  1. Pulling this up as I'm reading the thread. YEP! I'm looking at you DAYS. Anywho ... the budget seems to get worse with the soap and I thought some later episodes looked very cheap and poorly done. Nice to see earlier years looked better.
  2. That's interesting about Jon. Again I missed some because of the talking over each other at times and sometimes garbled sound/wifi on their ends. Kelley seemed lost at first, not uninterested, lol. IMO. She seemed to have problems getting on or something.
  3. No he doesn't. His memory seemed great as well. It's so nice to see him doing well. Maura was a trip and loved seeing Scott join her at the end. He looks the damn same too. Can we swap out Roger Howarth for him? Michael Park?
  4. Mmmhmm. I noticed. Considering they were hiring actresses for Executive Producer, Martha could have been ATWT's Ellen Wheeler. LOL. She and Don talked a lot about Marland. I'd love a GL one.
  5. Good. I expected it, but always nice to hear some "confirmation" of sorts.
  6. It was so great hearing stories from them. You can tell how close they still are even if they may not talk all the time. My heart needed that today. I missed the Marie Masters mention. Some of it was garbled and I was slightly distracted at times. I need to rewatch it.
  7. It's so wonderful to see them Don Hastings!!! (He still sees Larry Bryggman and gave an update on Kathy Hays) Maura West drinking corona beer in her hot tub! She is such a fun time I just adore her. "I have shitty wifi" ... dead. At the end Scott DeFreitas joined her he looks the damn same. DAMN SAME. How does the ATWT cast not age? At all? Martha is obviously still close to Liz Hubbard (who she says is doing well!) and says they're even closer now than when they were on the show. She's talking about her first day and how she was almost fired. No one reacted to Michael Park mentioning Goutman directing him on his first day. Heh. Park's adoration of Maura West Kelley Menighan was fashionably late. Aww she recently talked to Ellen Dolan (I believe). Aww her crying at the end saying she just loved seeing their faces. We deserve ATWT and GL back.
  8. Reilly always fascinated me for various reasons. LOL. Good to hear! And ew at JFP. Wonder what happened with him in his later years before he passed. Did he just say "[!@#$%^&*] the interference I'm going to write batshit crazy stuff"? LOL As much as he dragged stories out, dumbed folks down, used plot devices ... he could at least structure a story, IMHO. Good? That's subjective, lol.
  9. Yep. It's so sad watching it collapse. Smart, sexy, witty ... I still wonder how Reilly wrote for the damn show (you can see some of his touches in 1991, but the show had great writers to cover some of it up and write it better, IMO). Did he have dolls of the characters and act out scenes? How did he manage to work with folks like Curlee and Demorest? He was such a recluse.
  10. Thought of the Emily/Holden discussion and how they really never interacted in the later years. I randomly pulled up a January 1994 episode and voila, there both are together in the scene as the episode starts. I LOL'd.
  11. That's true on Dolan. She did seem softer in her first run in some of the episodes I've watched. She and Holmes had a nice rapport. Not sure what the hell happened (well, bad writing first of all, but still ... it's also acting choices) That's fair on Deas. I can see that.
  12. Yeah. Dolan was my first Margo. I liked her more as Maureen, personally once I finally got to see her in the role. But then I also really liked Parker, but I've gone back and forth because I really did like what I saw of Dolan as Maureen. But then seeing HBS and Colin as Margo? No contest. Sorry Ellen Dolan. LOL. She was just harder, which I suppose makes sense for Margo at that point in her life but ... Scott Holmes and Ellen Dolan never seemed to have any chemistry and they kinda ruined Tom and Margo. Moreso Tom. He became like a lot of men on the soaps, grabbing arms and being shouty at the women in his life. It's like Josh on GL. Very different earlier on than later when he constantly yelled at Reva. I never understood some of these men's appeals until I watched older material. I also forget about Santa Barbara at times and of course Deas was on there. I see a little bit of his later GL OTT but SB was campy ... I was watching the CC "death" episode from 1987. So maybe it started there? lol
  13. Yeah I was more implying he benefited from solid leading ladies to help reel him in. My mistake on them and their marriage! lol. They had great chemistry together on-screen and clearly off. Their Tom and Margo is very appealing to me, as was HBS's Margo. I like Gregg Marx and can see why he was cast at the time, but I think of David from DAYS. ATWT was very lucky to have a great Tom & Margo twice. Deas/Colin and Smith/Marx. Ellen Dolan and Scott Holmes were fine initially. Dolan worked for me far more than Holmes at times, but eh. I'd take them back on my screen in a heartbeat at this point. Their characters really ended up suffering though from such bad writing.
  14. Agreed. I liked him on there. I liked him on ATWT what I've seen of him there. Early GL he was fine and then ... lol
  15. Pretty good assessment. Deas also seemed to have the benefit of working opposite his wife Margaret Colin (who was delightful as Margo and so quirky) and then Fiona Hutchison, just two examples. His OTT seemed to start with the Zimmer pairing, even though they had ridiculous and weird sexual chemistry. I think along the way he also kinda gave up. Like Michael E Knight did, amongst others. Not an excuse for his shouting and scenery chewing but just an observation. I always felt if the show had continued or been revived (lol ... I know) Buzz would have been better to kill off than Alan. But I also wish they never introduced him so ... It seems like a lot of actors like Justin Deas, Kim Zimmer, Robin Strasser, Susan Seaforth Hayes all seemed to turn on the Over The Top acting in the hopes of keeping up with what was wanted at the time. Just another observation. We've had both Hayes and Strasser address this.
  16. Seems like a very smart idea
  17. Really not sure what happened to Deas. His very early days on GL weren't atrocious either. It's bizarre.
  18. Yes it was A Daytime to Remember in 1997 before Port Charles debuted. They did half hour edits I believe. http://ackleyva.tripod.com/daytime.html That fan link explains it but only lists what GH was airing. I'm sure there's probably a better resource. I'd be all for soaps airing M-W and airing classic episodes on Thurs/Fri.
  19. THIS Well said. You need characters like that. Something soaps fail/refuse to understand now.
  20. Maybe they will 🤷‍♂️ 🤞 Lord Doug Davidson's stans are so thirsty. Everything has to be about him. Based on the second link it seems like Tracey thinks they will be going to M-W with classics on Thurs/Fri. That really makes the most sense. Maybe they ease into it. And honestly ... if this is what it takes to keep the soaps around in the future ... do it this way.
  21. Makes sense then to do it this way. Probably why they picked Friday then. But yeah, Thursday/Friday would probably be better to save on the amount of episodes. Maybe they gradually reduce? Or maybe they're hoping to resume taping sometime in mid-late May? (Of course hoping and it being a reality are two different things)
  22. No lies here. Gimme reruns all day every day of Y&R at this point. What they need to do is fire Griffith, get a replacement working on fixing the show and do a six month time jump. But don't waste our time like Ron did. However, I don't believe they care about 'fixing' the show as they don't see it as broken. I question how far back these 'classics' will go. But I'll take anything truly classic. Heck I'd take anything from 1999-2005/2006 at this point too, was truly great compared to the last ten years (LOL, only half kidding ... but when compared to what's come after? It looks so much better). I have no doubt they remind us of Cassie's death and Phyllis and Nick having an affair. Let's also remind viewers of Diane and Nikki catfighting over The Old Goat's sperm. Yikes. I also question if they dare show some of the better stuff, like how Heather Tom can actually act circles around lethargic Heinle. Or how David Tom still remains the better Billy, despite the mess of his return. Etc. And of course Drucilla Winters and Victoria Rowell. I bet that idiot racist from Sony is glad the demand for her return quickly died. Anywho ... I ramble ...
  23. I have so much to say but for this second: 👏 And I'll sum it up simply: where there is a will ... there is almost always a way ...
  24. That would be awesome. I wonder if Martha would/could do that? Someone should ask her, lol (they probably already did) P&G doesn't care. They should. Why are they sitting on money to be made? OBVIOUSLY the cost to convert and other issues cause problems but ... ugh. I hate P&G/Telenext whoever the hell they are now.
  25. I do remember that now. But yeah feels like it could be it, simply due to her age. She does? I don't watch regularly ATM but it seemed like she was quite featured last year? Is she on some break or appearing less now? (Who could blame her? I keep waiting to hear she's leaving, personally) Why do viewers put up with the obvious shock plots that are literally killing the next generation? As a bunch of nobodies runs around town? I still don't understand making all the offspring so evil or psycho or awful. It seems lazy most of the time and has become vastly overdone. I guess "nice" is boring, eh?
