  1. He is generally blamed for the death of the party.
  2. I imagine the McColls all being gone by that point probably played a big part too. I never can remember if Cris Leblanc wanted to leave or if he was let go.
  3. The New York Times is so easy to focus on, due to the disgusting Haberman and similar enablers of fascism, that the many dregs at the Washington Post get a pass. Here is one of the worst of Politico doing the usual wagon-circling.
  4. @I Am A Swede
  5. I tend to wonder how much Eileen will want to say anyway - I remember at the Paley Center she was very gracious. The Eileen who gave sassy comments in magazines or books is someone from 20, 30 years ago. I am sorry she isn't getting a better interviewer but mostly I just hope she's doing alright, as I guess we all do.
  6. Royce Keller on ATWT.
  7. IIRC, Mark Pinter said that after Marland arrived at ATWT, he told Mark that he was writing Brian out of the show, and that it would take about a year. So I guess most of that story was planned in advance.
  8. Another lowlight for the wretched Maggie Haberman.
  9. All this seemed to really kick into high gear with Gottheimer and his friends refusing to support the drug pricing legislation. That is not about "solving problems" for anyone but your big pharma donors.
  10. Thanks. Lynn is who I was thinking of. I didn't know about Mary. The '70s seemed to be much more lax on actors finding acceptance in porn and outside of porn, either because of lack of knowledge, or because it was seen as artistic at that time, at least in some quarters. The Moral Majority + the cheap-ass look of video took all that esteem away.
  11. He did some gay but also quite a few straight films, which was more common back then. We probably can't link to the site but if you search IAFD Wade Nichols they have a full list of his films.
  12. They're around if anyone wants to see them. He mostly did straight porn, I think. I assume it was down to the people up high never watching those types of films and Dennis presumably never alienating anyone to where he would be made a liability. He had a tough job to take over a beloved fan favorite's role, and mostly did it without any real missteps.
  13. Do you mean on EON or on soaps period? I think HTSAM or LIAMST had a porn actress in a central role. I'm not 100% though...maybe it was just an exploitation actress.
  14. Their Twitter account did put a tribute to him, with an old photo of Michael and Brenda. I was surprised they did that much.
  15. I think one of the unfortunate lessons may have been that misogyny still trumps all.
  16. I stopped watching L&O about a decade before it ended. The show became too focused on paper-thin "oh let's cover THIS scandal now" material and lost any soul, and a number of cast changes had made the show a national joke [just ask Elisabeth Rohm...). I wish they had kept the show on at least one more season, because I do get why Dick Wolf wanted that record, but unless they commit to going back to the early, gritty days of L&O, without the glossy cast and vacuous tone, then they should just leave it to the past.
  17. Reading about some Trump-obsessed Congressman from Florida hitting Jon Ossoff in the head with a baseball at the Congressional Baseball Match (he was wearing a helmet, but that isn't the point) just reminds me again of how ridiculous and outright dangerous the "bipartisanship" of DC is. These people are insurrectionists. Some of them even gave instructions to rioters via Twitter during the attack. The time for chumminess is over. These people are threats to society and no Democrat with any sense, one who isn't a right wing piece of garbage like Manchin, SInema, and their pals, should remember that.
  18. Kate Mulgrew is an excellent actress, but I just never cared about Jack/Mary, and looking back, chemistry alone was not enough to make up for some of how Jack behaved (like abandoning Mary for much of her pregnancy). Mary herself was so self-righteous that I just never really connected with her. I never thought Faith worked as a character. Catherine Hicks was very sparky and gave some strong performances, but even then I still did not like the character, nor did I care about her relationship with Pat.
  19. Very sad to hear this. I had almost forgotten he hadn't passed away - then I remembered his son had. Such awful news. He cut such a dashing figure as Quint - soaps have become so absurd and have been so absurd for enough years that it's hard to imagine what GL fans could have felt about all of the gothic, Late Show-esque trappings of the early Quinton storyline. Tylo sold them with panache. I'm sorry that he never got a proper farewell, but I do like that, thanks to an ad-lib from Lisa Brown, we know Quinton and Nola are probably still out there somewhere, adventuring and living their dreams.
  20. I can't remember about Adam Jr as it's a later plot point that Nicole and Miles want a baby. I think maybe he's just offcamera?
  21. Great find! I had no idea production was so down to the wire, or that they were still taking such massive precautions. I guess they eased up for a while as we saw characters kissing so what is coming up is probably going to be more severe? Boyd was also one of my favorite characters. Fascinating, very handsome and charismatic, and I really liked his friendship with Drew. It's frustrating because most people who leave this show don't seem to do exit interviews. I would like to know what he (or the guy who plays Prince) had to say.
