EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I've always thought Shirley worked well on her own. Or she could if they wrote it. I never liked her with a family. Rewriting her personality and ripping off Kat's backstory doesn't do her any favors.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Given that the ratings haven't had much of a recovery in spite of the heavy Carter focus, I wonder if the BBC is eventually going to have enough. I don't think it helps that the Lucy story is such an anticlimax. Danny Dyer's become Tyrone from Corrie. I didn't recognize Matt di Angelo at first. Stan looks like Sandy from Emmerdale.

ANOTHER WORLD 167 Reginald explains the past
Poor Lisa I hope this isn't the end for her. And it's all Amanda's fault...well not really, but still. Wow at the reveal about Lumina. It makes as much sense as anything in that story did. I enjoyed the whole conversation between Rachel and Reginald. The convo between Sharlene and Steven was good too. Important to the narratives.

I know some fans feel that he needs an editor and that too many authors no longer bother with editors once they become popular. I guess I have no room to say, as I've never written a book.

That reminds me of something Neil Gaiman wrote about five years ago. I've seen the quote going around recently so I thought it was new. http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2009/05/entitlement-issues.html- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos

If anyone here doesn't mind a liberal bent you may enjoy this website, which covers various national races. They're much less partisan than the main Kos website, which I stopped reading years ago as it gave into hysteria and turn-blue-until-I-get-what-I-want antics. They've spoken some about the GA governor race and many other races. Essentially they've said it's somewhat close at the moment, although given that it's a midterm year, Nathan Deal would likely be favored. http://www.dailykos.com/blog/elections- The Politics Thread
Well having a candidate who doesn't oppose the farm bill might be a good start... With that said, the media will go wild for her, as they've been looking for a new Sarah Palin for a long time, and I'm sure they and the money men will push hard for a narrative over that "real American" putting that fancy pants farm hating librul on the ropes and she's gonna castrate him and lol! As for Cochran, frankly, I was surprised it even went to runoff. McDaniel is tailor-made for today's GOP. I do think McDaniel will win the runoff, and for all the hope of some Democrats that Travis Childers has a shot, McDaniel will easily win in November. And then we will hear the press gushing and wanking over whether he will be Marco Rubio's VP and how they could be the dream team.- HBO: Game of Thrones

Joni "unfortunate accident" Ernst wins the Iowa GOP Senate primary. Watch that liberal media spin and spin for her, even absurdly trying to claim that her win is a loss for the Tea Party, even though she is insanely extreme on every single thing, right down the line. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/06/joni-ernst-iowa-senate-2014-elections-bruce-braley-107403.html?hp=f1- HBO: Game of Thrones
This is a few years old, but it's a very interesting interview with Peter Dinklage, in which he talks about friends he's made in the industry, and all the years he starved as an actor in order to avoid playing cheap dwarf roles. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/01/magazine/peter-dinklage-was-smart-to-say-no.html?pagewanted=all- All My Children Tribute Thread
Not here, although there were threads in the main section, and a status update.- HBO: Game of Thrones
The thing is I don't know if there was any hope to be crushed. She didn't seem to particularly care that she was going to her aunt. She went with The Hound partially out of not having other options and not having a ton of choice in the matter. She doesn't think she'll be seeing her family again. She has no one else. She's given up on most of life and sees nothing that will change that. She barely reacts to anything now, and when she reacted here, it was just to laugh and laugh.- HBO: Game of Thrones
To me her reaction worked if we're supposed to see her as losing it. I've seen Maisie Williams say things like we're not supposed to be rooting for Arya at this point, so I do think she's playing this as disturbed. JMO of course. I think that at one point Littlefinger saw Sansa as a young Cat. Over time I think his feelings about her have become increasingly muddied. There was some fan talk of how that scene with her walking down the stairs was a middle-aged pervy man's version of that teen comedy scene where the woman walks down the stairs and she's suddenly gorgeous and magical and his fantasy come to life. I think in that scene, he saw her as who he wants her (Sansa, now "Alayne") to be, not who he wanted Catelyn to be, because I think even he knows Catelyn never would have been like that.- Recovering lost films and TV shows

I thought this was the best scene in the episode. It was just so quietly devastating, and in some odd way, beautiful. http://www.farfarawaysite.com/section/got/gallery4/gallery8/hires/35.jpg- HBO: Game of Thrones
Alfie Allen talks about Theon, castration, why you shouldn't hate Ramsay (or the actor who plays him, anyway). He also flat out denies that Lily Allen was ever offered the role of Yara/Asha. This has a spoiler, so be warned. http://www.vulture.com/2014/06/alfie-allen-theon-reek-ramsay-nudity-chat.html Vee, thanks for telling me what the line was. Thanks qfan. I guess if I know her from anything, it's The Young Ones, but she may just look like someone. I'll have to watch the Jaime and Tyrion scene again, as I saw someone saying Jaime mentioned that he'd been sexually abused or something? I don't know if he said that or if the fan just misheard.
