  1. I've seen a number of people say Puerto Rico would probably have one or even two Republican senators, but I guess Republicans aren't willing to take the risk. If Democrats ever get power back, unlikely as that seems, I hope they will be as ruthless. If Schumer ever goes that may happen.
  2. There could be, but it would be costly and time-consuming and I don't think they would have the stomach for it.
  3. Grassley and Graham definitely will not. I agree they won't expand the Supreme Court. I don't think they will have that power - frankly, I don't even believe Democrats will win the Senate, as their polling has regressed and as always bad choices have been made (like people dumping too much money on a weak candidate just because she's running against Mitch McConnell) - and even if they did, they wouldn't pull the trigger. I don't agree that a victory would mean zilch. There are a lot of other problems we're facing and while I don't believe Biden can stop most of them, we are now at bare minimum level. Trump and those with him will eviscerate every last shred of this country. We may all be dead soon whatever happens, but there is no "may" if Trump gets 4 more years. I don't even say that to be hyperbolic at this point. We will be, or what will happen will be worse than death. I wish we lived in a country that did not put so much priority on the Supreme Court. I hope that this means the dream has finally ended and those in charge will make other, tougher, long overdue choices that should have been made a long time ago. I didn't think RBG would make it, as much as I hoped she would. I am so numb to what is happening and to what is to come. Everything just gets worse, and will continue to get worse, with little likelihood of change for the better. All we have left now is that tiny fragment of possibility, if we can grab it before it's fully gone. If this is what some needed to stop the weird fetishization of public officials and to start focusing more on policy and on the realities facing us, then that will be the one good thing to come out of this loss, and out of America being such a desiccated, likely beyond repair country.
  4. 20 is their largest cast ever, but a few will be seen less in parts of this season (Cecily and Bowen early on, Aidy and Kenan and I think Kate later). I have a feeling some people will be leaving midseason. I love Jason Sudeikis but I will give Jim Carrey a shot as he fits current Biden more. I just hope if Biden wins it won't be another "oh I hate this but I am still here" bit like Alec Baldwin does. Here's a recent fundraising stream with Kamala Harris, Amy Poehler, Hillary Clinton, and Maya Rudolph.
  5. Thanks again. I read she was mentioned on the show recently. If so that's nice.
  6. Which is likely one of the reasons the media is trying to shift the topic to anger over Biden's people tweeting that he's from Scranton, not Park Avenue, and why Russia and rose Twitter are trying to distract by hyping a sad and very obviously clipped two and a half year old clip with Cornel West and their fantasy fascist, Tucker Carlson. The Kushner stuff is blood-boiling, and just another reason why I feel foolish for briefly hoping, post-election, that Kushner and Ivanka might be some kind of stabilizing influence. The sad part is there is so much of this stuff, piles and piles of malice and sociopathic behavior, I feel like most people have completely tuned it out. Even stories like quacks in ICE giving mass hysterectomies have barely gotten attention.
  7. Disgusting and selfish to the core.
  8. Thanks, Paul. That is fascinating. I never knew that. Guess it didn't last long. I think Courtney Simon is the mother in this ad.
  9. Thanks @Forever8 very kind of you.
  10. The Intercept dipshits are also trying to strongarm Biden about doing Rogan's debate. I wish these mentally ill, racist-enabling pricks could just go away. Speaking of pricks:
  11. Thanks for finding that. @dc11786 filling us in about the Deborah/Steffi backstory helps make that conversation between Deborah and Clay richer. I have to admit I find her more interesting as a colorful schemer, but it's nice to see NAA get a chance to act. Michael Weatherly and Amelia Heinle really did have terrific chemistry. That the brewing conflict in Steffi is character-based and believable makes it more compelling. The Alex and Ava conflict, while well-acted, is not compelling as it feels false. It mostly just tired me out. The Gilbert/Jeremy scenes were more interesting than I expected, however.
  12. Pathetic. Washington Post is no better than New York Times.
  13. Greenwald now spends his time shilling on Tucker Carlson, supporting men like Aaron Coleman, and doing a podcast with incredibly toxic figures like Virgil Texas and Brie Brie Joy. Everything about him is so offputting yet he just gets one pass after another.
  14. As someone said, Bill Janklow redux. Yet they continue to elect Republicans anyway, including the dead-eyed hack who wants to put Trump on Mount Rushmore. I hope that Andrew Gillum has a happy life, and I hope his wife can also find her own happy life or can forgive him; I am also sorry his privacy was violated in such a disgusting manner. But I don't think I can take any more politicians coming out solely because they were caught behaving in dangerous ways or breaking the law. A lot of people are just looking for a reason to vote for Trump, or have already decided to and can just use this as cover. It's going to be a razor-thin election, and we're going to have a very hard time getting through it, whatever happens.
  15. Interview with Heather about 4 minutes in.
  16. I agree, although we are now moving to the point where Trump and his allies like Roger Stone are openly talking about declaring victory and using force even if he loses. And the media will likely back him up.
  17. To be honest I've seen very few fans who ever liked her. I did like Trevor, but mostly in his quieter moments.
  18. It's incredibly predictable, yet incredibly infuriating, that the media is happily pushing the GOP narrative that tries to say Biden is no better than Trump on COVID response or that he is even worse. So much of the media hates us and they hate this country, and I hope if Biden is elected he has people who will finish the job of crushing our current media culture that Trump has started.
  19. Yes, the mugging is unbearable. Sometimes as I get older I think I fell into the trap of rooting for the "bad" or "misunderstood" character (Janet) and being too hard on the "good" character, but no, she still annoys the [!@#$%^&*] out of me.
  20. Watching this (very jumpy) clip, I can't help noticing how maturely Erica is written, and how many times after this they would needlessly regress Erica in order to have her re-learn the same lessons over and over and over.
  21. Wasn't it a combo of the Merrill/Roger affair story not clicking and Patricia getting her hair cut without asking permission?
  22. How sad that a very conservative Republican has to say this when many "progressives" like Jeet Heer are pushing the fantasy of Trump being an anti-war candidate.
