  1. They're good at getting what they want - Democratic infighting, depression of Democratic voters, and sound bites the Republicans can use. CNN loves Trump and they want Republicans to win. Their on-air personnel may hate him personally, but that's not the agenda of the network. I could only watch a bit of the debates, but I found them so dispiriting. - they are so clearly pitched to very left-wing voters, without realizing that most of those voters will never support anyone in the party but Bernie (who isn't even really a Democrat). It's not "Republican talking points" to point out the danger of such a desperate tack to one side heading into fantasy land. - Kamala Harris was clearly unprepared for Tulsi Gabbard's attacks and later just tried to dismiss Gabbard rather than address the criticisms. Gabbard may be toxic and ultimately irrelevant as a candidate, but she is a canary in a coal mine - the people who are backing her are ready and waiting for Harris. She should be more on the ball than this. - Joe Biden just seems frail and disoriented to me. I'm sorry but I have to say it. - As every month passes, Democrats are slipping more and more into their old patterns of essentially saying, "Yeah, Trump sucks, but..." when beating Trump, along with coherent policy plans that go beyond "woke" commentary, are the key. - They are more focused on talking about Obama's failures than they are on a way forward. You aren't going to get any extra cookies or tummy rubs by reminding us of how bad Obama was. The people who are that ardent on this subject are, again, not voting for Democrats anyway. At present, Elizabeth Warren is who I feel most comfortable with supporting (although she also had some issues in the debate yesterday), but I just don't really think, in my heart, she can win a general election. I feel like we're just fucked.
  2. It's been too late for several years now. Trump has just gotten lucky. Sadly I have a feeling his luck will continue and any real crisis (the one that affects people who are seen as mattering) will happen after he's reelected.
  3. Hers or NBC's, I assume. Most of the older actors were frozen out in that period. I remember some fan talk that Linda Dano stepped in to help Schnetzer as it could have been very easy to just completely write Cass out at this point, but I don't know if that's true.
  4. I didn't bother to watch the debate tonight but from what I've heard Marianne Williamson again made a lot of valid points. I wouldn't want her to be President and I have no trust in her, but I'm glad someone is getting some of these things out there.
  5. That was the reason given, but the writer who pushed that idea didn't last long (I think it was DePriest) and for the next year and a half Cass was a lawyer and had a backburner romance with Donna. I think he was put on recurring and then eventually made contract again after Richard Culliton began using him more and his romance with Lila took off. I may be wrong about the recurring part, I don't know.
  6. I never realized that Kevin was barely seen (or completely unseen) when Sally died and vanished afterward. What awful writing.
  7. The video's posted the page before you. He was. Kale Browne and Stephen Schnetzer were also put on recurring,
  8. I think Terri also had an eating disorder in real life, which they worked into Frannie's story. When she passed, the guy who played Jay left a comment on an article (or I assume it was him), which was nice.
  9. That was Frannie (Terri Vandenbosch) and her main love interest at the time, Jay. Kirk, even though he mostly flames through the screen, was in love with Frannie, but Frannie had eyes for Jay. Marcy (Marisa Tomei) had eyes for Kirk. After this viewers learned Jay and Kirk were half-brothers, which was supposed to be very dramatic, presumably, but the incoming production regime phased out the characters. I don't know if Vandenbosch chose to leave or was let go, but she was replaced by Julianne Moore. I've seen the Lujack video, and I've seen soap couples of this era run around set to music, but I've never seen a character fantasize their own music video this way. And it is so so fixed to this one point in time (I kept waiting to see that lady who sings "The Warrior" pop up). The closest probably comes near the end of the decade when Rena Sofer was on Loving and had a fantasy about having a dance floor threesome with her two love interests.
  10. I didn't see this posted. I don't remember seeing this (partial) episode before, although maybe I'm wrong. I certainly don't think I would have forgotten the very, very of-the-era moment of ludicrousness at around 25 minutes. You have to see it for yourself. @Vee @Khan @vetsoapfan @Mitch
  11. If LVP is blocking Brandi she is doing everyone a favor. She is just awful on every level and is one of the main reasons for the death of this franchise. She is likely too much of a liability for Bravo to put under contract.
  12. Did they meet at GH?
  13. I'd totally blanked that Anna Kathryn Holbrook briefly popped up on AMC after her AW firing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ5DgXM8pFE
  14. I have to find something to laugh at these days:
  15. 2019 and thanks to idiots, bots, and the conservative/desperate/cowardly people who run Twitter, ClintonBodyCount is trending. This [!@#$%^&*] should have been left in 1994 but it never, ever goes away. We're never going to leave the '80s or the '90s. Ever.
  16. At least, on the bright side, the media has less and less relevance in this country. I feel like many people moved on from Mueller a long time ago anyway. I did get to see lots of Twitter folks blasting the hell out of Michael Moore, and I'm always up for that.
  17. Ellen Barkin has things to say.
  18. https://pagesix.com/2019/07/22/marcus-hyde-kim-k-s-photographer-accused-of-trying-to-bribe-model-for-nudes/ He worked with Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande, among others.
  19. I have a lot of respect for Al Franken, and I think he's a huge loss for the Senate, but I don't understand the point of dredging this back up. From what I've seen the article did not tell anyone anything new, did not really go into most of the allegations, and all it's done is tear open old wounds and make a number of people lose respect for Jane Mayer after her very strong reporting over the last few years.
  20. A very very brief snippet of when Steve had been kidnapped by the father of a patient. @vetsoapfan
  21. Some great returns. I wish Gates McFadden was returning.
  22. Sad to hear this. He brought such sensitivity to the role. He also did a lot of commercials.
  23. I don't think Iran was going to keep to the deal anyway, but the way we handled the whole thing means they now feel free to do whatever they want.
