Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
But then wouldn't they say someone would be returning? In case you were wondering, this information came from @showbizsecrets (twitter handle). If I knew how to embed tweets, I would.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Apparently, tomorrow we'll find out that a TV LEGEND will be joining Emmerdale. Can't wait to see who it is. It would be fantastic if the long awaited Grandma Barton was finally cast. I know a lot of people have wanted her to be Joan Collins for years.

Shortland Street
Wow, Ed Sheeran is going to guest on Shorty! That's pretty cool that this show could get someone so big.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I can't help but want to fast forward to when people find out Andy and Bernice had sex, or an affair, as the case may turn into. Nicola and Victoria's reactions will be strong highlights, but I think Diane's, due to her relationships with both, could be the underdog gem!

Cain and Charity were such a highlight today. Kate Oates has also done a fantastic job and fixing the hatchet job Blackburn did to his character. It will be interesting to see if either wedding goes through.

I love how David has basically become Maria's devil may care conscious. I hope they keep their relationship going. It's fascinating.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Prince, Danny (Lucy's ex/the guy Johnny kissed) has already exited. I've always been a big Gary Lucy, so I was sad that he wasn't sticking around. He seemed like he could be a fun bi-sexual cad type of character. Whitney not being okay with Johnny being gay was never the story. It was a beat played which led to Terry and Bianca's break up. That said, I really hope Terry sticks around when Bianca goes, who, unlike people here, I will definitely miss. Kirkwood was terrible with her, but ever since she came back with Terry she's been watchable again and she'll always be one of my favourites. I just hope she at least takes Tiffany with her. IMost of the time I despise children, but Morgan can stay just because of that scene where he told Carol she could always come to him when she needed a hug.

Thank you for hating him as well. Him and Blessing should get together. There are some other actors on that show that aren't major thespians, but they at least have charisma, screen presence or a certain likability. These two are just horrible every time they are on screen. My predication for Fraser's murderer is Diane. She's been a violent, selfish sociopath since the beginning.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Ben, after watching Emmerdale again since April 1, I'm totally on board with your idea of Robbie/Finn. I agree with all of you that Danny Miller never sold the romantic aspects of his relationships. I can't be sure that Lawson would be different, but him and Finn to have a good rapport. Plus, I never understood how the show couldn't see the off the charts chemistry between Aaron and Victoria. Heck, they probably did and that's why their great friendship suffered once Aaron got into the thick of his relationship with Jackson.

Maria is a must see character right now. Her throwing her phone right in Todd's smug face made my day. It was so unexpected, yet brilliant. I'm placing my bets that she'll end up being

HBO: Game of Thrones
I think the main problem is anyone trying to find a love story on this show. That's not what this show is or should ever be about for any character. This show is about power, how to retain it, the weakness/vices of those who lost it and whether or not one is strong enough to get it back once they've done so. If I wanted some lame romance I'd watch crap like Scandal or something equally embarrassing.

HBO's Looking
Maybe not mature of me but, there is too much beardage and that gross stache look on Murray Bartlett? ... I physically could not watch even if I wanted to. I do hope, as a fan of Groff, that it's a success though.

He was my favourite on that show, then Ryan O'Reilly, in hotness and character wise. But we must never forget Shirley Bellinger - she was perfection. Back to your regularly scheduled TWD talk.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I can't believe you like Jim. I hate his backstabbing ugly ass the second most out of anybody next to Vincent. He's horrible. Carmel hasn't ever really had a good pairing to be honest. She's only worked this long because she's always been a supporting character. Trevor works because he's got the bad boy sexiness down perfectly. Yum. Darren being tied to the Roscoes is a clear example of a badly plotted story. It saddens me. However, there is no such thing as Darren overload you fool. If you look at my signature, you'll see that I'm quite biased! Of course, you should have watched him when he was all gold chains and mesh tank tops. I still have hope that version of Darren will come back to us someday, even for a short while. Nancy is probably hard to like if you're just tuning in, but I love her to death. They really took their time slowly having Nancy become addicted to those pills. She's always been sanctimonious, but she's the only character ever (and maybe Frankie, too) that can get away with it. I can't really explain it. Have you watched the scene where Nancy goes to get pills from Dr. Browning and Mercedes lambasts for always looking down her nose at her? That was such a great moment. Martha did survive, literally leaving about a day after. That she didn't even get a goodbye scene with George pissed me off. Dodger/Will/Texas didn't ruin anybody at all. Sure, I was sad Texas died, but everything regarding the Savages/Blakes this year has been exceptional. Will being creepy worked extremely well. The only sad part is that we didn't get more of Anna. The actress was so good. Get rid of Mercedes? You're absolutely crazy for thinking that's a possibility. She's basically the queen of the village now. She ALWAYS has major story. If Jennifer Metcalfe ever leaves there will be a huge hole in the show.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
KMan, your thoughts are valid, except for you hating on my Dodger and Texas. I have waxed poetic many times about how they are a modern day super-couple and were the best couple of 2012! I expect a heartfelt hand-written apology acknowledging your heinous and nearly unforgivable actions against them, throwing yourself at my mercy! Also, Patrick is still around for the foreseeable future. I don't know why you thought otherwise. Him and Sienna have been breaths of fresh air for this show, especially the fabulous Sienna. She is absolute perfection. I'm completely immersed in the Maxine story, especially as the writing is actually taking it's time there. Maxine is another great addition. As for the Roscoe's, Joe is my favourite (he's so, so sexy and actually talented, bringing an earnestness and easy likability to him without just being some pig headed dolt, also known as alcoholic Miles de Souza/Miles de Bouza (the best nickname ever), on Emmerdale. Freddie is well written, but is portrayed by an awful actor who makes him a hammy joke. Robbie is a sociopath, but the actor is experienced and talented enough to make you (or at least me) not completely hate him. Ziggy has the whole Rudolph Valentino romanticism/playboy down, but him and Jason aren't strong actors either, not yet anyway. You will hate Vincent soon if you don't already. One of the worst creatures ever created. And that horrible skin ... unacceptable! The writing for Danny is infuriating. He's written so sympathetically without any reason as to why we should be sympathetic. He's a selfish dick! I also was/am extremely put off by the dismantling of the Kanes. There were no male characters like Callum on the canvas and Martha was brilliant. The rape story is moreso being thrown at John Paul to give something meaty for James Sutton to do, which I have no problem with because I've always been a huge fan of his. I have every faith the build-up to the rape will be great, getting Finn to the dark place they need him to be at. It's how they handle the aftermath that Kirkwood has fallen flat before, like with Esther's bullying. Of the Hollyoaks Blast deaths, Leanne was the most devastating to me. I liked Doug with Texas/Leanne, but otherwise he outstayed his welcome. His exit should have been when he and Ste broke up at the airport. I like her sometimes, but on a whole Sinead is just a mess. Kirkwood has tried too hard with shoehorning her as some major lead character, that it just falls flat a bit. Your issues about Theresa are interesting, because I feel Kirkwood has had Sinead take her well established place on the canvas, unfortunately. Plus, Sinead's relationship with Ste is a sad retread of the great friendship he had with Justin Burton, that got cut short too soon because of Chris Fountain's exit. Thankfully, Kirkwood has completely breathed new life into Ste by kind of pressing the restart button him without regressing him, though I strongly disagree with Carl's stance on his relationship with Brendan.
