Christ almighty! Another old thread?

Anyway, I'll play.

At the moment, I'm only watching Days, Y&R and parts of GH. Of course, I could include people from other soaps that I know are fascinating, but I'll just stick to those three shows. These aren't who I consider to be the best characters in daytime right now -- just the most 'fascinating.'

In no particular order...

1.) Pheila - Y&R. Trainwreck story that will do more damage to Y&R in the long-run, but like any trainwreck, you can't help but watch.

2.) Chelsea - Days. The perfect "grey" character. She's grown a heart, but she's still got that bad streak. I'm loving her.

3.) Drucilla - Y&R. Victoria Rowell... need I say more? *sniff*

4.) EJ "Elvis" DiMera - Days. He oozes sex. His sexuality is ambiguous, and every word that comes out of his mouth has 'sex' written all over it. Is he bisexual? Is he written that way, or does James Scott just play him that way?

5.) Maxie - GH. Kirsten Storms is much better in this kind of role. Seeing her recent scenes in the hostage storyline was a breath of fresh air.

6.) Steve - Days. Stephen Nichols... need I say more?

7.) Phillip - Days. Cannot stand Jay Johnson in the role, but I love the writing for the 'new' version of the character. In serious need of a recast though, IMO.

8.) Nick - Days. I think I've fallen in love.

Couldn't think of anymore....

Pheila NEVER existed on Y&R. I spoke with LP Bell & even she doesn't recognize a Phelia. There was NEVER a character named Pheila on Y&R. I don't know any Phelia. Do u know of a Phelia? Come u point Phelia out to me? What is this so-called Phelia's history on Y&R?

For me at this time they are: (In no particular order)

1) Drucilla Winters (Y&R)

2) Phyllis/Sheila (Y&R) - best version of Sheila ever in my opinion

3) Paul Williams (Y&R) - always and forever

4) Holden Snyer (ATWT)

5) Carly Snyder (ATWT)

6) Barbara Ryan (ATWT)

7) Zarf/Zoe (AMC) - sorry to the haters but I love the character and the actor

8) Bo Brady (Days)

9) Reva Shayne Lewis (GL)

10) Luke Spencer (GH)

And I know you didn't ask but IMO the worst are:

1) Willow Stark (Days)

2) the new Philip Kiriakis (Days)

3) Ava Perault (GL)

4) Katie Kasnoff (ATWT)

5) Zach Slater (AMC)

6) Josh Madden (AMC) - too boring for me but I wouldn't kick him out of bed LOL

7) the new version of Lucas (Days) - has gotten way too boring

8) Brad Snyder (ATWT)

9) Ridge Forrester (B&B)

10) this version of Kayla Brady (Days) - please give her back her spunk

    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.
    • RIP Wayne Lewis.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
