Doctor Who
Maxine Alderton is a very good writer (although she mostly became known for writing a lot of material for a toxic and abusive m/m ship). I wish she was working for a better producer.

Stefanik is one of those who gets gushing press because of lip service about wanting to bring women into the GOP. We see how well that is going. The media and the GOP have already set the narrative and have declared victory for Trump. I am just hoping the Democrats will somehow scrape through next November.

Miller is just a terrifying and disgusting figure. That we now take his role for granted shows how far the country has fallen.

After gushing interviews from the likes of CBS, media pet Nikki Haley has, surprisingly, been getting a real roasting in the press today, including from unlikely sources like Joe and Mika and (of all people) Savannah Guthrie. I think she expected to be able to thread the needle - coasting on the longtime press goodwill and also managing to maintain the support of Trump and his dead-eyed sycophants. The most interesting part is many of his true believers still don't like her and still don't trust her. They too see her for what she is - a worthless opportunist. I think what so many of these husks don't understand is that Trump's true believers aren't just playing along - they are serious in what they feel and what they want. They have been emboldened and they aren't going back. We saw this again recently with a new nationalist group (not really new - just going by a new name) who showed up at events headlined by Dan Crenshaw, Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro, so-called "reasonable" or "intelligent" conservatives who have tried to have it both ways. This group is hardline anti-Semetic and showed up to try to push about backing away GOP support for Israel. They aren't putting up with mealy-mouthing or it's-all-down-to-the-libs anymore. This same group recently crashed Don Jr's little "triggered" cash grab, demanding open Q&A sessions and running him and his trophy girlfriend off the stage. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/11/donald-trump-jr-walks-out-of-triggered-book-launch-after-heckling-from-supporters Once all these con artists have decamped (or gone to prison, or what have you), the increasingly virulent fringe right they helped create will be left behind, continuing to push their tentacles out further and further into society.

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/11/11/deval-patrick-democratic-primary-2020-069535 I know the field isn't that good but I don't understand all these candidates jumping in way too late. I don't have anything against Deval Patrick but does he actually think he will manage to do well this far into the game? He's just going to be in the same divided pool of voters as about 7 other candidates.

It's always strange to step back and remember the daughter from The Goodbye Girl is now on Twitter blasting people. Here she is with the sociophatic and monstrous Gym Jordan.

It's because Obama winning was seen as an anomaly, a correction that had to be fixed. That's one of the reasons Romney got such push from the press in 2012 and why so many were shaken that it was never very close. Trump winning took the country back to what the media expected. They just feel ashamed because he isn't respectable, handsome, or able to fill their daddy issues the way Romney or McCain could.

Most of the Politico pieces I saw amounted to "why?" and "well...alright I guess," but I did read on Twitter that Morning Joe was fawning all over him.

And the 81st anniversary of Kristallnacht. Reading some of the tweets from Jewish people today talking about how afraid they are was heartbreaking.

I know Politico is Politico, but they broke down some of the second and third-guessing from people tied to her campaign and how that set her off balance. It reminds me a bit of Hillary's campaign issues, especially in her first run. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/11/05/how-kamala-harris-went-from-female-obama-to-fifth-place-229901

I saw that Harris is getting a lot of praise for her appearance on Joe & Mika Are Garbage People. I'm starting to think maybe she can have a comeback soon.

Unfortunately I'm not sure of anyone in the running who can do that. The way this primary has been structured and the flaws of the candidates has suppressed so much voter enthusiasm - it's 2016 deja vu all over again. The best to hope for is the anti-Trump message is enough.

It feels like over the last week or two a lot of backlash has come her way on all sides. I think we're at the point where many in the party would rather support Trump than vote for her. But I'm not sure what other options there are at present, unless Harris has a comeback. Sadly, I'm starting to wonder if Bernie will end up benefiting from all the hostility toward Warren and slide into the nomination.

I'd never seen that. Thanks. The promos for the CBS soaps in this period were high quality.

Oprah's too smart to run. The problem with Bloomberg is he's too experienced in the ways that people hate. Buttigieg not being that experienced gets him some disdain and some support for being a fresh face. There's nothing fresh about Bloomberg. He's the symbol of a culture many despise. His arrival only strengthens Warren and Sanders. This makes me wonder even more if some of these billionaires have secret communications with Bernie and are fine with him getting the nomination as long as they stop Warren, who seems less likely to be wooed. The only thing that may stop them is that the Kentucky governor is not a very powerful office, and they will control every other statewide office. Bevin is also widely loathed.

Nice photos. So lovely to see everyone. This montage is so beautifully done - it gets you emotional even if you weren't the biggest fan of the couple.

Speaking of Moore, it looks like Jeff Sessions is running for his old Senate seat. https://www.politico.com/news/2019/11/06/jeff-sessions-senate-alabama-000321 "stunning comeback" mentions tell you who the media already is rooting for, no surprise there. Doug Jones has done what he wanted with these two years, rather than worrying too much about triangulating, so I have to respect that, especially when I remember how many jeered him before the fact and insisted he would just be a Republican. I saw that Bill Gates can't even say he would support Elizabeth Warren over Trump. The attacks against her, on all sides, have ramped up heavily in the last few weeks. It's interesting to me that these attacks have not been thrown at Bernie. I'm guessing because many rich people know deep down he doesn't mean what he says and is just conning his followers. (I do think her decision to call Biden a Republican was cheap and needless, and I can't get upset when he insults her in response) I also saw that a dumbass senator from Louisiana went to one of Trump's hate rallies and went on about how much Nancy Pelosi "sucks." This senator being one that the media likes to go to for quotes and pass off as a heavyweight. The amount of support toothless wastes of space like this get for going into the gutter makes me sick. Speaking of sickness, Trump looked like a dehydrated Butterball. All the bile inside him has truly taken him over.

Whitney Houston dead at 48!
I imagine a lot of people will call her an opportunist, but she kept silent after the likes of Bobby Brown dragged her and dragged Whitney through the mud for years. I'm glad she is telling her story.

The media spin will be that Bevin was the least popular governor in the country, Republicans won all other statewide elections (one by a black man, which means lots of gushing over how diverse the GOP is and the Democrats are only supporting whites for President, wah wah wah), but Trump chose to make this race all about himself. He and his sycophants in the media, like Chuck Todd (who was grinning on national TV about Republicans winning and the message this would send about impeachment), did this. They took what would not have been been major news and made it major news because narcissism and sickness is more important to them than common sense. This amused me. This is the woman who flipped off Trump's motorcade a few years ago. She won a seat on the Loudon County Board of Supervisors. https://patch.com/virginia/ashburn/woman-who-flipped-trump-projected-winner-loudoun-race
