Steve and Kate were main characters, played during this time by Ron Harper and Diana Van Der Vlis. Kate didn’t die, it was Ellie. She was murdered but I don’t know the details. Not sure how prominent Ellie was but she was played by Zohra Lampert. Mike Bersell played Ellie’s son, Peter. I think Peter was killed off shortly before the show ended (burned to death).

I don't know the actor sitting with Wanda, but I think that memorial might have been for Vinnie, not Jim Craig. Found the first article in a March 6, 1981, newspaper re Vinnie's death. Nat Polen died in May 1981. Found the second article in an August 22, 1981 newspaper. It appears that Jim Craig's death wasn't commemorated on-screen. I would be surprised if Ron cared about Mike. He killed off Laura like she's a day player type of character. We've seen more of Gwen and Xander in the Horton house than any of the Horton family lately. This week is the 50th anniversary of Days going to #1 in the Nielsen ratings for the first time.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the actors. Mike was a prominent character for 20+ years after his “birth,” even as a child. He does have a son, Jeremy, who was on the show mid-to-late 2000s. Played by Trevor Donovan.

I started watching Days again (after a very long break) shortly before Nick came on board. He quickly became a favorite and remains so. There are plenty of other characters still on Days who have done as bad or worse things than Nick. And he wasn't even all bad, even at the end. He could very easily be brought back (assuming BB wanted to return). I've always believed that he didn't get support from tptb because he's not the conventional soap hunk. But I find him very appealing and he would have completely been my type when I was young, lol. Nick being intelligent is a plus for me too.

Do you know whether he emceed Inside Story and was married to Kathryn Card? If so, this is the right one.

This is a synopsis of what was happening on Days during Abe's first appearances in 1981. David was on the run after being framed for shooting Alex Marshall. Abe was trying to catch him and Julie/Doug/Val were helping David hide. The blackmailing fugitive who had David was Nick Corelli. We had not yet seen Roman.

@JermsieHorgan's character on The Doctors was Dr. John Morrison, a psychiatrist who was married to Althea and was desperate to hold on to her. Some consider John a villain but I don't, lol. He kept things interesting anyway.
