  1. Watching this 1986 episode and I had no idea Jimmy Lee, Brian and Rick were still around at this time, although I think it's near the end for all of them. And I have no idea why they named a character "Marco Dean." Maybe someone was having a wink at OLTL... Ginny is annoying. David Lewis really was exceptional as Edward. "Diva Von Dish" said at the time that Jake was one of the worst dressed men in soaps...and I can see why. This clip has at about 8 or 9 minutes in Tony and Tania telling Bobbie the name of their newborn daughter. It hurts my heart
  2. Some 1967-era photos of Liz Hubbard. Some of her most gorgeous shots.
  3. I think it was covering the end of 1978, based on the Edge of Night cast photo, so probably early 1979.
  4. 1967 Who's Who in Daytime TV
  5. What an odd style for Lee Godart...and Dan Hamilton looks a lot like Jim Storm. Who did Susan Yusen and David Garrison play? Were they in the cult story? I never knew he was on a soap.
  6. Winter 1970 Daytime TV.
  7. Agreed. The timing is so dramatic it's almost like fiction - right as we prepare for a vitally important Presidential election, and with a Democrat in the White House and a GOP Senate. I have a feeling they may try to block any nomination Obama makes in hopes that a Republican will win in November. Now that people are going to be reminded of how serious this election is, I won't be surprised if Trump's numbers drop and the others, especially Cruz, benefit. Maybe Rubio if he can convince people he isn't just a blathering idiot. Scalia was hugely influential in far right legal society circles. They're going to fight like hell to get someone even more extreme in his place. It won't be pretty. Yep - Ted Cruz is already saying no one should be chosen until a new President is elected. I wonder how long it will be before the GOP - and the media they control - push this as the only acceptable choice.
  8. Hawley was a jobbing actor for ten years and often struggled for work - he seemed thrilled to get a job. I guess he could see this as a springboard for more but I'm not as sure as with Parr, as he has a wife.
  9. I just always think one comes down the pipe, whether good or bad, when a new EP takes over. Seeing as most of the cast loved Kate Oates, I wouldn't be surprised if they left b/c she's no longer there. The only one I can see leaving because she's gone is Mike Parr. It's hard to say otherwise because the show has a bloated cast and a lot of people feel on the fringes, especially Gaynor Faye (Megan) and the Whites. Her tenure was one of the first that didn't have a lot of departures, so I do wonder if it will be made up for now. I have a feeling Tracy and Finn will be gone by summer.
  10. I think he wanted to leave. I'm not sure. I know he agreed to extend his stay by 6 months so that Casey would have a bond with Ellen Dolan's Margo the way he had with HBS, otherwise they knew viewers wouldn't have as much emotional involvement in Margo pulling his plug. I think they could have waited longer to recast Lily, but I also think that the changes were just too abrupt in Lily even with more time. Things like telling sending a letter to tell Hal that Barbara had known Adam's paternity - that was pure spite. Lily at worst would have told Hal in anger, in a spur of the moment action. Frannie was basically still Frannie, and Julianne Moore had not even really had that much of a role as Frannie in her last year on the show. She'd split her scenes between Frannie and Sabrina, and Frannie left town a lot. I was reading an old SOD from 1990 about the nastiest thing your character has done. Liz Hubbard said during the John/Susan affair, she wanted to make Susan fall off the wagon, but the show wouldn't let her. While I respect them for that choice (later regimes would have loved it), I have to admit it would have been interesting to see.
  11. This has 3 parts.
  12. Was there a part 4? I love Christy's line about the black picket fence. Great cliffhanger.
  13. That slap Donna gave Michael was from me... So Christy has made Felicia start to go off the wagon. Very cruel.
  14. I'm glad you've included the emotional toll taken on Carl's family, alongside the games he's playing with various enemies. It adds more weight to the story. And addressing that he's come back from the dead before, which also has an impact on a family. The games between Carl and Grant (with Ryan there to watch) are good though.
  15. There's been a lot of talk that she will pick Julian Castro.
  16. That and Dark Shadows are my only real memories of her.
  17. I thought she looked familiar. She was on Black Tie Nights, which was a softcore Cinemax show that reran for years. She was the "fun" one compared to Amy Lindsay (who recently hit the news herself for being in a scrapped Ted Cruz ad), who was the serious one. She was only on it one season - I think she supposedly quit because she didn't realize how much nudity she'd have to do. She was pretty good - charismatic and fun. Not sure how she is now obviously.
  18. TV Guide - from a February 1971 issue
  19. Sad news. The only positive is she and Gene are together again. I wish more of her work were available. I have an old TV Guide interview with them - it's probably been around, but I'll try to find it and post it soon.
  20. This is hilarious, and typical of far right Republicans who claim to hate porn but always get involved with it somehow: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/cruz-ad-porn-actress-amy-lindsay
  21. I tend to wonder if it was his choice, to be honest - Kirin was never all that popular (although he'd become somewhat more popular recently). He gave some very confused answers about leaving and seemed to feel he'd been misquoted. I will miss him, and how good he looked in jeans. I feel like both he and Vanessa were sort of on the fringes and I wonder how long she will last. I guess it depends on whether they take this as a new lease of life for the character.
