  1. I loved Sherry Stringfield so much that I viscerally disliked Liz Keifer for years. It was only during the atrocious "twins by two fathers" story that I came around to Liz, because that story was the absolute pits and she somehow made it work.
  2. I know Silver has spent a lot of time criticizing the media in recent years but I'm genuinely shocked to see that type of comment from him. I wonder if he's moving into the Dave Rubin territory of becoming a conservative for cash.
  3. They were trending on Twitter so I mostly found out from there. I think deep down they're still upset they can no longer call him a friend. They were so far up his ass early in his campaign.
  4. I saw Joe and Mika (Mika as always doing that oddly subservient head-hanging-down whenever Joe speaks - scary) sad-facing and moralizing about the chants. All I can say is:
  5. Not that it is going to be very interesting but I also remember Soap Opera Weekly commenting at the time on some oddly filmed scene of Abigail throwing jelly beans in the air in slow motion, or something along those lines.
  6. Thank you for sharing these treasures with us as always.
  7. A lot of people tend to enjoy these games - it's one of many reasons it's hard to come here now. Anyway, I tried to find some of the episodes you wanted. Unfortunately the episodes she appeared in (August 15-19, October 7) are not online.
  8. The best of Corrie ended in about 1995. Then at a push, early 2005. I will say I thought the episode on Friday where Sinead died was very powerful.
  9. I appreciate the idea of common ground, but the idea that black voters aren't supporting him because he's gay is unfair - if that is what the headline is implying. His record as mayor is likely the main reason.
  10. I haven't seen anything about it. John Conyers passed away.
  11. Bernie is too old to course-correct and clearly doesn't care about doing so. I'm torn between whether Buttigieg could or if he is just feigning an effort to do so. I keep resisting the urge to delve too much into the latter because I don't think he has a real shot anyway, but I guess it depends on how Biden fares in the next few months. Reading about Trump's descriptions of the dead ISIS leader - whimpering and how he 'died like a dog,' all just reminds me of the sadism and callousness of this man and his administration. I'm glad that so many people immediately shut down the rah-rah-rally stuff from the usual suspects by pointing out Trump himself refused to praise Obama for a much bigger strike against terrorism than yesterday. I was very disturbed to read that he didn't tell ANY Democratic leaders of Congress what he was doing. This sets a very dangerous precedent.
  12. I saw some responses to that telling people who were upset that this is what they "need" to hear. Just so disrespectful and arrogant to tell people who have lived their lives in terror that they need to listen to a rich white man tell them they and their parents know nothing.
  13. So tired, if not surprised, by the media pushing the likes of Mattis and John Kelly.
  14. Thank you for sharing that with us. Holy crap those last few photos probably scared the hell out of readers.
  15. He makes John Malkovich look like a sex god. We're never, ever going to leave the '80s, are we. Well at least we have some good music and TV...
  16. I've always thought Linda Evans was a bit butch, and none of this did much to help matters. If JER had been writing this story, he probably would have had Rita assume Sammy Jo was hitting on her, and crawl into bed with her.
  17. I'm glad this is being called out while there's still time. Terry McAuliffe has very deep ties to the heart of the DNC so if he's saying it then clearly they're alarmed. On another topic, I was watching, because I guess I have no self-worth, a Chris Cillizza video talking about whether other candidates will jump in, and he said the only current candidates who have any chance are Biden, Warren, Sanders, and Buttigieg. It threw me, because Kamala Harris is on a level with or above Buttigieg in polling, and is also doing well in fundraising. It does feel like the media is now, as some of you have suggested, trying to freeze her out. Cillizza is the belt buckle of the Beltway.
  18. I would guess she ignored their advice. She seems to have lived vicariously through her daughter, and probably just can't believe she actually did anything wrong. Even now much of her or her team's focus seems to be on these stories that are being spun to the press.
  19. The title sounds like a birth control device.
  20. Wasn't there some controversy in this or the last election when a Dem candidate said Scalia was in the mold of a justice they'd appoint? I think some give these names to try to seem impartial, whether it makes sense or not.
  21. Chilling. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/oct/24/majority-of-voters-think-violence-against-mps-is-price-worth-paying-for-brexit
