Anastasia and her granddaughter ate up Nicole and Samantha today.

Joey sucking up to the child of the man he had murdered was gross. Can this secret come out already. I really don’t need it waiting until year 3.

I also like Mona and adore the actress who plays her. And you're also right, we need to see Mona much more often, as we did in the show's first year. I've noticed we no longer see the little breakfast meetings of the have-nots at Orphie Jean's, which included Mona. I don't think we're seen those characters together since December or January, and we used to see them gathered around the table at least once a month -- perhaps more. Regarding the religious stuff -- I have no problem with Mona being a woman of faith but, these days, she is laying it on way too thick to be believable. In the real world, a person that obsessed with religion would have no friends, no romantic life, and likely would have driven away her family too. They are turning Mona into a joke, and it smacks of anti-religious sentiment. The writers need to tone-down Mona's religious rhetoric quickly. Why can't she just be a normal woman of faith?

Mona is exactly like a lot of bible thumpers, she's written in character. People like her are the reason why people despise structured religion. She needs to teach by example, not by lecturing nor judging.

Nicole did not read Anastacia well enough. She called her granddaughter all sorts of names and she did not have a good enough come back. Meanwhile, Samantha just Chessy walk all over her without even trying to adequately defend herself. This is where the writers should be utilizing Kat's nasty attitude instead of having her in pointless dust ups with Eva.

Vanessa overstepped prying into Heather's wearabouts, but I was glad that Joey snapped at her because she deserves everyone talking down to her.

Samantha is an ungrateful and I'm glad someone on the show talked down to this entitled brat. How someone as sweet and whimsical as June could produce such a vile individual makes me curious to know who the father is.

Vanessa is displaying all the toxic traits that people say men have, and if men can't do it. .neither can an entitled sex addict like Vanessa either. She obviously doesn't understand nor respect boundaires... because if she did, she would have done a better job honoring her marriage vows or divorcing Doug before she ventured out into the hook up world (like her bestie Nicole has done.. divorced and now just enjoying her newfound status as a free agent).

Agree re Mona. To have her turn up after so long and play the exact same scene with Randy as she did last time.

What's the point?

She isn't on often enough to have any value. Apparently she works for Nicole but we never see them together.

I get she's non contract but she's basically non existent.

😂🤣 We can always count on hearing that the Jamey Giddens breakdown is awful -- but always saved by the incredible script writer!

It’s such a slap in the face to Michele Val Jean to praise every single writer except Jamey. Michele reads, edits and approves every single breakdown. We know that this person hates Jamey for whatever reason. Jamey will never write an acceptable breakdown in that person’s opinion but somehow his breakdowns get approved by the showrunner. Imagine that. 🤣😆

it’s getting old… don’t know their backstory, don’t care.

Speaking as someone who hates Jamey Giddens just as much, I understand.

It can get very annoying when you’re constantly seeing work from someone who’s more concerned with writing everything and everyone like a big stupid joke, or ripping off The Real Housewives or ripping off another soap writer’s work and calling it an Easter egg. To me, that’s just laziness.

He did the same stuff on Days. And just like with Days, it may be funny the first time but after the 450th time, it just isn’t anymore.

As for the criticism being a slap in the face to Michele Van Jean… guess that means I was slapping the holy hell out of Ron Carlivati for 4 years 😂😂😂

Thoughts:

  • A quick change of plans? That is never a good sign. Ever. Oh, this is not going to end well. I am calling it now.

  • It looks like Ted is going to be using Monica to his benefit where Shanice is concerned.

  • Nice to see that Dr. Mercer has not changed their ways all of this time later.

  • Threats never end well, do they? Lia is buckling and feeling the pressure. I can tell. Her tongue is not as sharp as it has been in the past.

  • Vanessa is hilarious and I love it. Such a free spirit and I know that Nicole appreciates it, likely more than she would if it were Dani saying the same things.

  • So, is this Tyrell confirming he has had sex before? Brave of him and Martin is handling this news like a genuine trooper.

  • Naomi, smart of you for interrupting Ashley's discussion with Grayson. It is way too risky to be caught together.

  • It is about time that Elon becomes more involved in Jacob's undercover work. I just hope that it does not backfire on him or that Elon is not double-crossing him.

  • Samantha coming home looks like Goldie Hawn's Elise Elliot in The First Wives Club. Ridiculous.

  • I love that Eva is the one to give Samantha this pep talk; she understands what is happening right now, and she is the one to rightfully remind her as to why she is doing this and exactly who she is.

  • It is very sweet of Martin to invite Eva to the cotillion. Very sweet and love the relationship they are building.

  • Not Marcel uncovering the happenings of the hospital. He is going to find out things Lia does not want him to find out.

  • Well, Vanessa, your sexy bestie is a grandma (not Gaga). Hilarious. Grandmothers can be vivacious and gorgeous and youthful.

  • What an unfortunate time for Ted to walk up on Nicole's and Vanessa's conversation.

  • I love that Monica is opening up to Shanice about her own past in the hopes that it can and will help Shanice where her feelings for Ted are concerned.

  • Promising on your life, Jacob? Those do seem like the definition of 'famous last words'.

  • Ashley is playing Lia and she is doing so effectively well. I just hope that Lia continues to buy into it.

  • Uh-oh. Nicole is thinking more and more about her public rendezvous with Ted. Something is bound to happen soon.

  • So cute seeing Samantha and Tyrell getting along, and I do love seeing Bradley and Martin being the stereotypical proud parents witnessing it.

Notes:

  • This is Lucente's third script as a breakdown writer and it is not for him. He worked better with his singular script as a scriptwriter and I am hoping that he somehow transitions back to that position sometime soon. His role as a continuity producer and researcher should benefit him in that role, as well. Paige did outstandingly with today's dialogue. Overall, a decently moving episode. Better than yesterday's for sure.

  • A makeshift clinic set. Probably will not be enough to make people happy, but for the scene it was used in, it worked effectively well!
