RIP: In Memoriam Thread

R.I.P to actor Philip MacHale who played Tony Lord # 2 died on July 26. He was 81. During the late 70's and 80's he was in demand as a commercial actor. He was a long-time spokesperson in a series of Hardees commercials as a racecar driver named Road Runner.

GH: July 2026 Discussion Thread

I think it could be fun. Let’s say this was the hospital against the PCPD from Monty’s era or even when Scrubs was happening. But it’s another current example of Sonny being defanged and not understood at all by the show.
This is something that would fit so easy on a show where the lead character isn’t a criminal interacting with law enforcement and city government as allies. It’s one of those suspension of disbelief things that are sometimes harder to ignore when in this situation.

I really hope Sally is one of the characters that the new writers get rid of. I FF her and Billy’s scenes always.. just boring. I seriously thinking bringing back Mackenzie could be a good new direction for Billy.

Y&R: July 2026 Discussion Thread

The show has never been as bad as it is right now. Atleast MAB had stories and action. This is just utter trash. Are we thinking November is when the new material starts?
Watching the transition between head writers is always fascinating to see. When Josh Griffith first came on and took over from MAB I actually enjoyed his first year there. He’s seriously gone off the rails in later years though and just lacks any kind of imagination with his story telling. I’m glad they are letting someone fill this role who’s actually hungry for it and loves the show.

JPL seems like a fun guy. I like him. He is just so wrong for Phillip in every way. Pretty much every time he appears @AbcNbc247 says something that amounts to "these scenes would be good if JPL stopped making goofy faces" lol.
JPL would probably work fine in a less established role on the show. He's just literally the opposite of JKJ's Phillip and it doesn't work.

GH: July 2026 Discussion Thread

It's almost like Nathan Dean took the show by surprise, but he made it clear that was his time frame all along. It would seem he really wanted out if he wasn't available to tape a day or two of scenes. I am not sure why GH couldn't have cut some extraneous Ethan scenes and filmed his exit instead before ND left. Sometimes I think the backstage antics are more exciting than the show.
I think the softball stuff is dorky and kind of cute. The only issue I have is that there are always about 3 people who have no idea how to play softball like it's cute. Why did you sign up for softball then?
Brook Lynn screaming at insanely buff Drew while her baby is on the ground right next to her for 20 minutes was amusing. Great parenting.
I guess Jason's leaving the mob again. I wonder how long that will last.
