  1. From watching episodes of SG's Melinda...the character could have worked had the character been bought back when Dorian was on the show. Melinda and Dorian had a complex relationship...different than Dorian's relationship with Addie.
  2. I do know John/Jill/Ashley went to Victor and Ashley's wedding..so it appeared they knew of one another on some level. I think Victor and Jabot start interacting more in the fall of 1984 on a business level..but it's 1985 where the Jack/Nikki/Ashley/Victor takes off. Ashley spent much of 1984 dealing with two men vying for her..while Jack is finishing his marriage to Patty and interacting with Lindsay..while Victor/Nikki deal with his mom coming into his life, etc. Y & 4 was more like real life..everyone living in their own orbits and than poof..they interact.
  3. Seeing DA as Jill been nice. But seeing her face off against Katherine was interesting. I felt more sympathy for Jill than Katherine. Usually in Katherine and Jill scenes...I usually think both are at fault...so it was interesting seeing how changing an actor can change the dynamic of a feud. With BD, Jill was colder and her fury was contained in cold and nasty putdowns. Like Ice. With DA, Jill seems more vulnerable..like a wounded bird. Effective technique imho With JW, Jill is fiery and driven to emotional outbursts. These different takes on Jill changed the dynamic between Jill and Katherine.
  4. Ashley pre Victor...much better than the woman obsessed with Victor.
  5. April had some fire in her final.scenes...but I would have kept on Barbara a bit longer.
  6. Sheree and Nene's talking heads during that scene were hilarious while mama Joyce's facial expressions were priceless
  7. It's odd seeing Jill and Andy being romantic..but I could buy it with DA playing Jill. BD and JW's Jill wouldn't have ever considered dating Andy. What led Jill and Andy to date? Did it have to do with Phillip? They seem a nice couple..but no long term potential..imho
  8. You'd never see a soap nowadays attempt this story nowadays. It's a good thing effort, but I feel it was just a prop to break up Cal and Lyla..more than an actual story for Simone...who could have been a character that stayed on long term. Edge of Night did a story kind of like this in the 80s..including a discussion about Thanksgiving. We went backwards instead of forward sadly.
  9. Seeing Patty in 1982, she had the rare distinction of being a good girl and being interesting at the same time. I often wonder how she would have played the shooting and the aftermath. And I do agree had she remained, she would have carried story well into the 80s..maybe even being Danny's end game. And her return in the 2000s had potential had the show kept her as eccentric instead of making her full ok crazy. Early on there was a scene where she admitted her anguish at not comforting Paul after Nikki broke up with him. Shame writers prefer over the top instead of more relatable moments.
  10. Anytime a Snyder is taken to task is a happy day for me. Worst family ever created..except Iva
  11. It's a shame that the Williams family was phased out in the mid 80s because all soaps need a middle class family...which I don't think we've seen seen on soaps since the 80s. Nikki and Victor were toxic even in 1982. Refreshing seeing Jill and Katherine not interacting. It.was a mistake putting them back in one another's orbit
  12. After seeing clips of April in 1982...I think the casting of Vail Bloom and later Jennifer Landon was perfect as her daughter April.
  13. I did like the July 1982 blurb with Leslie asking Lori to keep away from Robert lol Bell seemed to just end stories quickly that werent working. I have a feeling the Lori/victor story was meant to go longer but JLB made the story end quickly. I'm wondering if Chris was kept due to hercontract..and once her contract was up..she was written out. Lucas was dropped..but who could he have been paired with? Casey was promising but she left so who knows who else he could have been paired with. Perhaps Claire, the crazy wife of Robert..given his past ties to Leslie maybe? I do get Leslie didn't fit into the landscape anymore...but curious why the family couldn't have stayed on? Although, if Angela had stayed..we wouldn't have had Lauren most likely. Also, seeing Traci in 1982 shows the strength of soap operas..character evolution and rooting for the under dog.
  14. I mean what writers would u want to appear?
  15. I did watch the reunion, Paulo seemed kind of frenetic. I do like the pieces of info we get on these (i.e. Kimberly brown was up for the Judy Garland part, turned it down, and Tammy got it). I love the Beth Ehler stories..she seemed like a cool person through the late 90s.
  16. From what I recall McPherson came in shortly before AMC was to start production and that Ginger Smith/and a few actors said that if it weren't for her..they didn't know if they would have been able to get started on time. I do recall she was chosen out of the blue, and I'm curious why it took awhile to find a HW for the reboot AMC?
  17. I think Drew became a heavily featured character cause of Tammy, not cause of a strong character. It's a shame Drew and Wendy's Dinah didn't interact cause they could have been scheming cousins.
  18. It's a shame that Kristen and Felicia weren't on the show at the same time back in the 90s. Just a little overlap..and no exploration into what their relationship as sisters were like. Both had strained relationships with Stephanie..but for different reasons (Kristen because she was close to Eric and Felicia because she was similar to Stephanie). It was an Avenue that Bell never got to explore sadly.
  19. Alan needs to sit back and let the actors talk..only stepping in if silent. Alex might have moved on from the Mindy and roger affair had Mindy not switched the DNA results. Had the show written it that Alex felt like she was reliving the past trauma of having her child taken from her..it would have been better. The story worked, just not how it was written.
  20. Do the women on NY housewives know that antibodies in blood means it was a past infection and offers some degree of protection..and that Andy Cohen has recovered from covid-19? I hope it's a rumor because the other women sound ignorant if true. I'm curious if Shannon's positive test result has halted production..or if the show is filming the others (maybe doing zoom calls to check in and have filmed).
  21. I saw those episodes from 1980 when the Williams family came in..and she played a devoted wife and mother...and she was more well rounded. She was an atypical Bell character and I wonder if that's why she had become the busybody caricature by the mid 80s because Bell didn't know quite how to write her.
  22. I do recall in the ATWT Marland generated that he had no idea what to do with Jay....was there anywhere to take the character or had he run his course?
  23. The thing is that OC and Dallas could have modified their filming (i.e. less in person gatherings, more individual vignettes, and maybe a few Zoom happy hours). I did hear possible new housewife on OC and Gina got into it via wearing a mask..so I'm hoping it was filmed.
  24. He was too busy working out his daddy issues with the Buzz character is my theory
