While I may not buy the storyline or the reasons behind Mariah's decisions (or lack thereof), Camryn Grimes has shown up and worked every single beat of this story. I am ready to see where it goes (although I do suspect I know where it is about to go).

No seriously she is the saving grace of whatever this random story is supposed to be

She's doing outstanding work, and even Melissa Ordway did well pulling from that inner emotion as a mother. I believed everything she was feeling.

A nostalgia line in today's episode. My boy Victor's still threatening to crush people 27 whole yeas later.

Billy calling Nick a "one legged dog" today lol.

Nick's pills look like smarties.

-- Camryn Grimes has been good, but I'm so disgusted with the character that it's hard for me to see anything else. Mariah should be locked up by the Feds for what she did, and then she should be locked in an institution. An ankle monitor isn't enough.

-- And yes I get it then it's a soap. But Mariah and Sharon walk right into the Chancellor mansion? No one told her to stay away from Dominic and family? I hate it.

-- For me, Melissa Ordway has been doing the best work. I'm sure she's been channeling how she would feel if this happened to one of her own kids. I normally dislike it when Abby takes off on another character, but in this instance, Mariah deserves her wrath.

-- I know they probably want Devon to balance Abby in mood and temperament, but in this case I really wish he had gone ballistic, too.

Nicholas picking up an addiction to pain pills is not only realistic but also tracks, given that addiction runs in his family (via Nikki's alcoholism). Half a snap for Josh Griffith for taking this route.

I'm happy to see the reintroduction of the Dark Horse Chancellor Industries set; however, I do wish it were the original set from the 1990s and 2000s or something remodeled like it (at times, it did give Jabot).

edit; Every time I see the mid-episode bumper, I cannot help but feel like that design would have better suited the opening theme.

i have been a notorious Phyllis hater for pretty much my entire soap watching life but even I am feeling the need to root for her in this storyline because someone explain to me WHY half the cast is hating on Phyllis and acting like she’s some power hungry b*tch but continue to support Victor who has done 100x worst than Phyllis has ever done. All she’s done is take a stupid company and no one will shut up about it. I get really annoyed when one character gets centred out by majority of the cast when most of them have no room to throw any stones. They did this to Sharon years ago too and I hated it then and I hate it now.

Nice to see Christine in lawyer mode. They TALKED about Mariah's hearing and some nonsense as to why she's free but like most of the awful stories they are made worse b/c we don't see things. OUAT we wouls see the hearing, the judge's ruling etc and it would be more involving and believable.

This new park cafe set is actually outside? It doesn't look bad except a few extras eg waitstaff would have helped.

Now Society was featured(surprise!) with the Nate/Devon convo at the bar. That was tight shot and we saw a couple of extras in the background. To me the could have done w/o them as the camera held on Nate/Devon.

Whereas the park cafe showed the set in entirety and would have benefitted from having a few extra people in the mix.

Don't know how and why these decisions are made. Same at Crimson Lights which is usually customer free.

Nick/Sharon & co were sitting front of set and there was one lone extra in a booth. It looked sad.

One thing I hate is pretty much the opening scenes tell you what to expect. eg Nate and Devon's conversation continued throughout the episode. There's not enough movement and scene/character changes.

PS Josh Griffith must go...

Is there a video or a photo for someone outside the US to see?

I really hate everything about the opening.

Of course, on this show the person always says they feel sorry and the judge lets them go. Really gripping stuff. Such big stakes for all these kidnappings where the person is always returned unharmed and the perpetrator doesn't go to jail. Really moves story forward. Great tension as we watch them sit in some dirty room wondering if they'll be rescued.
