All My Children Tribute Thread
Katharine Kamhi on All My Children, Guiding Light, Oprah cameo & Sleepaway Camp memories! - YouTube Katherine played Pamela Kingsley. She auditioned to play Cassie on OLTL, and this led her to AMC. She said that she asked a recurring actress at the time on OLTL to help her learn soap acting. She said that Tudi Wiggins and Michael Minor were very kind to her. She praises Susan Lucci highly. She also praises Mark LaMura. She was neighbors with him when they were on AMC. Alan asks if it was uncomfortable to play love scenes with him given the age difference. She says that AMC didn't give her any material along those lines until she had been on the show for a year. She didn't have a problem playing love scenes with Mark because at the time she thought of herself as being older. She auditioned for Sleepaway Camp while still on AMC. She had to ask AMC about doing it. They told her she could, but that they'd be driving her back and forth. She said that when she was playing Pamela, women in the supermarket would try to hit her with their purses and she would have to tell them she was just an actress. She mentioned sharing a scene with Oprah. She said that was when she was about to leave the show - she'd been away to do films and they asked her if she wanted to go, so it was a mutual departure. They asked her if she would film a scene with Oprah because Oprah was getting her own show. Her first reaction was what kind of a name is Oprah. She said Oprah was great. Many years later, she got a call from Oprah's producers as they were doing a show about an actor's first scene and wanted her to be in the audience to surprise Oprah. She went to the taping with her daughter, who was 6 months old at the time. She said Oprah loved her daughter and went around holding her. She still has a photo of Oprah with her daughter. When Alan asked her if she preferred her AMC or GL role she said her AMC role as she got to do a lot more and she was the only teenager opposite all the adults. She said that when she had a brief role on Y&R, she reunited with Peter Bergman and he helped her adjust to how much tougher the pace for soaps was by that point.

ALL: They Almost Became
Katherine Kamhi (ex-AMC, GL, etc.) auditioned to play Cassie on OLTL. That's what led her to being cast as Pamela Kingsley.

I think Marland may have been critical, but he mostly did that behind closed doors. Ron never has.

'Different World' Sequel Sets Return Of Dawnn Lewis & Glynn Turman Very happy that Jaleesa will be back, in whatever capacity. Now please have her split up from the Colonel as I never believed that marriage.

I don't think they ever cared about redeeming Marco. He was meant to be a way to stretch the Sidwell story out, make us feel sorry for Sidwell, and reunite Brad/Lucas. After which they will probably go to the backburner or disappear entirely. It's very lazy as well as offputting because they didn't even have the guts to make him a gay villain who would live and die by his crimes in a flashy way. Instead, he did his father's bidding and was shot and left dying on the ground for others to find. Once again if you aren't a very limited type of gay man, you have no chance on this show. I don't know if Stevens is even still in the industry, but even if he is, I will be shocked if this show ever has a bisexual man. Or any American soap, frankly.

Passions Discussion Thread
@Ryanc2 A belated reply but I enjoyed reading your recaps for some of the earlier months of the show, especially detailing the set, which I never noticed as much when watching as I thought it had a somewhat generic look (not just true for Passions but any soap by that point). I think Travis Schuldt was adept at playing the out of touch, lost rich boy, which helped add some purity and clarity to his stupid and selfish behavior with Gwen and Theresa. That is lost with the recast.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/24/democrats-flip-florida-seat-emily-gregory-mar-a-lago This is probably more of a victory to make you smile than a sign of anything really changing in Florida, but a Democrat won the state house seat representing Mar-a-lago. The Republican she beat was a black MAGA, so this will just push that party to become even more racist. A Democrat named Brian Nathan also won a state senate seat tonight.

What is coming will likely make that period seem like paradise. (Dimon is bragging about how good more war in Iran will be so he must not be too upset about the state of things) I saw some article about the US declaring itself insolvent. Trump is already completely bankrupting us, in every way. And this is what the country eagerly voted for.

Oh right. Thanks. I don't remember caring for any of that period of the show so that's probably why I forgot.

I didn't know Viki and Dorian even had one of those scenes during Jill's run.

The thing that annoys me most with Ron is it is always about him. Any discussion. His work tends to be secondary, because past 2008 or so most of his work just isn't very good and can't speak for itself.

@P.J. may know. I don't know if they ever bothered with the past Brad and Jack were meant to have when Brad returned. Valerie was such a unique, charismatic presence. I wish they'd done a better job with her character, but the whole thing was drab and uninvolving. Those types of grifting female characters popped up repeatedly (she wasn't a world away from Gwen's mother - wasn't it Gwen's mother?).- GH: March 2026 Discussion Thread
The constant need to push Rocco closer to Britt is alienating, but outside of his need to protect her, him killing someone felt inevitable due not just to genetics but to the world surrounding him with Sonny and Jason. I imagine there will be a lot of chortling at Dante after his attitude toward Michael and Gio, but I hope they will at least try to give him some sort of emotional material dealing with his son gunning a person down. That was very grim, especially for Frank's GH. I hope he survives. I don't want to see Brad/Lucas so soon (or ever). I do wonder if they were punishing Steve for his break. With that said, the guy who played Callum or Cullum or whatever his name is reminded me of some of the old school thugs who would be able to put a serious hurt on people even if they didn't look that way on the surface. The scene with him and Jason had some intensity for that reason. (the scene where Britt was hitting with her bag, not so much - KT was not suited for fight choreography) The actor looks somewhat like Jason Thompson, which added some unintended layers to that fight with Jason.- Isidingo
Really appreciate the update @vote4llama I remember Nandipha from the brief time I watched, although at that time she didn't have much storyline.- CBS Daytime
