  1. The channel uploaded another episode I don't think has been on Youtube for a while. This doesn't feel as dead as a lot of episodes around this time period tend to feel. And there's a lot of Lyla, which is nice for me. I thought Steve and Carol were already married at this point. Frank Runyeon is so much more natural here than he was in later years as Steve. My favorite scene in this episode is between Carol and Tom - Justin Deas is so tender with her and you wouldn't know he was the second or third Tom to have been in the part since their characters split up. There's something very natural and special about Rita Walter compared to a lot of other people who came and went from the show by this point. I know this was 1981 and probably common at the time, but Carol telling her daughter to go up and down various elevator floors because she was bored/in the way is crazy. Annie being pregnant here confuses me because I thought she was pregnant later in 1981 when Carol and Steve wanted to adopt her baby. I guess she was still pregnant then and lost the baby? How far along was she? And if Carol and Steve hadn't been together long, why did they already want a baby? This must be one of Dana Delaney's first episodes. It's a bit surreal seeing Dana and Margaret Colin sharing dramatic scenes knowing they'd go on to so much '80s and '90s TV. I can't remember if I've ever seen Bob with a beard before. I wonder if Don was in his, "I'm bored, I don't care," era. He looks good!
  2. Thanks @Vee. Waris and Carole Ann still cut a stylish figure.
  3. It's funny how Howarth spent a decade on GH and nearly a decade on ATWT, but nothing he did in nearly twenty years captured people as much as those first two years he spent on OLTL.
  4. I'd imagine this will free up some budget. I hope it's used wisely.
  5. You'd think so, but Barbara is in such a bubble in any episodes from that period. As you've said, we'll never know.
  6. I don't remember them having any chemistry. He is the one man I remember Rebecca Budig having chemistry with.
  7. @Vee That's great news. Thanks for sharing!
  8. No. They don't put much dress rehearsal stuff anymore. I won't be surprised if it comes back this week. Yes, her Jennifer Coolidge impression is a lot of fun (and Coolidge was gracious enough to praise her).
  9. On SNL last week, Chloe Fineman did a Weekend Update piece as Bethenny Frankel, talking about a Housewives Union. It was cut in dress rehearsal, but the show really wants to make her happen, so I could see it being back this week. Chloe doesn't do very cutting impressions, but I imagine it would give Bethenny something to talk about.
  10. That's awful. I had no idea about everything with their mother.
  11. Snooze seems to cling on for dear life, as Kill Bill did. I don't really know how SZA does it with the claims of having poor management.
  12. Thanks as always for what you do @slick jones
  13. @Vee apparently the guy quoted in the article isn't thrilled.
  14. Cirie is a bit of a reality TV legend. She's been on Survivor repeatedly and a number of other shows, including The Traitors recently. Matt sucks.
  15. A very frustrating article suggesting that two Hartnell episodes, one of them from a Dalek story (likely meaning part of the Daleks Master Plan opus) are in the hands of collectors who will not give them to the BBC due to fear of being prosecuted. Lost Doctor Who episodes found – but owner is reluctant to hand them to BBC | Doctor Who | The Guardian
  16. That was before my time with the show but I had read about his fight. So sorry to hear he's passed away.
  17. Another example of how lawless and dangerous many Republican legislatures are in ways that even elections no longer counter.
  18. He might have, although the heavy voter suppression was probably the deciding factor.
  19. @Vee That's a neat crossover. I still avoid most RTD related projects so didn't know that.
  20. The various analysts like Wasserman had been predicting Democrats would take the legislature, but I was still very happy to see it actually happen, especially after the endless media hype for Youngkin. They were especially obnoxious in insisting he had shown the way forward on abortion. The Beltway keeps doing their best to will abortion away - they will just have to spend the next year trying (already I am seeing that they are saying the results last night show Biden is the problem, not the party) I was sorry that the woman who was subjected to vile attack ads and fliers over doing porn lost her election for state rep, although I wonder if all that time spent ended up hurting other Republican races. Democrats also won a state supreme court seat in Pennsylvania, now having a 5-2 majority. They also did well in New Jersey. New Jersey Democrats notch big legislative wins after bracing for losses - POLITICO Another positive was in a number of places, hatemonger school board candidates, again heavily pushed by the media, lost. The fears over losing abortion access (as many voters seem to sense, no matter what the press and some Republicans tell them, that everything will be taken away) seem to still cross party lines enough to matter, even as Ohio lurches further to the right. It was interesting to see that abortion and recreational marijuana won by the same amount but with very different coalitions (the latter performed much better in rural areas). And of course the state legislature is already announcing plans to try to throttle both vote outcomes.
  21. I'm half-surprised Brad Bell has never tried to recast Thorne again.
  22. Thanks. So lovely to see everyone, especially Carole.
