Joshua Morrow is doing some outstanding work today. Easily his best work since Cassie's death. Wow.

Here's hoping for no cheap sweeps stunts and less garbage time.

Please, not yet another addiction story on Y&R. I understand addiction is a serious issue and should be represented on daytime. But over the years far too many Y&R characters have experienced addiction in its various forms -- alcohol, prescription drugs, illegal drugs, gambling, online pornography, etc. Am I missing anything?? Y&R fans need at least a ten-year moratorium on addiction plots.

Joshua Morrow has impressed me with Nick's drug addiction struggle. The sad thing is this will be wrapped in a week with no real follow through.

Nick can discuss addiction with his mother and former stepfather-both recovering addicts. Or catch up with Billy-alcohol/gambling addictions.

How many addiction storylines has Y&R had?

From what I recall:

Katherine - alcohol

Traci - diet pills

Brent Davis - alcohol

Phillip III - alcohol

Nikki - alcohol and painkillers

Billy - alcohol and gambling

Neil - alcohol

Daniel - porn

Jack - painkillers

Nick - painkillers

I think Nick Reed was introduced as an alcoholic. I can't remember if the initial Victor back story mentioned Albert Miller being an alcoholic or if that was something added later.

You prove my point. Y&R fans need a break from these endless addiction storylines. Please writers -- write something else for us. How about a young romantic triangle? How about a murder mystery with an actual trial? Maybe some social class conflict?? Whoops -- no working-class characters on this show...

How about a psycho from the past comes back to torment vet characters?

Or business 'intrigue' where companies change hands every month?

I don't get it: Josh Griffith has characters on Y&R switching CEO gigs every month and the ratings stay the same or go up; Patrick Mulcahey has characters on GH doing the same thing and what happens? Ratings go down, people complain the show is boring and he gets the sack. Like I said, I don't get it, lol.

At this point it seems CBS/Sony care more about ratings and staying within budget than the quality of the writing.

I'll keep saying this until it happens. Josh Griffith needs to go.

All he does is recycle the psycho/business plots and come up with crappy stories to keep the Newman/Abbott rivalry going.

Yes JG has to go and go NOW!!!!

This Matt Clark crap is ruining the show for me. Everytime the story with him reaches a “climax” is when I literally get the most bored. Nothing ever comes of it. What’s the point? A building burned down with the Newmans inside apparently but all we saw was one single shot of it and everyone was fine. Sienna “killing” Matt was fine as a twist but he shows up alive anyways so again… WHATS THE POINT?

Well, unless demos/ratings severely drop, he won't be going anywhere.
