The timing is definitely a good factor for Biden - a 1-2-3 push days before voting. There are a lot of votes already cast, of course, but still, it's a good media earner and momentum booster. I suppose Warren did him a huge favor by goring Bloomberg on national television the way she did. If not for that I think Bloomberg may have been the main rival to Bernie, even with SC. (speaking of SC, I read that Michael Moore was on MSNBC yet again whining about how South Carolina voters are not representative of America - not so subtle coding going on there from someone who was last relevant in 2004, and didn't even deserve to be relevant then).- The Politics Thread
I didn't see Kornacki's remarks at the end but did see the initial clip. He was clearly very upset and even though I had no use for Matthews, I did feel for him. The magic of live TV. I'm not too sure where Warren's strategy is at this point - she's obviously not just playing spoiler to Bernie as she chose to go after Biden instead. Maybe she's waiting to see what Bernie will offer her? I don't know if the trio of endorsements will help Biden much (I was genuinely surprised to see Beto among them, and the meltdown on Twitter from those who have irrationally loathed him for ages was great fun [with a bonus Shaun King drag]), but at least it gives him some of the momentum he desperately needed going into Super Tuesday. Now the question is whether Bloomberg's money and ads will be enough to keep him afloat and splitting the vote or if it is fully Bernie vs Biden. If Bernie didn't have such awful supporters and wasn't running such an arrogant campaign this might be over already. I guess we'll see what happens today. Anyone in a Super Tuesday state who is voting in current conditions - good luck to you.- Doctor Who
I'd heard some say that it seemed like Yaz was being built up as the main companion. I haven't been watching...mostly following along at most. All the retcons seem needlessly confusing, although Sacha Dhawan is gorgeous and I'm glad he has continued Michelle Gomez's work of making me forget that Anthony Ainley or John Simm ever existed.- The Politics Thread
I think the criticism of Buttigieg not representing most lgbt people (and beyond lip service not even trying to represent anyone who was not just like him) was valid. It's unfortunate that those concerns were overshadowed by those who hate themselves and have to hate everyone else in order to get validation. Ben Mora, Bernie's ex-field director, was back on Twitter and talking about how conservative men who are caught in hotels with rent boys are better gay representation. (he was then suspended again and went on about how they'd taken so much from him...too lacking in self-awareness to know that perpetually trying and failing to audition for a Topeka adaptation of Boys in the Band is why he is where he is, not Twitter). Many of these same types of Twitterati also hated Harris and went out of their way to attack her in the ugliest terms. They do nothing but drag down everyone around them, and I have a feeling they're one of the main reasons their dear leader has underperformed this entire primary.- The Media/Journalism Thread
I no longer see any difference between Fox News and other media outlets. This is beyond forgiveness.- The Politics Thread
I know there were many more underlying issues, but the imagery of Public Enemy breaking apart over a Bernie Sanders rally cracks me up.- The Politics Thread
Those are such powerful images I almost don't even want to tarnish them my talking about the general election talk... I too thought Buttigieg would drop out after Super Tuesday, but he was going nowhere and he's never been going anywhere. He should have dropped out last year. I hope that he at least dropped out in time to help Biden a little more in the Super Tuesday states. While I don't think most of the reasons people opposed him were down to homophobia, the amount of homophobic commentary I saw about him reinforced my longtime views that much of the Democratic Party is very happy to go along with anti-gay talk and views, especially if it's someone who is seen as "the wrong kind of gay." And many gay members of the party are happy to as well. They don't ever understand that the people who hate gays hate ALL OF US, not just the "wrong kind." They will see that when the people they are empowering come for them.- The Politics Thread
Yep. I also think she exposes how toxic many of them are.- The Politics Thread

Byrne's the MG tonight.- The Politics Thread
I know Super Tuesday will take us back to the norm but boy am I enjoying the meltdowns from the cultists tonight - especially the idiots who are getting upset because the win was called at 0% (with no mention of Bernie's Nevada win getting an early call). Cynthia Nixon was even angry over that - poor poor Bernie. Just sad. I'm also hearing a lot of "black voters in South Carolina are old and conservative and don't speak for us." No. I'm just guessing based on the polls for Super Tuesday. We'll see.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I read about that. Disgusting and unsurprising. I had wondered if he might try to take this seriously given the huge hit the economy is going through, with the economy being his main election tool beyond paranoia and the culture wars - I guess he's doubling down on the culture wars and deciding to just let the country burn. And sadly many, many people will go along with him on this. I've been guilty lately of all but saying that Bernie and Trump are two peas in a pod. This response has been a needed reminder that that isn't the case, and even though I still don't think Bernie can beat Trump, I will vote and try to help him win if I can.- GH: Classic Thread

Even such a life-and-death issues is subject to secrecy and to conspiracy theories from some of those Trump is likely to listen to most. The far right are making it out that this is just another "Deep State" scheme from Rod Rosenstein. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/02/26/trump-backers-coronavirus-conspiracy-117781 The sad thing is many will believe this. I naively tried to hope that when Trump was elected, someone somewhere would still be in place to put the brakes on this type of insanity taking hold of all forms of government, but it's clear now those days are long gone. - The Politics Thread
