  1. lol so true. I love DAYS, but it would likely be the one cancelled out of the four left. ABC owns GH. CBS has The Talk floundering. I do see it moving online. It does well in streaming. I don't think that gets talked about enough. But networks also still cling to network ratings and advertisers SO I don't know if it really matters it does well on streaming. Corday would likely try to keep it so I hesitate to say it will be cancelled. LOL. DAYS was pronounced dead in 2006/2007 and here we are. What would NBC replace it with? Today #600? Good Morning America does better.
  2. Very nice. Looking forward to this one. They were well cast as mother and daughter. (Of course I would have preferred Blanchard playing Nola's daughter but Nola had one foot out the door so I get it). Drew could get on my nerves though but Blanchard was always talented. Shut the front door! Both Blakes! (I ignore the orginal "Blake") LMAO. Will be incredibly nice to see Sherry Stringfield and Kimberley Simms. I very much look forward to this one. Can't wait to hear them reminisce about Michael Zaslow. Siiiiiigh. Loved him.
  3. You're right, they did update the decor in the townhouse. Agreed on Shawn and Belle's house. It's bad. LOL.
  4. Maybe I'm just channeling Uncle Ron too much right now LOL but I fear that too, and it would help keep 'loony Nina' around and it could all be chalked up to her grief. Sonny's wonder sperm LMAO. Lord. He has WAAAAAAY too many kids. They really needed to have Avery be Morgan's, but I suppose they could always broach that when they so choose, when Avery's aged to a teenager and Morgan suddenly is alive. LOL It's been really needed. I just hope they go in the right directions. The potential is there. I'm also guessing it's a bitter angsty teenaged Spencer sending Ava cockroaches LOL
  5. I feel like Zoey could have stuck around had we been able to keep Thiebaud. I'm glad she's back on GH though and Britt is being fleshed out. Oh EJ. Sigh. What a mess. At least he's off the canvas with a recast Kristen on, who's now 9 years younger.
  6. lol I agree she's likely just a prop. I hate putting that idea out there but it's always been in the back of my mind, especially now. I also think she's filling in for where Hope should have been at times with him. Is what it is I guess. Orpheus just seems to pop up and create some chaos when Ron feels bored or something. I enjoy seeing him but I wish they'd so something more substantial. It seemed that way with Zoey and Evan but they were just plot points, though Evan's really fun when he is full on psychotic. And actually, Marlena got Evan out early from treatment because she wanted to save Henry from Orpheus. And Evan terrorized Ciara and kidnapped Claire. I'm guessing and hoping those beats get played, hence the amped up airtime she's sharing with Ben. It's likely her guilt. And Marlena's always gone over and above for patients I guess. lol same. I don't mind SORASing either when it's done believably. Belle and Philip were stretches as was Brady but they kind of needed to, so I get it. At least Will, Abby and Shawn are where they should be, age wise.
  7. Didn't you love Philip going from 4 to angsty teen? LOL. Philip and Will should be the same age. Brady should be like 10 years younger and Abby's contemporary. I think way back when they also aged up David and Mike too soon which seemed to age them off the canvas. Oh and who can forget hunky Victor Webster as Nicholas Alamain who was suddenly banging Kate and a contemporary of Sami, etc. When he should have been Philip's age and in that spot. LOL. I get why choices are made at the time but it just makes you laugh.
  8. I think it's scheduling and guarantees. The show is a mess when it comes to 'flow'. I'm just wondering why Marlena is suddenly playing Ben's mother. Evan was rumored to be the 1986 Jarlena kid but that wasn't the case. I can see it where Orpheus gave Baby Boy Black to Clyde or somehow he ended up with him. Clyde and Orpheus are always so involved everytime the other returns. I'm probably reaching but it's been a fear in the back of my mind. My main problem with Ben remains they didn't erase his killings. That and RSW just isn't that strong of an actor. But we've certainly had worse. Exactly, Robin was someone we watched grow up and cared about. Ciara hasn't had nearly that kind of development as a character. Who is she?? Ciara has suffered as a prop for Ben, who gets long angsty material with Marlena. Konefal must see that, I'm sure it's why she wanted to bolt. I think Konefal was great casting as Ciara so it's been disappointing she's so wasted.
  9. The amnesia would be a good trope for any couple if it weren't so overdone and for a couple that's become meh. Victoria Konefal is 'recurring' so it's going to be never-ending until they finally decide to write Cin out. Ciara's the new Robin. Sigh. lol very true I'd really like to see Ryan given a shot.
  10. Sami is in jail and Marlena's still playing mother to Ben? I feel like they crossed out Hope's name and put in Marlena's at times. I could support their relationship if it wasn't dominant compared to the time spent with her actual family. Does Ron plan to retcon Ben into her son or something? Does he feel like using her to prop him gives him the 'seal of approval'? It doesn't. LOL And apparently Shawn and Belle got cut for the Shakespeare [!@#$%^&*]. This show is so (deliberately) tone deaf. No wonder my watching is sparse. Ron needs a strong co-hw. Fran the butcher needs to go and Alarr the lazy executive needs to go, though kudos for trying to improve the set situation. I refuse to believe Marlena would live in that hideously decorated townhouse so the actual decor needs an upgrade. It looks like a retirement home villa. Maybe if the show were remotely interesting I wouldn't focus so much on the things that really shouldn't matter LOL
  11. Exactly. This amnesia storyline has proven Sonny isn't at all needed. He's easily forgotten about and the canvas isn't affected one bit. WR just doesn't do villain well. Yikes. I like Lipton. I think he does a good job. Sure he's still a bit green but I see a lot of natural talent. He also looks remarkably like Rebecca Herbst. He was perfect casting as Cameron. I've been expecting Nina to find Sonny and he think she's his "twu wove" that he dreamed about a while back. Nina of course will get revenge and not say anything. I'm ready for the Annie to come out. LOL. Wonder if she'll end up with a 'miracle baby'? Remember she slept with Jax before their relationship imploded. The canvas and majority of couples were stagnant and stale. I appreciate Dan and Chris imploding things. I still worry about Frank's interference. But I see potential. The Franco/Howarth stans are imploding on Twitter for some reason and attacking the show for doom and gloom and lack of romance. Well, yeah, that is true but Friz sucked and they knew it. Franco had to go. Peter has to go. Finn and Anna sucked (they were better as friends). Michael and Willow suck. Jax and Nina could have worked but Ingo sucks and the chemistry quickly died. It was time for an 'overhaul' I saw this Drew/Franco thing coming so I'm not surprised the Howarth/Franco stans are wetting themselves in grief. The dude Alan Sarapa on Twitter hinted at something like this a while back. I immediately connected the two.
  12. Yikes, YEP. No wonder my viewing is becoming limited to the Carvers and Evans-Blacks-Bradys when I get around to finally watching. I have days and days stacked up. But, if it puts the nail in the 'Bristen' coffin, I'll be happy. She can be nuts over him but this love affair needs to be over. And since baby stories are an easy 9 months, you just know Kristen's gonna have some ridiculous pregnancy with Rex's baby and pass it off as Brady's. Lord I hope not.
  13. I agree too I appreciate Nina and Ava have become friends but their scenes are few and far between because of their own storylines. Nina playing mommy to Maxie is supposed to sweet but it just highlights Felicia's absence (she better be held hostage by Peter or something with an alive Alex Devane) - which I'm wondering if it's intentional to not have Felicia around. She would have been in the Anna position. I'm hoping there's a strategy. I know they pulled the sick aunt thing but ... or I'm just wishful thinking. Anywho ... I'm still waiting for Nina to keep Sonny being alive a secret. Nina's a ticking time bomb LOL. But I assume they also want to keep Watros. I mean Nina already stole a baby so ... they can kinda 'go there' and pass it off as her grief and losing her mind.
  14. I forgot about that. Gia and Elizabeth had good taste LOL That's my guess. Drew has potential story on the canvas and can be a fresh slate for Howarth to tackle. Drew can be darker. I don't love it but I can kinda see where they might be going. Unless I'm totally wrong, but with Howarth sticking around ... I think they know it was time to ditch Franco and this was their way to do it and keep Howarth.
  15. I'm guessing Elizabeth falls in love with Franco's doppleganger and Jason's brother Drew. Yuck. I'm vomiting already. I'd love to be wrong. I see zero reason for him to come back as Todd, because that would be a lot of baggage to have to deal with, potentially. Unless there's some secret OLTL reboot in the works, which isn't likely. So ...
  16. I'm assuming Howarth is going to play Drew. Sigh.
  17. I can agree with that about Krystal. I go back and forth on her. I think some of it is I was salty they offed Macy on B&B (again) and Bobbie Eakes moved to AMC and they were pushing Krystal while shoving Dixie and Brooke off the canvas (and I'd much rather have had Bobbie as Macy but soaps are gonna do what they do). Kinda like how ATWT loved to hire ABC cast-offs and have them dominate airtime. Just an irritance. LOL. But I do agree having non-connected characters IS needed. I felt bad for Julia Barr and Jackie Zeman/GH around this time. They were clearly 'aged out' by terrible executives in charge (I also assume they had a very nice contract and salary by that point so they were expensive and 'easy' to axe). I blame Frons for Barr and Zeman, but Phelps had her share with Zeman. So many actresses have been treated like [!@#$%^&*] while their male stars are glorified.
  18. A little behind in the discussion but I've been immersing myself in what I can of classic AMC on youtube and sigh .... so good and fun. I could go on for days and days. I just had to watch the Lars/Palmer yacht fight (I couldn't imagine that with Robert Milli as Lars). You have gotta love it as they fight while an instrumental of "Anything Goes" plays in the background. I miss a well produced soap. Even when the stories were a bit ... yikes ... they sold the hell out of it. Peter Bergman as a recast Jeff Martin would have been better than random Cliff Warner filling that spot, making Jeff irrelevant. Bergman can get on my nerves as Cliff but he's the "perfect" soap actor for the 80s. I can see why audiences loved him even though Miller acts circles around him. And my god, Heather Stanford as Nina? So so so sooooooo bad. Holy hell. I also didn't think I'd like Matt Connolly so much. I'd argue he and Nina had far more chemistry than she did with Cliff/Bergman by that point. Just saying. I died everytime he called Palmer "dad" and Palmer died inside. Nina absolutely could have been a longer running character. I get she was played out by 1989, but they didn't let Cliff and Nina get away from their relationship. Even Miller seemed frustrated. Nina could have been paired with a slew of men. Edmund, Dimitri, Jackson. Jackson was 'working for' Palmer in 1988 while showing an interest in Natalie. It's also a shame Ellen, Mark, Ross, Julie couldn't be weaved in later. (I know Mark popped in of course, but he should have been recurring at the very least, if LaMura was interested; and I know Noone was on Beach and Passions of course but still ...). I guess there comes a point in time where it becomes harder to re-introduce them, but at the same time, is it *really* that much different than demanding the audience care about someone new when a built in character with history could fill that spot? The audience who didn't know them now will. It's just laziness. In the 90s, Kelsey and Bobby felt like missed opportunities. TC Warner was incredibly likable, much like Melissa Hayden on GL. Shame they didn't keep them and develop them. But they were too 'plain' I'm assuming for what the soaps wanted to be by 1997. I get the idea of developing Caleb in 2010 but when you have Ross and Nina ... why not weave them back in? I know the show was dead by then but still ... we wasted so much time on say, Krystal ... I thought once she could have been Ellen's daughter Devon. You know soaps loved to change names. Just like "Ally" should have been Emily Ann Sago in 1997/1998. Missed opportunities galore but I can sometimes see why they went with a new character instead. You do have to have new characters but no one was allowed to thrive in the Kendall/Ryan/Greenlee/Zach/JR/Annie years of hell. Sidenote, crazy watching 1999 and seeing Ryan actually being likeable, even during the stupid Braden/Kit rape [!@#$%^&*] show. Gillian sure helped. Always was a mistake killing her. Also in 1999 it was a shame the Erica/Dimitri/Brooke triangle fizzled out. That was fun.
  19. Right? I agree completely.
  20. The Baldwins seemed to have had a 'resurgence' (YMMV on quality of writing LOL) around 2001-2007 but they haven't done much at all with them since Mike's on-screen death. Adam Barlow is around and he's hot, so that's nice, LOL. He is Mike's son after all so I like his place on the canvas. Thinking back, they were way too quick to off Susan. I didn't really see the point, it seemed just to be a shock death for the sake of it.
  21. 😂 So true. He's always wasted. I don't see it being any different here. Griffith has no idea what to do with anyone. I don't even see the point. But I like Burgi so kudos to him for picking up a paycheck LOL
  22. That's a good point. They can't keep pretending Jack is some young hot catch. No offense to Bergman, who has aged well, of course, but they have to call out the elephant in the room, like you said.
  23. As an actor he was never my cup of tea either. He seems like a cool guy though. It didn't help that two of his roles (og Brady and B&B Rick) on soaps he was playing angry and screaming most of the time LOL. That is true. He does look good these days (YMMV and that's fine ya'll LOL). I wouldn't have recast with him either lol. I also wouldn't have cast Josh Taylor as Roman LOL but here we are 24 years later (yes, he's played Roman that long). Sigh, but I slightly digress.
  24. I figured they haven't played the beats at all. It could totally work but the writing isn't there. Shame but expected.
