As expected, CBS on Wednesday announced it has renewed “Beyond the Gates” for two additional seasons, keeping the daytime drama series on the network’s daytime lineup through at least the 2027-2028 television season, which sees the series through seasons three through four.

The renewal comes as CBS is projected to claim its ranking as the No. 1 network in daytime, claiming its 40th consecutive winning season with a robust lineup that also includes the top three most watched programs, including “The Price is Right” (#1), “The Young and the Restless” (#2) and “The Bold and the Beautiful” (#3), plus “Let’s Make a Deal.”

CBS previously renewed “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” through the 2027-2028 television season, with both shows set to continue through at least Season 41 and Season 55, respectively.

“‘Beyond The Gates’ immediately improved the time period, has enthusiastically been embraced by the daytime community and is getting good critical acclaim in the press,” said Amy Reisenbach, president, CBS Entertainment, during a press briefing on Wednesday, announcing the CBS fall primetime program schedule.

While the network did not release an update on how the show is performing among the Most Current ratings data (inclusive of delayed viewing, plus streaming/multi-platform), Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel ratings data for the 2025-2026 television season shows “Beyond the Gates” currently outrating time slot competitor “General Hospital” among Women 25-54 (0.25 rating vs. 0.23 rating).

Created and executive produced by Michele Val Jean, who also serves as showrunner and head writer, “Beyond the Gates” is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one of the most affluent African American counties in the United States, and follows an affluent Black family, the Duprees, who hold court over Fairmont Crest, a posh gated community that’s the center of luxury with wealthy residents harboring deep secrets. Behind the pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered.

In addition to Val Jean, executive producers include Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thomson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Anna Saalfeld and Lela Coffey.

It can't be a coincidence that in 2024 Y&R was renewed for 4 years, then B&B was renewed for 3 years in 2025 and now BTG has been renewed for 2 years in 2026. That means all three shows come up for renewal in 2028.

I am so very happy with this news. And I can't wait to see what MVJ does with the knowledge that they will be around for two years.
