  1. Isn't there a CBN radio soap with Kimmy Robertson (or she used to be on it)?
  2. Normally I don't link that many videos, but the scenes with Iva and Emma are so incredibly powerful - Kathleen Widdoes, who rarely got the meaty material she could have had, is especially wonderful, with Lisa Brown shining most in the quieter moments of pain. The darker side of the Emma/Iva relationship, like Iva getting together with John, or Emma learning of the Aaron lies, is so compelling. It's also interesting to be reminded of just how much Marland had clearly planned out the Snyder backstory (other than Iva being adopted, I guess). I do wonder how viewers at the time felt about two women they didn't know (or a woman they had only seen months earlier as Nola on GL) getting such intense scenes involving history they knew nothing of, but it's much better to watch than whatever the hell Steven Weber was doing in this episode. I love how, in the last clip, Marland does not tip off viewers about Iva being Lily's bio mom, but does have that "it's so good to be reunited with your long lost daughter" type line as a wink to what is on the way. (this episode also reminded me of my view that Martha Byrne had much more chemistry with Brian Bloom than she ever had with Jon Hensley)
  3. Budig was cold and dead.
  4. I've gone back to listen to those several times over the last decade - the episode where Meta tries to reach out to a deeply embittered Trudy is a real standout. I'm not sure why GL never bothered with Trudy - even Irna seemed to want rid of her. I didn't realize just how many times the radio soaps went off and then had to be revived.
  5. I wasn't on at the right time to watch today. If they ever have another I hope someone asks Kathryn about when Kim was meant to be 'bad' and the audience reaction to her and the show changing that up. I know she said in 2010 that she felt like the material early on was taken from her own life, even though she knew that wasn't the case.
  6. I'd love to see any of those. @EricMontreal22 it's good to see you back again.
  7. Didn't they also try to get Ellen Holly back? They may not have made as much effort after that point.
  8. The dead enders, who never found an election they didn't lose, are gloating about what a terrible statement this is. To me it's something he should have said from the start. I'm glad he finally did.
  9. I liked that when Lemay briefly returned, he revived the tension between Liz and Rachel that had been mostly written off by this point.
  10. @dc11786 thank you so much for the rundown. To be honest I wonder if that may be why the video seems to be in limbo at the moment - you don't usually name names that clearly. Here is the Ava audition piece.
  11. Looking around it seems like Youtube is having problems. Hopefully it will be back later today.
  12. I hope you all are right about the CNN poll being rigged...I see so much Trump support out there, in the real world and so many loud voices on Twitter, I tend to think polls are undersampling his following. As for Burr, I have no sympathy for him, but it's telling that he was zeroed in on, unlike Blair Warner, considering he was seen as not being protective enough of Trump during various investigations. I imagine she will be given the boot by primary voters soon enough and can go cry on her silk sheets.
  13. Seems to be gone now, sadly.
  14. Welcome. I saw these a few weeks ago. Thanks for sharing. I love those credits.
  15. So yet again a handful of states dominated by people that hate everyone (themselves most of all) will end up deciding whether this country has any chance left. I'm so tired of this. It just feels pointless.
  16. Mr. Show returned to give the world an "Imagine" parody about two months late. Guests include Amber Tamblyn, Bryan Crantson, and, I think, Amy Carlson (??).
  17. Regarding Tony, the glimpses I've seen of him in Marland's run aren't all that likeable to me - he seems brutish and cold and excessively judgmental, similar to Holden, a character Marland created and wrote heavily for but who always alienated me. The Reardons in general aren't all that likeable to me for much of that period. I remember @saynotoursoap used to say, years ago, that it was Pam Long who made them feel more likeable and like a family.
  18. More shitshow decisionmaking. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/13/usda-food-bank-contracts-256452
  19. Even though he went on to repeatedly have stories with characters on desert islands, and made Dusty into a thug so one-dimensional Danny Santos looked like Roger Thorpe in comparison.
  20. Shameful, and totally predictable.
  21. So sorry to hear this, glib as that sounds. I hope all will be well for her.
  22. The heavy press and GOP push on "ObamaGate" and attempts to make the Russia investigation seem like a complete sham are part of the above effort from Trump and his administration, and likely his foreign string-pullers, to gut this country's future.
