointed out that Becky has been trying to be the same person since Mark died. Or something to that effect. It made sense. I liked a lot of it. I always thought it was obvious how different they viewed the Becky's when Lecy came back in Season 8 they had Becky questioning her marriage and wanting to go back to school, to college, that is. Lecy was on GMA this week and talked about Darlene and Becky's relationship and how they start to realize they need each other as friends and sisters. She explained it well and I hope we get lots more of what we saw tonight. It's awkward but you know they love each other. Deep down. Waaaay far deep down. I'm definitely interested in seeing their relationship develop as 40-something adults at a crossroads in their lives. They keep talking about how Jackie is alone. A lot of it was funny but I wish Andy were talked about. It's weird that they're treating it as if he's erased from the history (and maybe he is?). It just feels weird to me. It was a good episode, at least compared to last week. I think the first two episodes remain the most solid so far. Last week's wasn't the best but I get what they were trying to do, and it would have made more sense as Episode 2, but I also get why they held it off and used Episode 3 as Episode 2. Armani the dog Lots of good one liners. Roseanne and Becky had a nice moment at the end. I liked Dan demanding Roseanne stay out of it (and she did!). For whatever reason I can't say it was "great" (though it was often quite funny) but I enjoyed it.

Apparently a writer on Bob's Burgers took issue with the joke Roseanne and Dan made, that I actually totally missed, about falling asleep between 'Wheel and Kimmel' and made mention of missing the shows featuring Black and Asian families. Roseanne said "they're just like us. There you're caught up". I mean, I can understand his annoyance but I think he's reading too much into and trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Everyone finds issue with SOMETHING these days. I mean, if you try hard enough, you can pick apart anything and everything. I don't know. It just seems so easy to get outraged at things anymore. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/roseanne-criticized-black-ish-fresh-boat-joke-1100311?utm_source=twitter Ames and Emma fit right in. Great casting.

Yeah, in the context, it worked better than Roseanne calling Harris a bitch.

True. That's why it wasn't such a shock to me. However, in the context of their relationship (or lack thereof) and for the scene it kind of felt like it was done for a bit of shock value (like it was a catfight done for the sake of being a catfight). But Roseanne, the character (and I guess IRL), has often handled things in a crass and distasteful manner in a way to get the point across (which is more real to me, we don't always say the right things in the moment but it gets the point across), so I wasn't that put off. But I was sort of put off how it was used this time. Oh well.

Ah! Makes sense. I was wondering about that, because I noticed Roseanne's chair lift was in the 2nd episode but the plotline for it came in last night's episode. I can see why the switched the 2nd and 3rd episodes though. I agree it was distasteful. It didn't seem like it was needed, really, because the water spray scene did enough.

I agree. It wasn't the strongest episode. The tension should have been building between Harris and Roseanne, not rising and building and peaking in the same episode (Harris has had one or two one-liners in the first two episodes). Some of it was good. Jackie and Becky had a few lines each so kind of a waste of them there. No DJ (I think Michael Fishman said Episode 5 is when we learn more about DJ, but that episode is currently titled "Darlene v David" so I don't know how much airtime he'll get and maybe he mispoke about which episode it will be). It was OK. Not the best so far. I just think they tried to do too much in one episode, but I get they only had 9 episodes. I can kind of agree on the mean-spiritedness, but Harris was indeed being a bitch and showed a shocking lack of respect. She needed a smack so the water thing worked great for me. Roseanne's always crass though. But the tension was out of nowhere and simply for the plot of the episode, which is fine I suppose. It is a sitcom after all. There was no way the show was getting nearly 20 million viewers again this week. But it still did well. Let's see how much it keeps dropping. It was bound to drop, that's just a reality. Will & Grace premiered nicely (though not nearly as great) and it's now just barely a step above the other niche sitcoms NBC seems determined to stick with. Though the two are very different, just saying that the audience will drop, it shouldn't be a surprise. And I think with Will and Grace they're already falling back into the habits of the older seasons, relying on "LOOK IT'S ALEC BALDWIN!" "LOOK IT'S JENNIFER LOPEZ!!!" I mean, the cartoon is back (Malcolm hiding himself in front of the drapes wearing pajamas that look like the drapes? I mean, COME ON, lol) and I'm disappointed.

I noticed they never referred to either Trump or Clinton by name. I understand why people had the initial fears they did, I shared some of them, but watching the show put me at ease. It's a shame to see what both sides of the aisle are trying to paint this as. Roseanne's tweets sure don't help her cause though. But they signed her up. So they know what they were getting into. Many can look past it and still enjoy the show but I understand why some aren't able to. I don't subscribe to the idea that famous people should keep their yaps shut but I do sort of miss the days of not knowing which way someone leaned.

I assumed it's Roseanne because of the knee thing. But it could be DJ too. Becky's a bit full with the baby story but I guess they could. Or they say Mark Sr. died from an overdose.

I don't know. I never say never anymore, I would have a couple of years ago. Jerry and Larry are very coy people. But I agree it's not very likely. But I don't think anything would surprise me at this point. Who'd have thought Murphy Brown would be rebooted?

Personally it would have to be a hard no towards a FRIENDS revival for me. The show got on my nerves. But I also enjoyed some of it. But I don't see a need for a revival. I would of said the same about Murphy too yet here we are. So who knows?
