  1. Thanks for sharing that.
  2. That makes sense about the house. I had forgotten he didn't say it to Paul. I remember there was speculation they would move back to the Street. I'm kind of glad they didn't go that route. Nicola's comments did go international, because she chose to have a big rant about the show after the finale and it was on Daily Mail. I had forgotten she also complained about the show last year during the racism row so she clearly has an axe to grind. I do wonder how bitter she is that they didn't bother to ask her. I can't say I'm sorry. Izzy served as a more compelling figure for Karl and Susan angst. You probably already saw this but the actor who played Danny Ramsay was upset as well. https://metro.co.uk/2022/07/27/original-neighbours-star-slams-show-in-blistering-rant-17075497/
  3. Thanks as always for your tags @victoria foxton
  4. Oh I'm not doubting you, it's just these things go through so many channels and layers, I hope we will hear more someday. It was nice of you to donate to Trent's theater company and I'm glad you enjoyed the call.
  5. I want to get more word on that, but even if it is true, sadly I had accepted a long time ago we were never seeing any of that anyway. The only thing to hope for is that eventually some type of ardent support system can exist to find old soap material along the lines of those that exist to find other old TV content, and try to find every last scrap of stuff floating around that we can.
  6. This is a good read, especially the part about how well Harold still managed to fit into a Neighbours that was so different than his own. http://perfectblend.net/comment/theperfectend.htm If I had any real complaint about the final episodes, beyond Terese/Paul (which the actors did sell), it's that I wish they'd let a few more characters actually leave - Leo, for instance, I am not sure would want to stay in a place where he saw his girlfriend/mother of his children die not that long ago and was then involved with a con artist he watched get dragged away in handcuffs. I do get the power of the imagery in almost everyone staying, of course. Other than trying to figure out just why they were there (I guess Shane brought them as a goodbye surprise when he thought Paul was leaving Erinsborough) even the Charlene and Scott parts work well enough on a rewatch. It adds a certain multi-tiered quality as they are literally in their own little sphere, Susan is in her own, and they both look at all around them as the credits roll.
  7. The NYT willing and begging for the GOP bloodbath they are built on. And this will only get louder and louder. I really hope there is eventually a left-wing President who will gut and rebuild the media of this country the way it needs to be gutted and rebuilt.

  9. Stephen and Julie Osburn wanted to leave. Stephen then agreed to return, presumably.
  10. Schnetzer had left in late 1986 and returned in fall 1987.
  11. The Hollywood Reporter speculated that CBS would begin airing a daytime version of An Affair to Remember (based on the Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant weeper) in September 1976.
  12. Gawker has written what is essentially a hit piece on behalf of The New Yorker - oh and the woman who wrote the piece is the daughter of a longtime New Yorker columnist.
  13. Another reminder of how desperate the media is for their narrative:
  14. I was worried she would try to tank it entirely. Hopefully the bill will pull through.

  16. And of course the usual dead end leftists on Twitter are shouting "what about America? what about America?" and not even pretending to care about her.
  17. This is probably the only part that almost amuses in this whole sick joke. Jamey Giddens and his pals at DC went out of their way to badmouth PP and the AMC and OLTL revivals. They were desperate to make sure those shows never had a chance (not that they had much of one anyway). Now, after all that self-promotion and hype, and a flop show elsewhere, Giddens is on a soap being dumped into a situation similar to AMC and OLTL 2.0, only with much less notice, care, or fanfare. I hope all the people in the industry who got the knives out for their little fiefdom are taking this moment to feel proud of the end result.
  18. Thank you @slick jones for the listings and the photo, and thanks again @jam6242
  19. You are a kinder person than I am - I don't think he gives a damn about DAYS, as he didn't about OLTL. He cares about his ego. He may have had some type of affection for the soap genre, but that has never translated to his writing. With that said, I don't blame him for where DAYS is now. It's a miracle, and very hard work of the cast and crew, that the show has lasted this long. This day was always coming.
