The Politics Thread
The "liberal" New York Times strikes again. You can feel the media itching for that Trump comeback. Another day another degradation. Oh and it's also a way to get the story off Kavanaugh, which the media would love too.

I think Obadiah is probably only going to make a few appearances. I have to admit I'm interested to see Charity's father, as we never have in all these years. I can see why others would not, don't get me wrong. Marlon is supposed to be one of the "good" Dingles (whether he is or not is in the eye of the beholder), so she is probably more wary.- The Politics Thread
What gets me is this wasn't even a crackpot theory from a fringe voice, like I initially thought. It turns out many on the right who are in huge positions of power were apparently involved in this plan. Yet apparently they were still protected and deluded enough to just assume Whelan had far more evidence than yet another Twitter conspiracy theory. Even after the fact, "intellectual" blowhards like the NYT's very own Ross Douthat were telling people to give him the benefit of the doubt. I really do have to wonder if the man being accused was not a Kavanaugh supporter, would so many on the right have backed off in the first place? It's terrifying to think someone who is this insanely bold to blast this stuff all over Twitter is so insulated by those who are now running our country.- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
Mark Steines is saying he was fired from Hallmark because he stood up against female staffers being sexually harassed. https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/hallmark-channel-mark-steines-harassment-1202951935/- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Thanks. I didn't know that. Did Arley ever do more daytime? It's a shame OLTL didn't keep her on in some role.- All My Children Tribute Thread
It's good to see you here again! I had forgotten I used to type those up. If there's ever anything else for AMC in those years (in terms of magazine articles) you think you might need, let me know and I'll see if I can help.- German soaps: GZSZ, UU & AWZ

I thought he might have went after all that brouhaha over their comments about Jordan Peterson. I guess Peterson would probably have agreed with this particular essay though...- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I think they want to on some level, as they still show the countryside and still have a farm, but I agree it is not a big priority to them.- The Kelly Clarkson Show Thread
I was a big fan of Kelly's when she was on Idol, bought her first few CDs. I still like her well enough but as the years have passed she's seemed increasingly desperate and near-breakdown point to me, not helped by the marriage that always rings a bit off to me as well (the rumors going around about said marriage don't help). I don't watch talk shows anymore, and no new talk shows last anyway, but best of luck to her.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

Leah had another blog a month ago. https://www.hellomagazine.com/healthandbeauty/health-and-fitness/2018082261505/emmerdale-leah-bracknell-cancer-treatment-update/ https://somethingbeginningwithc.com/tag/leah-bracknell/ I have seen some fans say it may be Jean, but that would give little story as she is only 15. I think Kathy could work as a voice for Joe, as a community character/tie to history and farming, and I'd probably find her more believable with Robert than I do Diane, but I doubt it's her.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Kathy was friends with Bernice and Marlon, frenemies with Eric, and also somewhat close to Robert and Victoria when they were kids. And she was Joe's godmother. I think she could fit in in a matriarchal capacity. I doubt it's her though. Patsy has said she'd return if asked, and Sadie has so many ties (she also had an affair with Robert).- The Politics Thread
The push against refugees continues - as does the push to make them as white as possible. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/18/trump-refugee-plan-africa-middle-east-827968- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
I didn't watch but I heard people say she did as little to mention Sara and Sharon as possible.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I think she will leave with Ross - I don't think that is Robert's child either. I guess we'll see. I am hoping it's Sadie King or Kathy behind the mask, not Kim. I loved Kim but it just wouldn't work now. And without Zoe or Chris around there isn't much impact. Nobody wants to see her fighting with Debbie Dingle.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I have a feeling she and the baby will be gone in the next few months. Did you see this?- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread

I don't want BB to go because I think the live feeds make it one of the more unique experiences on television (and the closest we have to soap-style narratives these days, watching lives over three months) but it needs new producers and new casting styles. And yes I need Julie out of there yesterday. - Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
