I haven't seen ATWT in a while, and now Jen is sick? What's wrong?

::clears throat::

Jen caught pneumonia in the summer time. Don't ask how. But she has it.

It's really not that hard to believe, however, she has viral pneumonia and should be in ICU but is left with a person ( who completed 4 years of schooling in less than a year, has been an intern for about three seconds and who hasn't had any sleep for a couple of days) virtually un-supervised. Now that is hard to believe, especially since the Chief of Staff is her uncle.

*mutters* My son has had pneumonia in the summer when he was younger. We had to stay in an oxygen tent and everything. He wouldn't stay in it unless somebody he knew would sit in it with him. :(

I wasn't trying to be funny when I said that. I was actually clearing my throat, lol. I just didn't see how she got it. Jennifer's rarely ever outside but then again, I don't know how people get the virus b/c I've never had it.

Yeah, pneumonia is very serious at times. I've had it once and it's awful b/c I felt like I couldn't breathe b/c my lungs were too heavy. I really thought that I was going to die, even though I got proper treatment and it wasn't as serious as it could have been. My grandmother had it twice and was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks each time.

At first, I thought that I had had just the flu and some congestion in my chest. My lungs felt like they had stuff in them and every time I coughed, I'd get a sharp pain in my chest. So a lot of people just shrug it off as the flu or severe allergies. That's why it's easy for pneumonia to develop, especially when your immune system is bad.

There is a type of pneumonia that people contract from hospitals. Usually that type of pneumonia is more severe and fatal. Since Jen was in the hospital pretty much 24/7 w/ Johnny, it is possible that that's what she has. Plus, she probably wasn't eating properly or sleeping enough, so her body defenses were low to begin w/. Also, she did ignore doctor's orders. :rolleyes:
