  1. Seeing this reminds me again that Ann is just so dull. She didn't have to be. The Dolly plot doesn't work even here. I think we got a more palatable episode of it, but it all seems like a hand me down of a Bette Davis potboiler. Bad dye job on O'Hurley. Trachta was the second Thorne. Powell played Rebekkah, who was described as "witchy" in some magazine. I think she tried to keep Linc and Lorna apart. How long is this before Susan Walter left? I thought most of that story took place with the O'Hara recast.
  2. The production values were very good. The opening shot of the party is gorgeous. I've heard so many bad things about the Dolly story. Here it just seems very dated and overly melodramatic. And out of place. Who was the guy with the older woman at the start of the second clip? Was he looking at Shana? I thought Agnes Nixon was still writing for the show at this point. Ava is such a breath of fresh air.

  5. My favorite is the Ellen/Penny reunion. 1996 episode. Mostly the soft porn stuff that was so dull. I did enjoy the John/Lucinda scenes. Bronson Pickett was a good actor in spite of the role. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8qQu8Bx710
  6. Bob Filner has resigned. San Diego can't catch a break with their mayors. I hope the next one will be better. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/08/bob-filner-resignation-letter-reports-95852.html?hp=f1
  7. I didn't even know he and Jane were on SFT at the same time.
  8. Thanks for telling us about this. It's so interesting.
  9. SFK may know.
  10. Supposedly she had said she wasn't happy with the commute anyway. This never worked. The relationship with Leanne was forced and barely written for, she didn't make sense in the Rover's, and she just seemed dull. Every character Collinson pushed on the audience was a flop. I will never forgive the show for making this dullard the centerpiece of Betty's goodbye episodes. We're going to hear all about what a loss this is. Spare me.
  11. If you want the date of the magazine let me know.
  12. Thanks for updating this. I loved reading the script. I gasped when he joked that he was sure he was this baby's father, considering the paternity drama over Mike.

  15. ITV have terminated his contract. http://www.itv.com/news/update/2013-08-19/report-coronation-street-actor-chris-fountain-is-sacked/ I have to admit I'm surprised it went that far. Given Kirkwood's love for bringing back characters he once obsessed over, even if he has no plans for them, I wonder if Justin will return. The show must be in real turmoil at this time. And the "press" over there, as always, tend to make it worse. Daily Mail has some bizarre article showing how this proves the show is near-extinction, and goes on at length about "political correctness" because of that weird anti-racism story. I wish I was surprised that we tend to hear this once overrated media pet Phil Collinson - who destroyed most of what was left of Corrie - is gone.
