  1. It looks like the increasingly desperate GOP are trying to muddy the waters with claims about other men coming forward to say they attacked Ford. I wonder if this was anything close to what they thought Whelan was going to do, and he just went off the rails. All of this is just repulsive and sick beyond belief. I can't believe this is where we are. And that this has become the new normal. It's just going to get worse and worse, more and more depraved and unclean. Pure sociopathic evil.
  2. I saw Dorothy Lyman on The FBI yesterday, as the cantankerous mother of a bad guy. She was in one of those power wheelchairs. I'm not sure if it was for the character or if she uses it. Marcia Cross posted on Instagram about her battle with anal cancer. She says she is in remission now.
  3. I just saw the post saying it was mentioned in the article, so maybe I'm wrong, but this feels like such a sly, CNN thing to do with that headline.
  4. Glad Freema is doing well. The BBC decided to put an article on their site a few days ago that said Peter Capaldi was not "universally loved." While that is true (and no actor is "universally loved" as the Doctor) it seemed remarkably churlish, given how much Capaldi did for the show and what a lifelong fan he is. Some fans and even past cast members like Anneke Wills were tweeting in support of him yesterday. The whole thing just reminded me of why I'm so wary of getting back into the show again.
  5. This is lazy and crass even by CNN standards. Not only erasing the black women who supported Anita Hill, but retroactively claiming all kinds of men supported her when even many allegedly "liberal" men in the Senate let her hang out to dry.
  6. True. It looks like -the GOP is just doing deny, smear, they're out to get this saint of a man, and so on. They're going to push this right through and no one can stop it. Even after Trump won I don't know if I ever felt as sick inside as I do right now.
  7. I find Cohen just unbearable to watch at this point. I made the mistake of trying to watch a clip of John Mayer (certainly no sweetie pie himself, I know) singing "It's My House," and the cooing, mugging, and cutesy-cutesy [!@#$%^&*] from Cohen was so awful I had to stop after about a minute. He is never going to be what he wants to be or what Bravo wanted him to be and I wish they could phase him out.
  8. The jig was up when they refused to ask Mark Judge to testify. They don't care and they know most of the public won't either. It makes me sick. From these allegations, to the others, to the drinking, to the debts, this man seems to be way so many dangerous things that will lead America right into a buzzsaw when he is confirmed. And things like this that don't even get a lot of coverage, but are so strange and disturbing. There was such a perversion and depraved tone to how the '90s Clinton scandals were handled by the GOP (which ended up turning viewers against them by the end of the decade), and I have to wonder if he is a big reason why. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/26/kavanaugh-confirmation-starr-vince-foster-842530 As with the larger controversies Kavanaugh finds himself enmeshed in, the one Feinstein identified is also sexually explicit. It stems from his questioning of grand jury witness Patrick Knowlton, as part of the Starr investigation, about a man Knowlton claimed to have seen in Fort Marcy Park not long before the body of Clinton White House lawyer Vince Foster was found there in an apparent suicide in 1993. After being questioned by Kavanaugh in 1995 in front of a Washington grand jury re-investigating Foster's death, Knowlton complained that the young prosecutor asked him inappropriate questions suggesting Knowlton might have been in the park looking to have sex with another man. "Did the man in the park pass you a note?" Knowlton recalled Kavanaugh asking, later followed by an even more jarring question: "Did the man in the park touch your genitals?"
  9. They will do anything to get Kavanaugh on the court and they know they won't face that much blowback in the Senate races because most of the competitive elections are in hard right states anyway. The media also seems reluctant to go against Kavanaugh. I think they will just keep their heads down and be rewarded for their craven cowardice, as they always are.
  10. I think he waited several days too long (if it was the client's choice I respect that obviously). We're at the point now where this is going to be pushed through no matter what.
  11. Parts 2 and 3 also have Dynasty material (and both are also NSFW, just to warn) including interviews with various cast members, Nolan Miller, and the Pollocks.
  12. You wouldn't have a man with a body like that on a cover today. People would bitch about him not being roided out, or about his having a hairy chest, or whatever else. Everyone has to look exactly the same now - usually, like boring twinks, or dead-eyed ab machines like the hacks on Riverdale.
  13. I hadn't seen her in a while, aside from an occasional statement she makes that gets noticed. She looks about the same as she has for a long time. I always forget she and Johnny were in that Vacation movie as the kids were kind of superfluous by that time. I wonder if he had a hand in her casting. Johnny seems to really fit Roseanne (or The Conners as it is now called) even after all these years. I'd say more than he did on BBT.
  14. @SFK @Vee @DaytimeFan @YRBB @Khan I thought some of you might like this. I won't post every video to save space but you can find them on the uploader's channel. It's hosted by the late, great Kate O'Mara and has a number of Dynasty ladies interviewed or listed. A number of Dynasty cast are also interviewed. (I should warn the first video has a naked photo of Stephanie Beacham)
  15. This show just can't stop giving the Palins checks. I guess this is part of ABC's attempt to shore up right wing support. Good luck with that.
  16. Kind of makes me laugh that the audio is of Jack saying "I think I'm getting my touch back" and a promo all about how hot he is. The last thing I've been able to say about him in a very long time.
  17. He's one of the most deluded people I've ever seen. He's so deluded that many think it is an act, which is one of the reasons he was elected. "Intelligent" people up high who should have worked harder to stop his winning assumed they could control him. They were wrong.
  18. That's why I said Trump just makes it more overt. Our global standing dramatically slid around 2002 or 2003, with a President who not only didn't even bother to learn proper names and could barely hide his disdain for the world around him, but who was involved in war efforts that were soon revealed as being built on lies, lies that killed countless people. And then we had Obama, who, yes, was mostly hated and mocked because of racism. Now we have Trump. The world order has moved further and further away from us over the last few decades and I am just hoping the one positive in the damage Trump has done is that these issues have finally gotten too obvious to be ignored or papered over.
  19. We've been here since W. Even Obama, who always behaved with grace and intelligence, was treated to abuse that no President had ever faced from other countries in recent times. Trump mostly just makes it more overt, but the one bright spot of the humiliation is now people know what our place in the world has been and will be from now on.
  20. Great news for them. Thanks. I'd forgotten about that.
  21. Who was the famous person who came out as having MS? The whole thing with someone telling her to "use" her MS is just crass, if typical Hollywood. What would that get somebody anyway, really? Teri Garr came out as having MS a number of years ago but beyond some sympathetic headlines it doesn't seem to have made her a fortune.
  22. Disgusting. And yet he, and the media, are desperate to convince everyone all he did in high school was go to the sock hop. (this is from the NYT so yes I am a hypocrite)
  23. I'm wary of how many are now pushing Avenatti as some kind of crusading hero and tsk-tsking Democrats who don't walk behind him. Something about him and his grandstanding just feels off for me. I'm also wary of these accusations, especially the way he's framed them. I know a lot of people (fake concern trolls, like that Jedidah who was on the View and the ever-phony, smarmy Beltway shill George Stephanapolous, and people with real concerns) are concerned about the way the New Yorker story was written too, but at least that didn't come across to me as attention-seeking.
  24. I read that the White House was going around using the NYT quote to make sure people didn't believe the New Yorker article. Between this and Rosenstein it seems like the NYT has stopped hiding any pretense that they are working hand-in-hand with Trump and his people, who are presumably giving them access and making them feel special (and this is all the media elites really care about, as shown in the W years). When will those who "resist" - I don't mean the average person, but someone with real money and power - start shutting out the Times from being able to have it both ways? They want to stay in bed with Trump? Fine. Then just leave them there. I always had a feeling Kavanaugh would still get confirmed, as McConnell has no other options, but this "it's a smear!" wah-wah fest seems especially craven and sad. It won't work for a supermajority of the country. This is clearly designed to gin up the base (those who are, sadly, often most likely to vote), and weak-kneed types like Susan Collins, who has repeatedly hidden behind the "those liberals are so mean to me" excuse for her supporting Kavanaugh. When this is over I'm hoping people in Maine (which I know is not a big liberal state, don't get me know, but this isn't even about being a liberal at this point) will finally see through her and send her packing in 2020. It's long overdue. I know this isn't a laughing time but this did make me laugh: Yes, "Amanda Mills" was a huge fan of Ronan Farrow's since his childhood. Do these bots think Ronan was on Silver Spoons or something?
