  1. I didn't know that until recent years. When I did, it made sense.
  2. I'm torn between thinking he's a grifter who knows his cultists will lap it up, or he's a deluded old fool who is very happy in his bubble. Look at this absolute nonsense about how he'll get his health care sham through. There are no people to rally. McConnell won't do anything, other than grind the idea into the dust. I'm amazed at all these trust fund Bernie brats who claim that he is the one who will get things done because he's going to take on the system. He's going to suck from the trough, along with those around him. And the poor will continue to suffer and die while his groupies yuk it up on podcasts.
  3. I think she secretly paid for his writing to be published. He hit the roof. She left town with her old love, Colin (I think). I still wish sometimes they'd tried a gay story with him as I get those vibes from him here and there...but they were never doing that in 1987. They wouldn't even now. I thought Steve Bassett brought so much to the role, even what wasn't really on paper at times.
  4. Thanks for finding that. Looks like this was one of the missing 1987 episodes. Even if not much happened, good to see another moment of that era - it's also a good reminder of how you don't need OTT Friday cliffhangers. Tom's letter to Sabrina was touching (I can't imagine Scott Holmes saying that stuff for some reason). It's too bad they were never close, because of what she did to Frannie. There's an underlying sadness in Sabrina's story because everyone wanted her to have the big happy family but it just wasn't mean to be. The Craig harem always fascinates me - as much as I did appreciate the friendship between Betsy and Craig, referring to themselves as brother and sister after their history together was odd, and him kissing her on the mouth was even odder. No wonder Steve hated him... I love that porno music playing as the intro for Judith Clayton's show. Good to hear Jill Larson's voice too. And John going around Oakdale stirring the pot against Lucinda - Larry Bryggman does so much with all those stolen glances. Such a soulful performance from Lisa Brown, as ever. Poor Iva... Holden as insufferable as ever, and the Lily stuff is as silly to me as it often is. The whole idea of her throwing Dusty a birthday party baffles me. Marland sure loved his birthday parties though.

  6. The sad thing is the leaders of Utah will probably support this gutting of lands. I don't think what Romney did was brave compared to, say, someone going into a burning building (I know no one was claiming this), but I can see where it would be seen as brave for his party. It's unfortunate that common decency is now brave.
  7. Great work. My Photobucket is full so I couldn't put them on there again...I'm glad you were able to make them so presentable. Even after all these years of seeing it I still wish they'd had more of a full cast shot.

  9. I had downloaded these Loving episodes (some partial) from Youtube a few years ago. As I haven't seen them uploaded since (the channels were terminated) I decided to reupload them before I lose them. Can anyone help me with a more specific date? @dc11786 ?
  10. Thanks! I'm so ashamed to not remember where I knew him from - he was malevolent shadow government agent Herb Ketcher in my favorite Wiseguy arc (the Proffit arc). He was so mean to my beloved Roger Lococco...
  11. I've lost some things - could you remind me what date I uploaded the photos? Sorry.
  12. Are Sally Gracie and Mary Frann in this ad? The man at :38 is so familiar too but I can never remember his name.
  13. I think it's his attempt at a 'moment in history,' which is what he's been trying to have ever since he ran against Ted Kennedy in 1994. Now he's got it. There's been a lot of pushback against lionizing this or Pelosi's paper-ripping, calling them both performative and hollow while real threats are still being enabled. I can see those points, but if people who are in a world where they can barely get through each day find some comfort in these moments, hollow as they are, then I don't begrudge them.
  14. I remember Harding Lemay complaining in TV Guide about how ATWT (when he was a consultant there) had three characters who had their own private jets. I guess one of the upsides of the cheap seats GL in those last few years was it felt a little closer to reality again, in some ways.
  15. I would say it may also leave Susan Collins exposed as the fraud that she is, but I don't really know if it matters to Maine voters.
  16. It's that time again... https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/brutally-honest-oscar-ballot-irishman-was-boring-tarantino-amazing-1275576
  17. I think Biden split votes with Klobuchar and Pete, and I think his general demeanor over the campaign trail has made people reluctant, even if they support him in a poll. Beyond that I think people are also fed up with normal, or are just fed up of the process, period. I've been upset by just how ramshackle all the campaigns are, to the point where I'm having a harder and harder time imagining the election being competitive. Meanwhile, you have the grifter's sycophants saying stuff like this: I don't want to be anywhere near a party where people like this are dominant. It makes me want to just give up on the process. And if Bernie is the nominee, I just may do that.
  18. Biden had fallen in polling toward the end and had stopped contesting the state as much...a part of me thinks well that's just Iowa, but he has so little money and no real momentum. I'm hoping South Carolina will turn his campaign around but it's what happens after where I'm more wary. If any other centrist alternative was viable he'd probably be done soon, but they aren't.
  19. Are you sure those aren't the lyrics to "Seasons of Love"?
  20. I wonder if that's why he doesn't talk about the movie. Wikipedia says she was on from 69-70.
  21. Thank you for finding this. Good episode. Love all the focus on such complex female characters like Ava, Gwyn and Egypt. The more poignant moment with Ava and Kate was a good balance. I could have done without the baby talking though... Richard Steinmetz was a looker back then. @SFK you might enjoy this one as it has Minnie. @slick jones if it helps with your lists I think that's Ami Brabson as the nurse.
  22. Thanks. That makes sense.
  23. Seeing the cultists stamp their feet on Twitter has been the tonic I really needed today. They are such disgusting people who emulate Trump and who constantly push conspiracy theories and spew poison even as they constantly claim to be voices of righteousness and goodness. They were so sure this was their big moment, years in the making, only for it to be gone forever. To know it was taken from them, and partly because of operations their dear leader insisted on implementing, is very satisfying. Whatever happens next, however much they ruin the rest of the election and try to give Trump another 4 years, I will always look back on tonight and laugh at these Very, Very Special and Intelligent People resorting to trying to make "Mayor McCheat" trend like they're writing a [!@#$%^&*] McDonald's commercial. Good times.
