I think late 1984 GL was when they started becoming so focused on plot over character. Just as an example, the Maureen/Ed/Claire/Fletcher mess. Did any of that benefit the characters or have any reason? By the time they got to the Alicia/Charlotte story it's unintentionally hilarious hysteria.

That story had a lot of potential, instead of killing Beth off. I would have had a Jason/Cassie/Andrew/Beth/Marty story, Beth and Marty in love with Andrew, Andrew in love with Marty, Jason and Cassie begin to fall for each other, with Dorian hurt because of her past with Jason.

When I found out about this I had a real problem with it. I feel like this child was Cassie's replacement for a dead son. That's not a good place to be, mentally. When OLTL brought River back they should have done a story where he learned about all of this and lashed out.

I guess they killed her off just to give Cassie a baby. I think it would have been more interesting not to immediately give Cassie a miracle child.

Naming him after River Phoenix would have been a nice touch, although it would have added even more to the depressing material surrounding Beth and Cassie. A medical professional wrote in to SOD blasting OLTL for how inappropriate this story was and the bad message it sent. Susan Bedsow Horgan responded that some of the scenes which would have given more balance were not shown because of OJ.

That last photo with the purple bellbottoms fascinates me. It's like they took a teeny, tiny head, and put it on a giant body. I don't get it. The red dress photo looks like Death Becomes Her. I think the shoe closet one is best.

In fall 1990, Jim DePaiva was in talks to play a Keith Timmons recast on Santa Barbara. He said he loved the role, but that they wouldn't give him enough chance to work outside of the show.

Derek Dane! That story with Stacey ended so abruptly so it's nice you remembered them. So Jake is her father? This makes Stacey look pretty bad since she must have been with him around the time he slept with Donna (and raped Marley and slept with Paulina, etc.), which Stacey used to take away custody of Donna and Michael's adopted son, Mikey. When this comes out I hope Donna rakes her over the coals. Nice of you to let Cameron leave with class.

He played Curtis when Curtis was married to Lotty Bates. I've always had a hard time imagining him in the role. He also played Sean Baxter on ATWT.

Wow. There are sites which tear photos like this apart - I can't remember the names, but if you know them you should submit this. What I notice first is that they apparently erased one of her arms. Unless Susan Lucci is going to be remaking Boxing Helena (and I'm sure she'd do a good job, but...), get that out of here.
