Tank Jobs and Sabotage
This always annoyed me. Not as much as it did with Lois & Clark, as the stunt casting ruined that show after a decent first season, but it still annoyed me. I actually preferred the first season or two (it helped that I didn't know what a piece of [!@#$%^&*] Scott Baio was), even if it was never a good program. I remember preferring Burke's Law.

Thanks. Sorry for not tagging you. I remember at the time wondering if Carly might sleep with Andy as that would have been a believable step in her plan to get Mike, given that he was Mike's good friend. One of the reasons that I was and still am so annoyed at Andy's firing in 1995 is that he was pretty well-integrated in the canvas, even with his closest partners all gone. There were so many places to go with Carly in that original run, although I think Maura was right to leave at the time given that she was having a baby and the show had had her have a miscarriage while pregnant in real life, which I hate. (I am not saying that's why she left - I assume she just wanted to focus on being a mother)

Thanks. I never would've known. They should have had her join Knots instead of Aunt Betsy. I think they got cocky because Dynasty had recast a number of characters. They may have also thought people just saw Miss Ellie as another woman, interchangeable. The difference is Dynasty never recast the older characters that tended to get the most attention. And Dynasty was a hollower show. Barbara Bel Geddes was just irreplaceable in the Miss Ellie part.

That could be fun, but probably too confusing to sell. A CBS promo heavily featuring JR, Clatyon and Sue Ellen. Funny to see them try hard to suggest JR should ever be around your child.

I wish they'd give some of that money to the state legislative races.

The long-term with GH seems to be phasing out any black characters, including probably the most popular black character they ever had. I do think of the current black character group Jordan is probably the only one they will keep, and TJ, I suppose.

Robinson's positions there are mainstream GOP positions now. Minus (publicly) liking trans porn I suppose. Robinson is comparing himself to Clarence Thomas with the high-tech lynching quotes and refusing to drop out. Given how misleading NC polls have been in the last two cycles I think he will only narrowly lose, and Trump will eke out a win. It's very hard to imagine that poll with Harris winning NC and losing PA. The state polls being this close, given the likely undercounting of Trump's support, makes me uneasy. Still, better to be ahead than behind, if it lasts. Nebraska Republicans may try again to give Trump that electoral vote Harris would have won otherwise, and it's too late for Maine to change their rules. https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2024/09/18/winner-take-all-push-gets-help-of-gov-jim-pillen-sen-lindsey-graham-trump/

I'll never stop missing GL. Due to how little seems to change in culture now, the end of the show doesn't feel as far away or dated as it might have in past decades. I am just glad to know there are still others out there who loved the show and still do. GL and P&G truly put us through the wringer. I agree Moniz and Blanchard were both at their best in the late '90s. And even though Drew's stories had no long term impact, I agree I was more invested in her plots than most of the rest at the time. She had such a vulnerability, I had to care about her.

They would probably cast Juliet as a not dead Cora Miller.- Y&R: Amy Lewis Returning
That would make an odd sort of sense.- Y&R: Amy Lewis Returning
At least we're past the era of finding any long-ago primetime name as they would have cast Jim J Bullock.- The Politics Thread
The West Coast Teamsters have also endorsed Harris. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/09/18/west-coast-teamsters-endorse-harris-00179923- Y&R: Amy Lewis Returning
That's a good point. If Steven Ford is still willing to come back this would be a good time for an appearance. Another reminder of how sad whatever happened with the show and Doug Davidson is.- BOLD: New Forrester cast & another returning
And there's a 99% chance Maitland Ward will not be back. I know she did not leave with Dylan but they may as well bring Dylan Neal back to give some sort of continuity. I guess they at least remembered a former Forrester, but there's not much point here.- Y&R: Amy Lewis Returning
I'd forgotten about Lauren and Traci. Lauren in particular would make sense. I wonder if they will even interact.- GH: September 2024 Discussion Thread
This is why when I see people on Twitter going on about how much they miss Guza because something was always happening and the stories all made sense and were character-driven, I am bewildered. So much was just gross trash that scars the show to this day. I get why people miss him but the rewriting annoys me. - Y&R: Amy Lewis Returning
