As for the cotillion scenes I would have been more curious if Francesca had actually won.

I guess I’d love to see the Belleclaires be the Spectras to the Dupree’s Forrester’s but it obviously hasn’t been well developed yet.

this! given the budget for these two episodes, you’d think they could have set aside a few $$ to hire a day player to play miss imogen.

Since the show loves musical guests then maybe Tamala Mann (no doubt one of Anita's many friends) can come on and send Derek off with "Take Me To The King".

Probably cuz I've stopped ranting about it. ;) Down to the original actress and all. I was so surprised at how it followed what you thought down to the letter. But ugh. The start of my taking a long break from Y&R. Sealed by killing off Cole, abandoning one of their most dynamic black actor/character in ages, and killing off Chance.

Sidenote...it's nice to see Martin and Smitty as a gay couple...even dancing in public...and no one bats an eye.

The production and camerawork were a major level up these last few days and they have delivered on the cotillion week overall. Some of the tracking camera stuff reminded me of Linda Gottlieb's daring style in early '90s OLTL. We don't see enough of that on other soaps today. The lighting in the warehouse, etc. was also very good.

The entire interlude with the Belleclaires was cartoonish and silly out of a Saturday morning cartoon, but it wasn't enough to derail the overall solid event. I do think the girl playing Francesca has real potential to continue. Her "glamma" (ugh) Anastasia (or however they spell it) is and always has been a one-note caricature. The day to day dialogue and nuance still has to get a lot more developed beyond 'hoity-toity snobs turn up their noses at our plucky heroes'.

Nonetheless, it's their most impressive sweeps since the big reveal of Eva and Leslie last summer and hopefully augurs better things. Particularly if we have another couple big shoes to drop this week. If they could get their hokey dialogue and pacing issues under control this show could really soar.

Your first prediction was one of mine a loooooong time ago. Back when Samantha was a "victim" of parental hovering via Martin and Smitty. I'll be more surprised if Jessica isn't pregnant. The added ingredients are there, including Jessica's horrible parents, who would be more than prepared to blame Tyrell for the whole thing.

Between the backroom and his apartment, Joey has the ugliest sets.

Well given this show's history with post-credit scenes and what I said about the next week synopsis last week, I do hope we are about to get a Friday Cliffhanger that's a doozy then.

But going back to speculation...what if Doug is alive AND that is Nicole's patient?
