  1. That massive voter fraud claim is yet another claim that Trump made that has no merit. That WH investigation is going nowhere. ...but since almost none of the media outlets are talking about Sessions lying under oath, I guess this latest Trump lie has achieved its aim. Ben Carson is rightfully being dragged on Twitter. He may have left his brain in the mid-2000s, I think.
  2. With a few exceptions (e.g. Charles Blow, NYT), I rarely read Opinion and 'analysis' pieces appearing in newspapers. If I want that, I'd go to a blog post or podcast. When I do read the Washington Post (one or two times per week), I stick to the news stories.
  3. Apparently, James Comey has asked Trump to refute the wiretapping claims. Trump has been lying since before he started his campaign for president. The very foundation of his political bid is built on a lie. I don't know what makes people think that he's suddenly going to start telling the truth now.
  4. Make no mistake, the GOP (especially at the state level) is still pushing voter suppression tactics while the public's attention is on Russia. Glad that this pastor and the congregation took a stand and walked out. Patrons Walk Out As Ala. Official Pushes Voter ID At Selma Anniversary Service
  5. Children are the truth, regardless of protocol.
  6. Zealous Trump supporters are heading into Jim Jones category. I don't want to sound vicious but personally, I'm ready for these folks to drink the Kool Aid so the rest of the country can recoup and move on.
  7. I'm crying! I started to watch. It sounded like it was in Italian but the level of play was so poor, I clicked out. Sam is hella tall. If you see him and Isner play matches (which unfortunately I have been unlucky enough to witness), they are similar in height. I think Isner's taller, Sam certainly has better command of his body than Isner). Acapulco was most likely a way for Novak and Rafa to keep the body warm, pick up some cash and possibly grab a title. I don't know if they were actually prepared to have to play their A games. No top player with a chance at IW is really going to go all out days before the start of a Masters Level tournament! Sam most likely knew this was his "shot" at a title and went all out. It will be interesting to see how far he gets at a Masters level tournament with everyone there. It will be even more interesting to see how the Top 15 players perform next week.
  8. *shrugs* He has been playing well all week though.
  9. People knowledgeable of these matters seem to be saying that it would've been the FBI and/or the DOJ who would've opened an investigation on Trump and from what I've been reading today, there would've had to be a large amount of 'evidence' to support bringing forth an investigation. A few people have expressed that this investigation was old news, while others have said that it is big trouble for Trump. I myself am also wondering whether the Kremlin will reveal (i.e. 'leak) anything. It's well known that they are disenchanted with Trump at this time as the sanctions are still in place and for them, nothing has changed in terms of their financial fortunes or lack of ability to conduct business freely. Time will tell, I guess. Meanwhile Trump spends every weekend golfing at Mar-a-Lago. Based on these Facebook posts, Dan Rather should really do vlogs or podcasting. https://www.facebook.com/theDanRather/posts/10158295903900716
  10. It also says that if Trump is being investigated, check another law enforcement entity because it didn't come from the executive branch. I wonder if INTERPOL has any domain in any alleged investigation since the Russians are involved?
  11. By the way, President Obama's spokesman responded.
  12. Many of us figured this would happen. Team Trump & the GOP is desperate. In six years of hollering for repeal, they've still got nothing, so of course, cosmetic changes then try to slap the "Change" label on it. Wonder how many will be dumb enough to fall for it?
  13. It diverts attention from his disastrous Cabinet picks like Sessions but he also gets to look like a lunatic with no discipline in the process. Any trace of the 'presidential' bearing that the press claimed he had has been blasted away. His minions and fans also get to look increasingly delusional in the process.
  14. "Say, I'm ruining America". OMG.
  15. He's said as much. Just after his win over Novak, he mentioned to a reporter that he still struggles to "get up" for the regular tour matches that don't have the big names. Also, he hasn't had a coach for well over a year now. I mentioned early about Sam Querrey's capabilities so, even though, of all the people I would've put in the final, Sam wouldn't have been at the top of that list, I know that he has the ability to eke out big wins, especially if his more talented opponent is flat. I didn't even bother with Nadal and Cilic and I fell asleep during the Kyrgios and Querrey match. I mentioned like, last year that 90% of Sam's matches put me to sleep, no matter who he plays. His matches against Isner have been the worst though.
  16. The Trump administration appears to be floating the idea of a military response to North Korea. I wonder how many in the military feel about this? Perhaps the more money means a lot more 'boots on the ground' type of action in return.
  17. I got caught up watching videos on You Tube. I tried watching the match for a few minutes, and was not entertained. Tuned in again 20 minutes or so later, still not amused. Back to You Tube. Oh well.
  18. Most of the news concerning the women is off court since I don't know anyone who can actually see a women's match right now...well, legally anyway.
  19. Still boggles the mind that they thought for one moment that this would end up any other way. These HBCU heads really let their students down.
  20. Nafessa Williams has also been cast in the show. I guess she'll be playing one of his daughters? Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain Join CW’s ‘Black Lightning’ Pilot
  21. @Vee posted a similar article on this same topic but I had to post NPR's tweet because who the f*ck uses AOL mail to conduct professional correspondence?!
  22. Sorry but I disagree with the assessment of Kyrgios being overrated. If anything, he doesn't know what he wants. If he were to train at the level that the other guys in the Top 15 trains, he'd be getting better results far more consistently. He hasn't even had a coach for a year now. He's beaten Roger, Rafa and now Novak. He'd have beaten Murray by now, if he didn't think that Murray hung the moon. Jerzy Janowicz was overrated when he was cast as tennis' next giant killer (having only beaten one of the big four). I don't know whether Nick will ever fully realize his talent but I don't put Nick in that category with the likes of Rosol or Janowicz.
