I'll chime in with my opinion lol. I thought Connor was fine. Too soon to tell, but I didn't notice any immediate issues.

Oh, please do. I really appreciate your opinion on this as someone who doesn't watch Y&R so have never seen Connor's work. I hope he does win you over. Though I know BF is a hard act to follow.

I do feel since he did put in the study time off comments above, that he might do the acting technique...which I have loved in some soap recasts...of studying a bit of his predecessor, miming it a little bit, but slowly make the character into his own.

To be fair I am not the biggest Billy Flynn stan. I like him, but he's not irreplaceable in my mind so I am more open to it.

I think you will like Conner Floyd. Different vibe from Billy Flynn, but he's got the chops.

So far so good. Nothing felt awkward or weird from him. I do miss Cary Christopher as Thomas more lol.

on Y&R, Conner was paired with ladies of two different age groups - Sharon Case and Allison Lanier. I thought he was charming with both, but the writing was stilted. He did the best he could with the writing they gave him. Y&R didn't seem to know what to do with Conner, and his character.

Conner came in as a recast -- coming onto the canvas at the point where his character was a cop who'd been away for months abroad as military police or soldier or special ops (something along those lines) who was rescued from a long captivity, and came home-- -- -- first appearing on the canvas as he arrived home from the rescue with PTSD and a distancing from his character's then wife (played by Melissa Ordway) -- but he was written to * not * have chem with his wife due to PTSD.

Then they made him a cop, then randomly a businessman, then a cop again, while developing the other romances. But it was all written awkwardly, like they were plugging the character into plotholes to fill story. He did well, it was just awkward writing.

Well tbf before the recent recasts, Chance was always a good guy cop hero guy in his earlier version. And military. So him falling into a cop role (versus the abrupt businessman attempt) made sense.

A Lani/Kristen reunion!

As much as I can't stand Kristen sometimes and still think she needs to be written out, I've always enjoyed this friendship. It shows a different side of Kristen that we don't often see. It was nice seeing them get all caught up. Too bad that she went back to being annoying again as the episode went on. I don't care about her plan with Sophia at all.

A large part of today's episode was also devoted to the fallout of Xander and Kate setting Johnny up. In spite of Josh Taylor's voice lol I liked seeing him and Kate going head to head again. I thought it was a pretty good showdown, and I'm looking forward to when the truth finally comes out. Roman, bringing up Kate's devotion to her family and how that devotion has sometimes hurt other people was a good idea. That's how you use history. I also didn't mind Marlena questioning Xander about it either. She definitely needs to be included more in this storyline, just based on the fact that Johnny is her grandson. I'm interested in seeing what happens to all these characters as the storyline progresses. Hopefully, the lawsuit actually goes to court too.

Plus, based on Johnny and Chanel's scenes today, it looks like he may need his grandmother sooner or later.

And I'll always enjoy Brady/Tate scenes. They're so believable as father and son. I expected Tate to decide to drop out of Salem U but I have mixed feelings about his plans though. As nice as it would be to see him working as a personal trainer/martial artist lol I don't see how they could get any conflict or drama out of that. And he and Holly need a much better storyline than anything involving Sophia anyway.

Who cares as long as we see Tate like this? I'm all for his new venture!!😂😍

It would make more sense for Tate to join Brady at Black Patch. I know neither are the sharpest, but at least there are story options for them with that.
