  1. +1 Trailer looks good. Excited that it's coming back.
  2. I LOVE Mama's Family. Always have. LOL. I loved when it came on in the afternoons on TBS. It kind of disappeared after that until Logo. I think Ion aired it around 2006-2008 along with some other 80s shows. Shame they dropped that for endless reruns of crime shows. Glad to hear it about DVD on bluray. I'll definitely get the bluray then. Shame about the Lucy bluray. I love DVD (and Lucy too) in color. I definitely prefer them in B&W but I also really like them colorized. I love how CBS has made it an annual thing to colorize episodes of Lucy and now DVD. They did Andy Griffith but that was just one time. This was the second time CBS did the colorized DVD. I've lost track of how many times they've done Lucy. The specials do well in the ratings (but the demo is loooow LOL, though I don't think CBS cares), though I think this year they weren't as high, but I could be wrong.
  3. I agree with them that it had run it's course. I think Valerie could have carried the weight of the spin-off but it would have been better with Mackenzie around. What about the Lucy blu-ray disappointed you? I'm glad I'm not missing much then by just getting the regular DVDs. I feel you aren't the first person I've heard disappointed in the Lucy blu-ray. Isn't Dick Van Dyke on blu-ray? Do you watch that or did you buy it? (Just wondering if DVD is better than Lucy on blu-ray) And yeah, the stores have a decent selection of various tv shows for fairly cheap around this time of year. If I think it's cheap enough in the store I'll pick it up but I usually try to look online first. One of my nearby Walmart's even had Mama's Family the complete series (another Walmart didn't) but I had already just bought it. Forgot I had bought it lol. I bought it online.
  4. There are still little chunks I haven't seen of ODAT but I think I was able to see most of the episodes, LOGO was really the first time I saw the entire run of the show. I didn't have Antenna when they were airing ODAAT. And before Logo and Antenna, the show hadn't aired in syndication for a LOOONG time. I'll probably buy the complete series. I had a lot of shows on DVD that I ended up selling over the years lol so I'm now starting to rebuild my collection. Just bought Roseanne, I Love Lucy and Married with Children. It pays to wait years and years to buy them because a lot of box sets are so much cheaper now lol. I spent less than $30 each for MWC and Roseanne. ILL was like $40. Makes sense about the spin-off idea. Wasn't terrible but it just felt so different from the flavor of the original show. Wonder how Bonnie Franklin felt about the spin-off and being used less, or was it her choice to be used less and move on from the show? I mean the woman basically carried the entire show for most of it's run. Not to discount Mackenzie or Valerie but Bonnie carried that damn show. Shame Mac was addicted to drugs at the time of the show, as much as Julie grated on my nerves, Phillips was just so good and the show never felt right without Julie.
  5. I liked Julie and Max. I agree with you on Seasons 6 and 7. I'm torn on Season 8. It just felt like a totally different show, not that it was a bad thing I guess. Shame LOGO doesn't seem to be airing it anymore. But they seem to cycle through shows, I think Bewitched and Green Acres are back on the schedule next week. I didn't say I *thought* Alex was cute (he does nothing for me, but I don't find him ugly either, but then he didn't have a six pack and blonde hair ) just that I hated the whole concept of the "cute kid" being added to the show. He falls under that even if he's not "cute" lol And yeppers, it always fails miserably and the kid disappears without a mention (except Married with Children and Seven, they poked fun at themselves there) I also don't love it when shows add a new baby. I don't ever really see the point (Growing Pains, Too Close for Comfort, Family Ties ...). The babies don't bother me as much as the seven-ten year old "look how awesome a kid I am" additions though.
  6. LMAO! Alex didn't bother me, he grew on me. But I always hated when shows added some cute kid and went through hoops to make him happen. I HATED Ron Rifkin's character and him with Ann, I was SO happy they offed him LOL. I didn't really like Ann with anyone (though Howard Hessman's character kind of grew on me and I thought he was a good match for Ann, even though Hessman seemed checked out, bored or grumpy half the time) I thought the show often did a poor job pairing the women with their men. I really ended up liking Max with Julie (when we saw her ....) but I was never sold on Barbara and her eventual husband. But he grew on me in the last season where they played The Brady Brides with each other. I just felt it was more about the guys later in the seasons than it was about the girls. I preferred the feel of the early years.

    I wish she would
  8. Very pleasantly surprised we'll see Crystal/Natalie West. Also have to give them kudos for Anne Marie and Chuck. Just read on HollywoodReporter that Christopher Lloyd (Taxi, Back to The Future) will be in one episode as Bev's boyfriend Lou! I can't wait for that. LOVE him. I also like that DJ's daughter is named Mary (after Nana Mary). I wonder why we haven't heard anything about Andy and Jerry? And even though Harris is 14, she should be like 20 lol.
  9. Premieres Tuesday March 27th at 8:00PM with back-to-back episodes. It will stay at 8:00PM with The Middle @ 8:30PM. Fresh Off The Boat will have wrapped by then. Adilah Barnes, who played Anne-Marie was listed as coming back as well in this release by TVByTheNumbers: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/more-tv-news/roseanne-returns-to-abc-in-late-march/
  10. GETTV is adding All in the Family, Good Times and Sanford & Son in January. They'll be off Antenna TV come January so it seemed likely they would move somewhere else. I figured METV but METV just released their January lineup and not much is changing. Diff'rent Strokes has been added. I Love Lucy is off. METV: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=367032 GETTV: https://www.get.tv/schedule/pdf/et/month/2018-01
  11. Yeah, Marcel is playing Valerie. It was a scene-by-scene recreation of the original show's Season 2 opening. Check out this interview from CBS This Morning with Rita Moreno. I think it's from January of this year. I stumbled on it while watching some clips on YouTube. Rita is hilarious and wonderful like I expected but go to the end of the video and watch Charlie Rose get a Marilyn Monroe-esque number from Rita as Lydia, and then hear Gayle and Norah joke about where Charlie puts his hands, or something along those lines. It's really creepy knowing what we know now. But seeing all these old things from Matt Lauer and now Rose, and others, it was there the whole time, staring at us right in the face.
  12. +1 I'm glad it's coming back next month. I was beginning to wonder when we'd get a date, it was starting to feel like forever, especially with them having finished taping Season 2 over the summer.
  13. That recreation was well done and cute. I liked it.
  14. Glad we'll see them both again! 9 episodes feels so limiting but maybe it will be a tight 9 episodes so maybe it's for the best. I think 12/13 would have been good. Any is better than none though!
  15. LOVE Hazel
  16. I'd love to thank whoever decided Logo needs to air classic sitcoms. Looks like 'The Ropers' will be airing tomorrow night (either Midnight or 12:30am) after Three's Company! I know Antenna airs it but this is neat. Kudos to whoever is doing the Logo schedule.
  17. I liked the original premise and Monroe definitely sort of 'takes over' like Urkel did. I liked him enough at times. I didn't mind when they retooled the show but I think I sort of felt a lot of lost potential for the original premise. The actresses playing Jackie and Sara were quite good but I don't think they were ever given enough, especially when Monroe began dominating. I know 227 is on the January schedule for Antenna TV (it will air weekdays at 3:00PM after Head of the Class and leads into What's Happening!! at 3:30). I forgot it had been on there. I mentioned it coming to OWN because it's nice to see a cable network pick it up again. It will also be nice to see Gimme a Break! I would have paired GaB with 227 but oh well, I think they tried the best they could to mix the 70s and 80s/90s shows but I think Antenna's lineup needs some help ... lol but it's nice to get some significant changes.
  18. Late to the discussion but I feel mixed on Nicollette Sheridan. I've always liked her and she really stole every scene she had in Desperate Housewives (hated how they treated her) so I may have to tune in again to see her. I only watched the first three episodes and sort of let the other ones sit on the DVR. I don't dislike the show, it needs work, it's not great but I'm not ready to totally write it off I guess. They aren't doing everything I'd like (wasting the Revenge hunk on just one episode - as far as I know he's still dead, right? - and not sure how much they've used the talented Brianna Brown since as I haven't watched the last several episodes) but I don't really hate the idea of different takes on the original characters. I think the problem is that it's a CW show so the writing will always be shallow, but the glossy feel works, and some of the cast works, not all of it though (the Cristal actress hasn't done anything to wow me or make me care about her character). I feel Monica and Jeff were cast as afterthoughts. Monica could be a nobody extra (at least through the first three episodes, remember I haven't seen anymore episodes yet). I didn't think Jeff and Fallon had any chemistry but she does with Michael. I don't really like the actor playing "Sam" and I didn't on Empire either. I think for the character they want Sam to be he fits just fine but I'm just not crazy about him. Anyway, rambling ... but Sheridan wasn't even on my radar so that was an interesting choice. Not exactly who I'd have thought to cast, but I think I could enjoy it. I'm happy for her as I think she deserves to be starring in a lead role (especially after how she was treated on Housewives), and I think she excels at the type of character Alexis will be so I have no doubts she'll bring some buzz to the show and hopefully steal every scene she's in and get some well deserved attention for it. But this isn't Joan Collins coming to original flavor Dynasty or Heather Locklear coming to Melrose Place. But Sheridan's casting sure won't hurt IMO.
  19. I figured I'd start a new thread for this. I noticed 227 is coming to OWN today. Instead of an individual show thread, or the Logo/Antenna TV/Me-TV catch-all I figured this could be the go to. Not expecting a ton of discussion but oh well, here it is. Anyway, nice to see 227. I'm guessing because Jackee is starring in the House of Payne spin-off ... it's on on-demand for me but it's always nice to see it rerun. I know Centric (now BET Her) or TV One aired it for a while I think. Also Too Close For Comfort has started airing on Logo. I'd seen a lot of it when Antenna TV aired it a couple of years ago, but still nice to see as it felt long forgotten until Antenna picked it up. It's the perfect companion to Three's Company. It doesn't seem to have a regular timeslot but it airs late-nights right now, and Logo runs marathons of classic shows. I swear I have Logo on almost all the time now lol.
  20. Thanks for posting those social media pics. I share your sentiment on Michael Fishman. LOL. Really surprised but happy about Chuck. Hopefully we see Anne-Marie and Natalie West/Crystal. I got a bit tired of her but I'd also hope to see Sandra Bernhard, also Fred Willard and Martin Mull. But they have a little more than a handful of episodes so I imagine they can't bring EVERYONE back, but it'd be nice to get some cameos.
  21. She also just tweeted that Johnny Galecki is back for at least an episode
  22. Roseanne just tweeted that Estelle Parsons will be back. Yay!
