Geoffrey Hughes has passed away. You may know him best as Onslo on Keeping Up Appearances. He was on Corrie for nearly a decade as Eddie Yates, a binman who started out as an unseemly character but soon became like a son to Hilda and Stan Ogden. Many of their most popular moments were with Eddie, like when they were raising chickens, or when Stan accidentally had their clothes taken to the dump. I don't think the Mitchells have been a family in about ten years. I never bought Ronnie/Roxy as close to anyone else in the family, and the show ruined all of Phil and Grant's kids. Billy has never fit in. I would have done more with Glenda/Ronnie/Roxy. As it is now I wish they'd just write the Mitchells out.

I think Sharon could be a little aggressive at times, like when she took down Chrissie or when she returned in 1995 for her revenge against Grant. Not really sure about now though. I've never understood what this Billy/Jay relationship is supposed to be. Billy took Jay in out of guilt because he helped cause Jase's death. Then Jay barely appeared for a year. Yes, he said Billy was like a father to him, but I never really understood how, or why.

Ricardo's revenge story was panned by the soap press, especially the stalling out of it. I didn't watch regularly but I always thought Clive Robertson was a little wooden. He wasn't that bad?

In spite of everything I do think there's still some life in Walford, which I can't say about any of the other British soaps, which now feel completely dead and suffocated.

I think it's a cool commercial, the best they've had in a long time. I'm not quite sure it fits Sharon's character though.
