I just got around to watching this (a month later - literally!) It confirms how many similarities Dru and Jill had, as the whole episode is about their making messy, emotional decisions. I love that we saw so much of Jill's vulnerability here, instead of her just being written as a plot device or a bitch. Victoria and Victor calling Nikki "mummy" creeps me out. I'm glad they dropped it. Victor is so arrogant and of course if he hasn't seen anything wrong with Nikki, nothing is wrong. At least he later admitted his mistakes here. So this is the first time Cricket met Neil. Since thanks to her he knew about Danny it's surprising he didn't figure out who Nina was, given Nina's name being in the papers, but I guess he only read the financial section.

I thought he had some energy and charisma, and even chemistry with Lisa Brown, but his work had no resemblance to Quint. The show had done such a hatchet job on Tylo's Quint that I remember reading that some fans at the time actually preferred Josh Taylor.

I hope you're right. I don't have a lot of faith in Brandi, especially if something like that would get attention.

The whole thing with the beauty pageant was a hideous character assassination designed to make people cry for dead fish Katie. I didn't have a big problem with Lyla singing, as she got the job because of her son and then she mostly did club dates and cruise ships...although the bit where she almost had a recording contract and had to give it up was kind of stupid. Reminded me of Alice (I did prefer Anne Sward's singing to Linda Lavin's, though). I thought the line was a coincidence since Bryant was just a temp recast, but you might be right. They could have reworked it.

One of the problems is I think a lot of people put up with Peggy because of Barbara Windsor. The woman playing Linda doesn't have that type of appeal. The most I hear about her is fans complaining that she looks too young.

After last season all I could think is are they going to make racist remarks about her.

I think a lot of book fans are struggling with the show this season, for many reasons. I got into the show first and just started reading the books recently. I can sort of see both sides. I will say that Prince (don't know your first name - my apologies) is fairly even-handed compared to a lot of book fans I've seen online, who can sometimes be very poisonous if they feel the show is betraying the books.
